The thunder storms of the previous few weeks seem to be easing off as we come to the end of August, save for a few rumblings in the final days edging into September. As we're moving out of summer, things are cooling down, the rain is sneaking back in and (thankfully enough) the biting insects are now gone. A few buildings may spring small leaks under the more severe downpours, but it's nothing that can't be dealt with using a bucket and fixed up when the rain stops.
City News
With the rain turning some parts of the plains and deeper woods into deceptive quagmires, there has been a rise in the presence of will-o'-the-wisps that can be easily noted by anyone venturing out at night and during the evenings.
The 'native' population of creatures have been as shaken by the sudden change as some of the city's residents, with most of the more intelligent of them retreating into hiding for now. The woods by the city are eerily quiet with the lack of the usual activity of the nymphs that inhabit it, the river flows silent without its normal occupants and the surface of the lake lies undisturbed. Those more aggressive creatures, though, such as the kelpies, grindylows and spriggan are taking advantage of the absence of their more benevolent companions.
Since the city's growth, the stores are now stocking less 'pre-made' items in the way of food and clothing and more raw ingredients and materials. The presence of The Emporium now offers residents the chance to discover items from home or needed objects, but for very particular prices that may very well require the co-operation of other residents.
Temper Vale was quick to remind Elena of what she owed him for the return of the Hotel ShinRa, but exactly what he'll require from her in return for this favour remains to be seen.

Between the showers and occasional downpours, chalk drawings have been showing up around the city, drawn on pavements and walls by none other than Roman Gulliver. Though some have their own particular artistic value, others might be seen as little more than graffiti.
Current and Upcoming Events
After the city's expansion and the shift of the areas surrounding it, there is far more to explore and more ways to potentially get into trouble. The Locations page has now been fully updated with all descriptions for currently listed areas and it's recommended that you skim even the ones that were already there, as a couple of small changes have been made.
The next event will be a Dream Walking event. Details and plotting are to come but in the meantime we encourage you to make the most of the game's setting! If you're uncertain of anything at all, don't hesitate to ask.
