March Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

"Brat" He says fondly. "He really is like you. Ai, my poor old bones will be so stressed, having to keep up with you both. Mm. He reminds me a lot of you though. He has your spirit, I think. Brave and bold, a little impetuous. Noble and strong but kind."
no subject
Now was no different, and only mirth met the light swat, no fear entered his eyes as he listened to that voice speak. Elros was unrepentant, of course, as he reached up and caught that hand, then gently tugged it down to hold onto. Pride spread through him at hearing how his descendant took after him. "Then we shall have to leave you to rest upon a time!" Or not.
"You would have us no other way," he murmured warmly. Confident in the truth of his words.
no subject
"Hmm, I will believe that when I see it, little sprat. But you are, of course, correct. I was glad... I am glad, to see how well you grew, the sort of Men your line produced."
no subject
He let another grin flash as his foster father showed he knew him well. He gave Maglor's hand a fond squeeze as the grin settled back to a smile. "As am I glad to hear it continues so well."
no subject
"You would be proud" Maglor nods. "Oh, it was not all good things, of course. But Aragorn is your very image, in many ways - not in looks, I think, although he is close enough akin that any with eyes should be able to tell so. But in spirit, yes - very much it is as if you walked again."
no subject
'As if you walked again' ah, his poor foster father. His poor brother, as well. For there to be two of him, more than just in appearance. "That is good to hear." Not all good things had him worried though, and he studied Maglor closely for clues as to what he might mean.
no subject
"Mm, Elrond is very fond of him - or will be, I suppose. He is from before then. But he kept a close eye on your descendents and was ever there if they needed him."
no subject
He was far too curious to stop, and what Maglor did say was nice. There was just something off about it. "Have they not had much time here?" But there was relief in hearing those words. His brother continued to look out for him, even when he was long dead. If there was anyone he trusted to take on such a role, it was Elrond.
no subject
"Not long, no - Elrond has been here ... a few weeks? I think... and Aragorn less than that. Barely enough time for them to get to know each other, although I think it will not be long before they are close again."
no subject
Elros could accept time being a factor in that, then. Knowing his brother as he did, as well as himself. His faint smile held something wistful to it. "I am certain of it as well."
no subject
"Well, if Aragorn is half as stubbornly persistent as you I am sure it will not take long at all. He misses being close to your brother, I think, and the distance sits uneasy with him."
no subject
Now he worried for his brother. More than before. Elrond... Elros latched onto that. "How is Elrond?"
no subject
"He does as well as he can, seeing that he is drawn from yet another War. He draws comfort, I think, from knowing that they will win, that all his hard work will not be wasted. But... War is never a good time for your gentle brother."
Gentle, the way Maglor is gentle. The calmer, quieter one, more apt to words than deeds, but no less dangerous for all that. But War is never kind to the healers.
no subject
"When was the Last Alliance?" Would he join his brother in that war? Or would Elrond walk that alone?
no subject
"The War of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men (although, in truth, the name is a misnomer, for it was not the last alliance, although certainly the last of that size) was fought in the Second Age, in the years 3429, ending with the defeat although not final banishing of Sauron in 3441."
So yes. Elros was long dead by then. Maglor's hand tightens on Elros' in support.
no subject
Elros didn't speak, heart aching at the new knowledge. The tight grip was returned as he fought to stay still for a long few minutes. But he was not one able to stay still for long, even as grown as he was. Soon he pulled away from Maglor by standing, fingers finally releasing the older's hands.
He stepped closer to the edge of the waves, looking out over the water. Watching that physical form of turmoil that sang to him. He had regrets, of course. But he wouldn't change his actions. Even if it left two without the other half of themselves.
no subject
We are many things Maedhros had said But the sons of Feanor do not lie. Our word we keep - both for good and for ill.
Maglor lets Elros pull away, giving him the time he needed before stepping up beside him, hand going to his shoulder in support.
"Your many-time grandsons fought beside Elrond in that war. I am sure he was grateful that you were by his side in spirit, if not in flesh."
But unspoken goes the fact that Maglor was not there (well. He was, kinda. Just. Not in any of the official armies. No reason to give Oropher even more reasons to be angry with the Noldor than he already had)
no subject
He knew Maglor would give him space before giving support once more. And when it came, he leaned into the hand on his shoulder a little with a quiet sigh. Listening to the added information.
Unofficially was better than not at all. Elros found a faint smile return.
"As I always will be." And vice versa. He couldn't count how many times he'd made himself step back a bit and think of what his twin would do. And he didn't see that changing, if only for the comfort of imagination and memory combining.
no subject
"I am sure he knows it." Maglor nods. "There is nothing stronger than the bond between brothers."
no subject
But also with a fierce, unwavering love.
Elros shifted over just enough that he could slip an arm loosely around Maglor's waist, leaning into him comfortably. Trusting his foster father wouldn't let him fall.
"No stronger bond than between family and close kin."
It still hurt. It probably always would. But he would bear it.
no subject
"Mm. He will be glad to see you again."
no subject
"Later. I will find him later."
He still had Maglor he wanted to spend some time with.
LOOK WE POSSIBLY FINISHED ANOTHER THREAD????
Maglor chides affectionately, and savors the opportunity to hold one he has not seen for Two Ages of the world (he saw him at his death bed, the last time, creeping in to give a final farewell to one he considered as a son, for all that he knows he should not, and he did not stay to see him buried. But it was after that that he came down to the valley for the first time, knowing that Elrond would need him).
OMG
"Before sun set, I will hunt him down."
Yes. He had to say it exactly like that. The tension and strain of the knowledge Maglor had given him was still there, but easing. In part due to having Maglor with him, offering him affection and support and letting him lean on him a little.
WE ROCK
