I figure the Addams have family on both sides of any line, and there were likely Addams at any battleground - either running away, stealing bodyparts, or charging headfirst into battle and coming out unscathed every time. Is it something you'd be interested in playing out? I can think of a few ways he'd know her surname, and maybe seeing her being creepy would have him connect the two.
