September Test Drive!


Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.



Directions:
  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.

    1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

    2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

    3. The Beach: You can almost forget you're trapped, in a place like this...

    4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

    5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

    6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

    7. The Forest: Not a great place to be caught alone, but are you alone?

    8. Wildcard: Pick anything from our list!


    Scenarios

    1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

    2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

    3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

    There were lots of things wrong with being a potted plant. One of those things was the lack of mobility. When Groot was a more than a little sapling, he could grow tall and regenerate and move. But now as a sapling he was stuck in this pot and only able to move his arms. Of course he always went where Rocket went so things weren't that bad. There was no Groot without Rocket and vice versa. The two were nearly inseparable even now that he was immobilized for the time being.

    Well, they were mostly inseparable. Rocket had gone off to examine the large ruby that was going to give them plenty of units to live like kings for the rest of their lives. Of course, Groot was left to catch the rays of the sun now that the weather had cleared up some. However, he was still alone and feeling a little useless.

    He pushed himself against the soil of his pot in a futile attempt to uproot himself. It doesn't work and he attempts to regenerate some vines, but a small leaf or two only pop out from his head. Exhausted, he gave a sigh and sunk into the soil, feeling completely useless.

    "I am Groot..."

    Loki heard the words before he saw the plant, and looked around for the source before uncloaking himself and bending to pick up the pot.

    "Hey..." He blinked, thinking for a moment. "I know who you are." He paused. "Wait, don't say it--!"

    Oh, someone was here. Groot had no idea who this person was but they approached him and-oh, he was also being picked up. Another unfortunate side effect of being temporarily confined to a pot. He tilted his head at the individual (a Xandarian? A Terran?). He had no idea who they were but then again, he couldn't remember every single individual he had met.

    "I am Groot!" He said rather proudly.

    Now how did this person know him?

    "I am Groot?" Had they met before? Groot did not know who this person was, nor where Asgard was. Perhaps it was off past Planet X in a direction he had not explored, yet. He also did not know how this Loki knew he used to be taller, either. Very strange.

    He did frown at the taller comment, though. He did not enjoy being as small as he was right now. While it was nice to sit back and enjoy the sun, it wasn't ideal, especially when others could simply pick him up.

    "I am Groot." He bent over to pat Loki's hand. Please put him down. Rocket would be back for him soon.

    "I've heard about you," Loki explained. Yes, he could understand him perfectly. "You and the other Guardians of the Galaxy. But I've never had the pleasure of meeting you before."

    He set him down. "So you have a friend coming for you?"

    Ah, that's where this person knew him from! He probably heard about their battle with Ronan. Rocket did say they would be famous after that. Good to know it was actually happening.

    "I am Groot!" He gave a smile of appreciation as he was out down. Yes, Rocket would be back for him soon as soon as he figured out how to get the large gem. Normally he would help, but... He gave a sigh.

    "I am Groot..."

    Loki nodded, plunking himself down on a bench instead to talk to Groot. "You're pretty tiny. But you'll grow again, won't you? Or are you doomed to be a twig forever now?"

    It's probably a good thing Jilbax decided to walk instead of fly for the moment, or he never would have noticed the little potted plant sitting there. If that had been all he wouldn't have given a shit, but on second look he realized it was moving.

    "... The hell?"

    Curious, he squatted next to the plant to inspect it. Hope you don't mind a three-foot-tall weirdo poking at your face, Groot.

    Groot stared up at the strange creature looking at him. He had never seen anybody like that before. He wondered where they were from.

    Well he did until he was poked in the face by the creature.

    "I am Groot!" He tried batting the large hand away with his small vine-like arms. When he was a full sized flora colossus he never had to deal with this!.

    So, the little guy could talk! Jilbax laughed and pulled his hand back, acquiescing for now. Instead he offered a finger to the tiny arm for a handshake. "Groot, huh? I'm Jilbax," he said. "So what the hell are you, like some kind of plant sprite? I didn't even think that was a thing."
