4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

[ James looks over and his grin goes from cocky to genuine, his brown eyes crinkling excitedly. ]

Sirius! Oh good, you are here, then? I was wondering where you'd slipped off to, since we four were all together before I woke up--

[ He's too caught up to realize at first, but he stops short. With a chuckle, he motions up and down to indicate his appearance. ]

What's with the aging potion, Padfoot? Trying to pull one over on someone?

...close enough.

[He runs all ten fingers through his hair, still not over something James has said, so casually. 'We four'. The feelings of rage, guilt and betrayal are nothing new, but are put into sharp focus and he swallows again, tries to act past it.

Part of him recognizes it's futile, of course. He's spent most of his life putting on an act, but not around James. Never around James.]

Look, I... When did you get here?

Just yesterday. Found a nice Muggle who lent me a room for the night-- free of charge can you imagine that?

[ He's still looking baffled by that, but he notices the look on his friend's face. He knows Sirius too well-- no matter how much he's aged-- to let that pass by him. ]

What's troubling you? I mean, besides the obvious... What a bizarre place, huh?

Yeah, here you pretty much just walk into a place and say it's yours.

[Baffled him at first, but right now it's really low on the list of priorities.]

It's bizarre. [That's one word for it.] It's a... parallel universe. Something like that. Pulls in people from different places and times.

Okay, I think I follow you... [ Frowning. ]

So how are we busting out? We gotta get home, right?

Right.

[Home. He stares at James for a few moments before finally getting up, as good an excuse as any to avoid answering that question.]

I need a drink. Come on.

[ Apparating after him with another crack. He sets his jaw and nudges him as they walk to wherever Sirius is leading them-- he's not paying much attention. ]

Are you going to actually tell me what's the matter with you? I'm not daft, you know, I can tell when you're off.

Didn't sleep well.

[It's not a lie, although he truthfully hasn't slept well since... Some years ago. Of course, right now it's especially bad, just recently returned from Azkaban. But the outward signs are less telling than his mind would be. Although his diet consisting mainly of alcohol, coffee (black, of course) and chocolate really doesn't help either.]

[ Raising his eyebrows; he's thoroughly unconvinced. ]

Padfoot. Really. Do we normally sleep much on a regular basis?

[ One would probably think it was to stay up late doing their always lengthy Transfiguration essays. But it was mostly put that map of theirs that they worked so hard on to good use. ]

I don't know about you, Mssr Prongs, but I happen to keep very regular bedtime hours. With or without company.

[It's an every so stupid joke, but at least that makes it somewhat easy to slip into someone he hasn't been in years. Humour always had been his defense.]

[ Snorting despite his better judgment. The humor makes him breathe a little easier. ]

Well, you would know, now wouldn't you? How many years have we shared a dormitory now?

[He glances at James from the side and then, rather than answer right away, wraps an arm around his shoulders and makes sure he's really there. Surreal and painful and impossible to deal with, but part of him is still overjoyed despite everything.]

Way too long. You snore.
