• Body Swap: Holy shit. You're looking at yourself like you're looking in a mirror. The only problem is, when you're looking down at your own hands... you're in someone else's body.


• Gender Swap: Well, this is new; you're now no longer in the right body, but it's still yours. Were you always a girl? You sure weren't yesterday. Of course, this is probably another one of the city's tricks; no point in getting all up in arms about it, is there?


• Age Swap: Are you starting to see a pattern here? Now you're younger-- or older-- than you were a little while ago. Who're you going to bug about your height now?

I hadn't noticed.

[Dryly, why else would he be demonstrating for you? Silly devil. But good, you learn fast. Dante goes back to hunching near the doorway while the devil eats.

You know, it occurs to him he's not bothered to ask his name just yet. He'll get there.]

*He might have had trouble getting a name out of him before, anyway. Names are power when you're dealing with magic, you don't give your name out to someone you don't trust unless you're confident they can't use it against you.

But he seems fairly relaxed as he eats his fill of the meat then licks his fingers off and trundles over.*

[Dante wasn't keen on giving his out too quickly, either. You couldn't bind him so easily with his, but even so if he didn't know you then you didn't need to know him.

He'll ask later.

At the question he glances over his shoulder, seeming to consider.]

Ears are still kinda long, and the purple's gotta go. No such thing as a purple human, s'far as I know.

Color is easy.

*Okay, it's hard to get rid of the purple entirely since it's the color his magic manifests as, but he easily gets it down to a point where you have to be comparing it to a normal skin tone to notice it. He manages to shrink the ears a little...but they stay pointed.*

[Well, it'll do. Keep him out of direct sunlight and no one will even notice. The ears will be more of a problem. He frowns a little at the failed attempt, then eventually just shrugs it off.]

We'll get you a hat.

*He yawns, showing those pointy, pointy teeth of his, and rubs his eyes.*

I think I'm going to need to rest soon...

[Oh yeah, the teeth.]

One more thing, humans have flat teeth. But if you need to we can work on it more tomorrow.

[He doesn't plan on going anywhere tonight.]

*He's still rubbing at his eyes, the very picture of a drowsy little kid aside from the pointed ears, fangs and the fact that his anatomy has all the detail of a Ken doll. In fact, the kid doesn't seem to have a physical sex at all.*

[Which is really weird, and slightly off-putting. But at the same time there's no way Dante's teaching Alastor about those bits right now so you know what? Ken doll mode it is.

Little weird to consider that demons might not all have a gender. He'd ask, but the kid's tired so he'll leave him to it.]

Yeah, good idea. Get some rest. I got the door.

*He nods and toddles off to where he left Dante's coat, still a little unsteady on his new feet, then wraps himself up in the leather jacket and curls up with his arm as a pillow. After a moment, he glances back over at Dante.*

...Thank you.

[Well that comes as a surprise. He's quiet for a moment, just watching Alastor with an uncertain expression. It's not often he gets thanked for anything, sure it's not often he does much other than kill a few stray devils, but even then...]

Sure...

[What is taking gratitude? He does not know.

It's another several long moments before he moves, before Alastor falls asleep completely mind you, he gets up to shuffle over and lays down with his back facing the young devil. Still has to watch the cave entrance mind you, but he doesn't have to sit hunched up by the doorway all night.]

*He looks over when Dante gets up, but stays put and just wraps himself up more comfortably in the coat before closing his eyes.*

[He's not moving, just going to half-sleep watch the door all night while you rest. Dante hasn't really tired himself out yet, and honestly he doesn't sleep much as it is.]

*He wouldn't even sleep at all if he hadn't tired himself out. As it is, he still only stays out for a few hours before he yawns and sits up with a stretch.*

[Dante's still there, half-dozing when Alastor finally wakes. He doesn't bother moving just yet, but don't think he's not aware the devil's awake. Too lazy, even if the ground isn't incredibly comfortable.]

*He's a bit tense as he looks around and flexes his toes, then remembers how he got here and wobbles to his feet.*

I can't hunt like this...

[Dante finally props himself up on one elbow to look back at the little demon, letting out a huge yawn. Alright, alright, he gets the hint. Grumbling he gathers up his weapons while trying to brush his hair down into something reasonable.]

Yeah, yeah, sit tight. I'll see what I can scrounge up.

[He'd leave Alastor a weapon but, well, he saw what he did with that lightning. He'll be fine.]

Okay.

*He sits down...and promptly starts wiggling his toes again, staring at them in fascination. This feels weird. It's going to take some serious getting used to.*

[He'd already put his shoes back on at some point, so after snickering a bit at Alastor wiggling his toes he turns and heads out into the desert. He's bound to scrounge up something out there, right?

Turns out that something is a few snakes, lizards, and large burrowing rodents. Not exactly as impressive as Alastor's mountain lion, but it's food, right?]

*Better than nothing! He'll contentedly munch on Dante's catches, sitting crosslegged and once again getting blood all over his hands and face.*

[Bit of variety and they don't have to try to keep any of it, at least? But man you are a mess, gonna have to wash you up before they go into town again.]

You sure are a messy eater, we'll have to work on that too. Damn, how am I gonna blend you in?

It's hard not to be messy when what I'm eating is bleeding all over me.

Fair enough. You're still messy.

[He manages to not get himself completely bloody, but definitely seems to be having some trouble with the snake he's chewing on. More a moral dilemma than anything else, but too hungry to go scavenging for a fire right now.]

*He can fix that! He goes about licking his hands clean, then wipes his face with the back of his hand and licking that off too.*

[Don't mind the mildly mortified look. You're like a cat, a big, bloody, cat. He then just heaves a sigh. Well, it's an improvement.]
