Have you ever wanted your very own sorcerer?
As can be seen here, Gold's little hiding place for his dagger has been exposed rather unknowingly by Touma.
If your character is the type to be perceptive enough to notice the clues lying hidden about, you have a chance to possibly discover the fact that someone's buried something there.
Admittedly, it is a small one, since if Gold should believe that simply reestablishing the barrier is not an option, he will go dig it up himself and move it to another location; and after he's dug it up til it's been re-hidden, the dagger will remain either on his person or rest warded in his house.
Still, the fact remains that it is currently possible to go snooping around and if observant and intelligent enough about nature, it shouldn't be any problem to find the dig site.
The real factor of challenge I suspect is time, from the moment Gold feels the barrier go down, he's going to be keeping an eye over the area via Gloria, and debating on if he should simply replace the barrier or dig the dagger up and move it.
Thus should he notice too much activity in the area the window of opportunity will begin closing rapidly as he'll have the issue decided by the perceived threat of impending discovery and he'll pop on down there to reclaim it before anyone else can get hold of it. (Depending on how close people are to claiming it, if he's allowed (ooc-ly) to use magic on the characters, he will abruptly freeze them completely, as in they will freeze and time for them will stop until he undoes the affect after he's finished what he needs to do.)
If your character should decide to dig up what is buried, you'll get your hands on one rather special cursed kris dagger.
See the bottom of this entry for what can be done with it should you come into possession of it. Also it should likely be known, that until the man is assured that your character has no intentions of ever using the dagger, anyone who happens to gain possession of it automatically gains negative CR with Gold, that depending on the actions taken while in possession of the dagger could result in death (with player permission; elsewise; one could excuse lack of demise as him deciding that due to the lack of permanence of death, it's not worth killing them)
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

That being said he has the ability to actually find where it's hidden if that helps. He'll wonder why someone was shielding a certain spot with their own magic, and like a dick, will go looking for whatever they're hiding regardless of how long it takes to find it.
But what are you going for?

I'm up for bring rather mean to my muse, so since it would appear that (MCU) Loki's the only one interested in this lil mystery and is capable of no doubt hiding his interest from the sentry Gold has stationed (the gold firelizard) , I would think it could be entirely possible for Gold be be unaware of Loki's intent and actions, up to the point where Loki lays hand on the dagger.
At that point, there's nothing he can do beyond bluster and bluff to try and get it back. Any thought as to what Loki might do with the knife once he got hold of it?
Unless commanded to, Gold will be closed mouthed on discussing the curse on it or just what the dagger's capable of forcing him to do, not to mention the fact the dagger is the only thing capable of actually killing him.
How far things go and how nasty they get I'll leave to you, but I would like for someone(?) or something to eventually shift ownership of the dagger back to Gold, before November AC comes around. Of course, as stated above and in the permissions, Gold's apt to be rather irate and prone to murder once he's his own man once again.
If you'd rather not deal with a magic duel to the death - so to speak - I'm sure I can find an excuse for him to refrain from it. He's going to be rather hateful to the man after regardless, though likely not outright hostile. I don't know if you've seen any OUAT, but there's a woman called Cora that he's enemies with at one point. His relations with her at that point reflect well the attitude he'd be directing toward Loki.
But if Loki wants to cause trouble via ordering Gold around/to do things, I'm up for that. Gold will hate it, because depending on what Loki orders, it's quite possible they'll kill the false image he's fostered up until now to get the majority of people in the city to trust him as being a 'good' man that is willing to aid people for a price.
If you want to chat up plotting on AIM, I'm carminejackal on there. I've not been on plurk lately, but if you'd rather plot there I could jump back onto it. I'm silverjade on Plurk. PM's also work if you'd rather plot there instead of here or the other two places.
