THE PIMP MY CANON MEME
Ever wondered why those other players aren't as excited about your fandoms as you are?
Here's your chance to get them hooked. Use the form to advertise your canon and let the rest of us know what we're missing out on.
Canons you haven't apped from yet but are planning to also count!

DANGANNNN RONPAAAAAA
Dingus RomcomDoomgun RumbleDangit RumparoniDangan Ronpa/Super Dangan Ronpa 2YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Okay so technically...it's kind of about teenagers killing one another and then having really disorderly court investigations because if they don't figure out whodunnit they'll ALL get killed. But really it's about hope and friendship and murder and moving forward while shouldering responsibility for yourself!
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE!

Okay no um here, there's something for everyone.
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? Both games are available in English on the Playstation Vita, and there are Let's Plays on YouTube with both the Japanese and English voice acting.
ANYTHING ELSE? I WANT ALL THE CASTMATES FROM EITHER GAME but I'm particularly partial to Koizumi Mahiru, the SHSL Photographer.

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? As one source put it: it's the single manliest game about girls in frilly dresses shooting at each other with thousands of bullets. More specifically: It's about a land separated from the rest of the world known as Gensokyo which is populated by things which have fallen into mythology in the outside world. Lots of youkai, magic, and booze. The main heroine of the series is Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden who is really kind of a jerk when you break it down -- but she's an absolutely talented jerk.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE! Well, let's see here:
The main gameplay, summarized in some pretty ludicrously difficult cards from Imperishable Night.
Is that too much for you? Maybe try one of the HUNDREDS of fangames in a myriad of different genres instead, including a series of Super Robot Wars clones!
"But Badge," you say! "I don't like video games!" Pfft. Fine. Have an example of one of the multiple fan animes instead. Not even shitting you; this is professional tier stuff.
And this isn't even getting into the TERABYTES of music remixes, fan comics, canon side materials, and other stuff.
Or, to summarize in one perfect image:
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? Well, you can get a lot of translated doujins at Gensokyo.org, and you can usually find a lot of the remixes and videos on Youtube. However, for most of the doujin and main games, you'll have to turn to slightly less licit means of obtaining them, like torrents and the like.
Note I said MOST: You can buy the most recent game in the main series from Playism digitally now.
ANYTHING ELSE? This series has tons of characters. Chances are you'd be able to find one that suits your personality. And the whole series passes the Bechdel test pretty much completely. Who doesn't want to play drunk girls in pretty skirts shooting each other?
...okay, Byakuren doesn't get drunk. But she's a stick in the mud.

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? A bunch of hormonal teenagers have to summon mindbeasts to fight shadow monsters. In Persona 3, the Shadows appear in a hidden hour at midnight. In Persona 4, they are found in a world within TVs, accessible only by Persona-users. I can explain what the deal is with anything you're wondering about the series.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE! A bunch of cute kids, fighting to save the world.
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? Well you're in luck, since you can consume Persona canon in any medium you like. There are fighting games (Arena/Ultimax), anime, manga, movies, several remakes (P3 Portable on PSP and P4 Golden on Vita), and even a live P4 musical. There's also Persona Q for 3DS, and the upcoming P4 spinoff version of Project Diva called "Dancing All Night"!
ANYTHING ELSE? MINATO, MINATO, MINATO! Aigis' world revolves around this guy, and it was thanks to him that she learned to be human, and what it meant to do things for herself instead of following orders. He is everything to her.
Other castmates would be fantastic, most importantly would be Fuuka (her and Labrys' primary mechanic back home and a close friend), Mitsuru or Akihiko. Any of the "Shadow Operatives" from P4 Arena/Ultimax.

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
ALRIGHT YOU GOT THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE REALLY INCREDIBLE AND THESE OTHER PEOPLE THAT CAN BE INCREDIBLE TOO BUT THEY'RE BAD SO THE GOOD INCREDIBLE PEOPLE HAVE TO STOP THE BAD ONES NO THIS IS NOT THE INCREDIBLES. ALSO YOU'VE GOT LIKE THESE INDIVIDUAL STORIES THAT ALL INTERTWINE AND COME TOGETHER AND COOL ACTION SHOTS THAT GO BOOM BAM KABLAM POW AND PEOPLE KICK ASS AND TAKE NAMES AND THEY'RE SO SASSY TOO THEY SHOULD JUST BE CALLED SASSVENGERS AND HAVE YOU GUYS LOOKED AT CAPTAIN AMERICA'S ASS- I MEAN COME ONIt's about super heroes and their origin stories. Each movie is kind of a set up for a bigger Avengers movie where they all team up to fight the big bad, and there are some great main and secondary characters that are absolutely great and have a lot of depth. Action shots are really awesome, and the jokes can be pretty funny. They're not too heavy, and most of the time they're feel good action movies (is that a thing?)...Except for The Winter Soldier because that's got some sad/super serious stuff going on. There's some really great origins, too. Personally, I think Iron Man might have the best origin story but I also might be a little biased.
It's just a lot of super fun movies about super heroes! Guardians of the Galaxy is also part of MCU so you get some really great things like Vin Diesel tree and Bradly Cooper as a Raccoon.
Oh! And there's Agents of SHIELD and the New Agent Carter Series that's gonna start.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE!
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? Netflix is stupid and dumb and doesn't have the movies outside of the Avengers but that's a nice
gateway drugway to get into it SO GO WATCH THE AVENGERS. I think Amazon Prime has the rest of the movies though. But if you're old school like me, your local video rental place or library probably has all of them! I'm sure you can buy all the movies on amazon ebay, target or even walmart so there's that! Also like, we've got the best Honest Trailers so watch that. Also This one
ANYTHING ELSE? Include castmates you are really hoping for, or the like.
I really really really really want a Rhodey, but I also want Natasha, Clint, Thor, Darcy, Nick, Starlord, Gamora, ANYBODY.
COME TO ME CASTMATES BE A PART OF THE SUPER SECRET BOY BAND

