[The staring makes him a little uncomfortable, but he gets why. So far so good, the demon's starting to be able to pass for human. Well not really but close.]

Uh... Here, I don't know.

[Okay fine, he huffs and kicks off a shoe, rolling up a pant leg so Alastor can get a look at how human legs and feet are built. Well this is one of the weirdest evenings he's ever spent.]

Oh, I see!

*He doesn't get rid of any joints, but a visible effort of concentration changes the proportions so that his leg looks more like a human's. His hooves soften into toes...but there's only four of them.*

Um...is it okay if the feet aren't quite right?

We'll get you some shoes.

[That'll solve that problem. But the features still aren't quite right.]

You're a little tall for a six-year old.

How tall should I be?

*Next he'll handle the eyes, which takes real effort. He's not going to be able to keep them not glowing while he uses magic real magic...also, might wanna tell him that humans don't have red eyes.*

[He holds a hand up at what he thinks is roughly the height of a kid. You're going to need to lose a foot or two.]

And dude, red eyes aren't in style. I'd go for brown.

*The eyes change to a dark brown and he shrinks, ending up roughly three feet tall. That just leaves the wings, tail, fangs and purple skin. And learning he can't manage round ears.*

[Height's good, eyes are good, overall form is good, minus the really demonic bits. Gotta work on those wings and that tail, those would be too hard to hide.]

Hah, I bet. And you're not even all the way there yet. Think you can get any further? Maybe nix the tail?

*He shifts uncomfortably a bit before focusing again. The tail shrivels and dissolves, leaving him looking highly uncomfortable.*

I don't like it...

[You are a fish out of water, Alastor.]

You're looking good. Wings?

[It's going to be a push, he knows, but maybe... And idly, Dante pulls off his coat, takes the guns out of their holsters to keep by his side, then tosses it the demon's way. Might be a bit uncomfortable in human skin, he doesn't really know.]

*He catches it, blinks, then notices it's thicker than his now fairly soft, if still purple, skin.*

I don't like walking...

*He sulks a bit, but takes a deep breath and the wings also shrivel and evaporate. He's breathing a bit heavily, but he now looks more like some strange type of dark elf than an actual demon.*

[Yes, humans have to protect their hides.]

I know, man, but you're not gonna blend in at all looking like bat boy.

[It's an improvement? He's almost passable, get that purple mellowed out a bit and they can use a hat to deal with those ears. It'll have to do. Except the poor thing looks exhausted.]

You alright? Take a break if you need it.

I'm getting hungry again...

*He tries to get up to walk over to the lion carcass...but ends up just falling flat on his face.*

[He can't manage to hold back the laugh of surprise at seeing the poor kid faceplant, but man that's also kind of pathetic. Okay, okay, stay there.

He scrambles over to help him back to his feet.]

I can see we're gonna need some practice.

*Yeah, he's a bit wobbly even with help.*

My balance is wrong and these legs are weird.

[Dante keeps a hold of him to make sure he doesn't go breaking his nose.]

You'll get used to it. Takes some practice I'll admit.

*Well, at least the scrapes from his fall are healing up quick. But it takes him a few moments to figure out how to balance upright like this.*

My back is too light...

[It's that missing toe, you'd be amazed how important a pinkie toe is to balancing when you're learning to walk. Stop trying to stand like you've got a tail that's not helping your situation any.]

And your legs aren't shaped right, I know.

*He does eventually figure out how to balance on his own, though it's obviously taking him some concentration.*

[Good, good, now that he looks more stable Dante takes a step back, letting him try to stand on his own.]

*He wobbles a bit, but manages to stay on his feet. Then a slow, careful step forward. He ends up putting his toes down first rather than his heel, though, and ends up pushing his weight back upright instead of continuing to the next step.*

Mrrr...

Other way.

[He kicks off the other shoe and takes a few slow steps around the demon as demonstration, making sure to show him how to land the foot so he doesn't just tip himself backwards.]

Oh...it's different with hooves.

*But with the demonstration, he manages to get it and walks over to the remains of the lion to start tearing more meat off and chewing on it.*

I hadn't noticed.

[Dryly, why else would he be demonstrating for you? Silly devil. But good, you learn fast. Dante goes back to hunching near the doorway while the devil eats.

You know, it occurs to him he's not bothered to ask his name just yet. He'll get there.]

*He might have had trouble getting a name out of him before, anyway. Names are power when you're dealing with magic, you don't give your name out to someone you don't trust unless you're confident they can't use it against you.

But he seems fairly relaxed as he eats his fill of the meat then licks his fingers off and trundles over.*

[Dante wasn't keen on giving his out too quickly, either. You couldn't bind him so easily with his, but even so if he didn't know you then you didn't need to know him.

He'll ask later.

At the question he glances over his shoulder, seeming to consider.]

Ears are still kinda long, and the purple's gotta go. No such thing as a purple human, s'far as I know.