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
To Aru Majutsu no Index: The story follows the most unfortunate teenager in existence as he gets involved in increasingly horrible situations with magicians and the occasional mad scientist.
To Aru Kagaku no Railgun: An electric tsundere has amazing adventures in a city of SCIENCE!
To Aru Kagaku no Ippou Tsuukou: A villain tries to be a good protagonist after being punched in the face.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE! How about a MAD?
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? Unfortunately, the majority of the light novels (Old Testament) have been purged. You need to either use a time machine or search the internet for the pdfs. As for the rest (New Testament and side-stories), they can be found here.
The two manga side-stories can both found here and here.
Index and Railgun both have an anime, but story wise they are behind (especially Index) and I personally find the original source material to be far better.
ANYTHING ELSE?

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Visual novel/puzzle/murder mystery series set in the near future in California
except it’s actually Japan don’t believe what the Western version tells you, where you play a defense attorney who has to get their clients off the hook in three days. Cross examine witnesses, present evidence that contradicts witness statements, get bullied by dick prosecutor rivals and don’t piss off the judge. If your client gets declared guilty, it’s Game Over. The game is full of jokes, glorious pop culture references and characters that you will regret emotionally investing yourself in. Oh, and you don’t need to know law to understand the game – seriously, don’t bother trying to apply real life laws to it or you’ll just get annoyed.Oh, and you get to cross-examine a parrot. I am not kidding.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE!

Also inane conversations in trials:
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? The first three games (Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace attorney – Justice For All and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations) can be found on the Nintendo DS and iOS and will also be released in December for download on the 3DS.
The fourth game, Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, can be found on the Nintendo DS.
The fifth game, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is found for download on the 3DS and the iOS.
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth can be found on the DS. The second Miles Edgeworth game aka Gyakuten Kenji 2 was sadly not released outside Japan because Capcom thinks we only like Street fighter grrrrr but there has been a fan translation released titled: Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth – A Prosecutor’s Path.
ANYTHING ELSE? Which castmates do I want? OH GOSH WHERE DO I START? Mia Fey, Dick Gumshoe, Manfred Von Karma, Ema Skye, Lana Skye, Larry Butz, Damon Gant, Matt Engarde, Pearl Fey, Adrian Andrews, Godot, Dahlia Hawthorne, Iris, Apollo Justice, Trucy Wright, Kristoph Gavin, Klavier Gavin, Kay Faraday, Shi Long Lang, Calisto Yew, Vera Misham, Athena Cykes, Simon Blackquill, Bobby Fulbright, Gregory Edgeworth and others I haven't thought of! Any AAI2 characters would be great although idk if they count as appable yet.
OH BOY HERE WE GO
YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Nao, you might ask me, what the hell is up with fifty million canons starting with 'Fate' and a slash before it? DO NOT BE ALARMED, FRIENDS. Much like your average franchise, there are a lot of spinoffs and side materials! What we're going to be looking at is the main series, which boils down to two series in a couple different formats!
Fate/Zero
Zero is the prequel to Fate/stay night. Like FSN, it tells the stories of seven Masters who summon mythological figures called Servants to fight in a war for the Holy Grail, an artifact said to create miracles and grant a wish. Zero focuses primarily upon Kiritsugu Emiya and his fight to have the Grail grant his wish--but the rest of the cast, Servant and Master alike, all have considerable roles in a bittersweet story of tragedy, subterfuge, backstabbing, and the occasional serial murder.
Fate/stay night
Ten years after Fate/Zero, Kiritsugu Emiya's ideals and dreams have been picked up by his adopted son, Shirou. But after accidentally summoning a Servant calling herself Saber, Shirou stumbles headfirst into the next war for the Holy Grail himself. But in all three routes, he'll find himself confronting the remnants of the previous war and finishing Kiritsugu's fight in one way or another.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE!
Fate/Zero - Kiritsugu Emiya vs Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi
Fate/stay night - Archer vs Lancer
Fate/stay night visual novel - Alter ego (it's shittons of exposition but i had to show my kotomine bias somewhere)
and hell, take this AMV because it's hype as shit
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? This is the slightly overwhelming part.
Fate/Zero
You can download the anime here or Netflix has both dubbed and subbed versions.
The light novels in a somewhat tricky to parse translation can be found here.
Fate/stay night
Here is a perfectly detailed LP of the visual novel, including video and audio. (Since, shock of shocks, FSN is actually something of an H-game, this is to my knowledge the censored version.)
A new anime series covering the Unlimited Blade Works route is going to be streaming on Crunchyroll and is being covered by horriblesubs if waiting's not your thing. The same studio is also going to be producing a movie (or two?? I'M UNCLEAR) based on the
kirei routeHeaven's Feel route.ANYTHING ELSE? give me emiyas or give me death.
SINCE I KNOW THIS IS A BIT COMPLICATED AND I AM BAD AT SUMMARIES, PLS TO BE ASKING ALL YOUR QUESTIONS NOW
and if my fellow castmates would like to weigh in please feel free

YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Once upon a time a man named Lee Myung-Jin started releasing a Manhwa called Ragnarok, which told the story of a young man named Chaos who (plot twist!!) happened to be the reincarnation of the Norse God Baldr. Together with his friends, Sara Irine, Fenris Fenrir, Loki, Lydia and Ses and Reina, he went on adventures through the kingdom of Rune-Midgards, all the while battling Freyja's twelve Valkyries and then some guy named Sakray. Unfortunately the story was never finished, but on the upside (?? I hope?) this happened because it gave way to an MMORPG known as Ragnarök Online. You might remember it as that one game with the isometric view or better yet as the game witht he cute pink blob monster. Or you might have played it, idk. Long story short, as an MMORPG, your character is Just Another Average Adventurer, you level up in one of many classes and you go on quests. The fun thing is, each update added up the the world of the game, effectively bringing it closer and closer to the manhwa until the main cast was finally introduced as a group of NPCS (and then, supposedly, the game "ends" with the actual Ragnarök of norse mythology. And then there was a sequel. Oops?)
The game is really vast, involving three different nations and several separate cities as part of a global project, then some of the other realms besides Midgard although regretfully they don't have as much impact in playability for the most part. I'm going to provide a handful of links, should you get curious about what some of them are about or what they look like!
Some parts of the game (like specific patches, NPCs or boss monsters) became popular enough that there are small fandoms around them - namely the Biolabs! Margaretha Sorin, the character I'm playing, is a boss monster from that very update - a former high priestess who was kidnapped and experimented on and when she died, she came back as ghost with a huge thirst for revenge and that's the character your adventurer fights against. But don't worry, that's not her canon point in Ruby City.

SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? iRO - the official server, which so happens to be free! Alternatively, you can check out ratemyserver for independent/modded servers. I believe it's also on Steam. :)
ANYTHING ELSE? MMORPGs are time-consuming and I admit I'm not expecting people to play from this, but either way I hope you enjoy reading up on it a bit, if you do! Of course I'd love to have castmates (fellow biolabs people or otherwise) and would love to play off of a Seyren Windsor and some others, but mostly I'm here to have fun and even if you don't know the canon very well, please feel free to tag Margaretha, ask questions, etc etc.
HOMESTUCK
YEAH AND WHAT'S IT ABOUT? It starts out with a bunch of dumb thirteen-year-olds wrestling with their single parents/dog and their convoluted inventory mechanics. Then they start playing a computer game that's basically IRL-The-Sims and moving each other's toilets to weird places. Then Earth is destroyed by meteors. Now it's up to the four of them to defeat the evil boss(es) and also grow up and discover themselves!
*WARNING: May contain a shitload of time travel, author self-insertion, upwards of two juggalos, an obsession with Nic Cage that borders on the fetishistic, cat puns, fish puns, horse puns, pun puns, everyone you love dying horribly, and Dave.
I NEED A VISUAL REFERENCE! here, have some actual panels (plus one 100% accurate summary of the series)
SO WHERE CAN I GET IT? At mspaintadventures.com! It's been on hiatus for about a year, but supposedly it's supposed to update again soon. You'll know when it happens because the internet will implode probably.
ANYTHING ELSE? If you have heard Homestuck is monstrously long, you're 100% correct. It may or may not be one of the longest works of fiction in the English language. By word count it's longer than Atlas Shrugged. HOWEVER, it is also way more fun to read than Atlas Shrugged! It's fully illustrated, has some epic movie cutscenes (as well as a bunch of stupid movie cutscenes), interactive segments, and its own official soundtrack. Plus it contains some of the best/worst rap battles in the history of paradox space. Ayn Rand wishes she could drop beats this sicknasty.
Also the fandom is wicked awesome, practically untrollable, and contains some goddamn amazing artists.
Obviously anyone and everyone apped would be awesome. Although naturally I am partial to Solluxes, because of reasons.
