March Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

David Nolan/Prince Charming | Once Upon A Time (End of Season 2)
And the atmosphere was a lot more pleasant than that tavern the Pirates frequented.
Or so he'd heard. Shepherds/princes don't go to places like that. But, he can't find anyone around to take his order.]
Hello? Is someone here?
Have a grandson
Seeing his other grandfather, he dashed over for a hug.] Grandpa!
Well, not the first person I was expecting!
Henry, what are you doing here?
[And is he alone?]
Where's your mother?
Oh? I hope I'm not intruding then.
Regina here's and Mr Gold's here. [He wasn't going to bother with Baelfire. Not yet anyway.]
I'm here too, obviously. We were all kidnapped. But that's not the important question. The important question is: What was the last major event that happened before you arrived here?
Never! Charming is always happy to see Henry!
But the answer's not satisfactory. Regina and Gold. It's like Storybrooke, but without the important women in his life.]
Snow...Your grandmother...defeating Cora.
have only watched s1, hope this is alright?
And, that little bit about her daughter being all grown up with a child of her own.
Thankfully, the tavern sells hot chocolate, and she doesn't mind adding a dash of cinnamon. Or making the drink. ]
It seems to be a 'serve yourself' kind of place.
[ says the petite brunette at the corner table. ]
You've given me Snow. Who am I to complain?
And, god, does she look great.
He strolls over to her, smiling only for her.]
I was hoping there'd be a cute bar wench to take my order.
you're giving snow her charming, so it works out a little
Still, one of the two people she loves most in the world is right in front of her, and she can't argue with that. Or keep a smile off her face. ]
Cute bar wenches seems to be as out of season here as barkeeps.
[ Snow sets down her mug and rises from the chair. ]
Don't suppose I'd work as a substitute?
Best couple is best.
Pity. The service around here is worse than at Regina's.
[As soon as she's on her feet, he wraps his arms around her and kisses her soundly.]
No one could be a substitute for you, Snow.
They really are.
Really? [ head tilt. ] I think you'd look pretty dashing behind that bar.
[ She grins up at him, arms winding around his waist, and returns said kiss. ]
Good. That means I don't have to punch anyone for trying to steal you away.
[ He was caught fair and square. ]
How long have you been here?
no subject
Dashing? I wasn't aware that that was still in my job description.
[But he'd do anything for her. And he's pretty sure she knows that by now.]
If it comes to blows, my money's always on you. I've seen you in a fight. [She packs a mean right hook that he doesn't want to experience again, that's for sure.] I've been here for a few hours. I've spent most of it exploring on foot.
no subject
He approaches the other man and pauses by the counter where a tender would typical be if the place had a regular one.]
Yes. I don't believe this place has any regular workers, you might need to serve yourself.
[If you want a drink, he might get them both something to drink if asked nicely enough.]
no subject
But, a familiar face is a familiar face, especially in a strange world.
And he could really use a beer right now.]
What kind of tavern is serve yourself?
no subject
This city doesn't seem to have any natives, so it falls to those brought here to run things. I'm guessing that no one is currently interested in manning this particular place. Thus the lack of help.
[And excuse him as he moves to head behind the counter where all the bottles are, looking for the one he wanted.]
no subject
This is worse than Storybrooke then. At least there, we were the natives, for what that was worth.
You seem comfortable here. Why is that?
no subject
[He's actually serious on that one, dead serious given he's fought his share of those monsters.]
Because I've been here for little over a year now.
[Ah, there's the bottle he was looking for. He pulls it down and goes in search of a tumbler to use now.]
no subject
[How many cursed people had Gold, Regina and Maleficent made over the years? David wasn't sure there was an actual tally anymore.]
A year? That doesn't make any sense. I just saw you yesterday.
no subject
That's the funny thing about this place. People are capable of coming here from various different points in time. When you arrive, time is frozen back where you come from. When you return, it picks right back up where you left off. I've experienced it twice, that going back and returning bit.
[And he locates the tumblers he'd been looking for, he picks one of them up and heads back around to the public area of the counter. David may notice the lack of cane, not to mention the lack of any limp as he walks to set both bottle and glass on the bar top not too far from the prince.]
So humor me, have you been to Neverland yet?
[He opens the bottle as he asks the question, moving to pour a finger of whisky into the glass.]
no subject
I've heard of worse things. [Part of the joy of being from a land of magic, honestly. This wasn't the most outlandish thing he'd heard.] Do you remember anything that happened to you when you go back home?
[Actually, David does notice the lack of cane and limp, but it's not the first time he's seen Gold like that either. Rumpelstiltskin doesn't always play by the same rules as everyone else, even when working with others.]
No, we were on Hook's ship out of Storybrooke before I wound up here. Which, I'm still not sure how it happened.
no subject
No, you don't. It's as if you've never departed for this city in the first place. I was on the Jolly Roger when I first was brought here, when I was sent back that first time, I went right back to the second I'd been taken, no memory of ever having left the ship at all.
[He took a small sip at the memory of just when he'd been brought back and turned his mind to the mystery of their being here in the first place.]
Surprised you're not blaming me for that. [He murmured quietly.} Of course if you did, I'd have to set you straight. I'm not responsible, in fact our esteemed hosts are even more powerful than I am. No one really knows how people are ripped from their worlds to be placed upon that train that brings you to the city. We do know that it's a one way trip unless the city decides itself to send you back home.
[But as is obvious, just because one is sent home, doesn't mean they stay home.]
My OUAT character is Bae, thus would not work, but I think he and Kaylin could be fun!
"Do you need assistance?" her tone could have suited well to a cop or a guard of some sort.
David isn't against meeting new people
"Just wondering who's in charge around here if I want a drink. I haven't seen anyone in here since I arrived."
no subject
Not that she ever had coin to spare. She was still trying to set up work here, but her stomach was growling more and more often. She was living on pity from strangers like she was 13 again, doing the odd job here or there for a meal while she waited to hear back about hiring on to work a beat, uphold laws, protect the people.
Her stomach growled loudly, as if to emphasize her mental point. She scowled at it.
no subject
Yes, he was "Prince Charming", but that didn't stop him from paying for the things he needed, both back in the Enchanted Forest and back in Storybrooke.
He slid behind the bar, digging around until he found two bottles of beer. He opened them both and gave one to the young woman before looking around more. "Well, if this is a bar. There's gotta be a kitchen somewhere. I haven't seen one yet that didn't offer some sort of food, however questionable the quality."
no subject
She considered. "There also could be something you missed. If this were like a fief, the people you saw could belong to the leader. What they can do because anyone is afraid to tick him or her off, you could not do."
And her? In Nightshade or Tiamaris, she probably could do the same, walk into a shop, take whatever she wanted and leave. However the only way she could see herself doing that is if the thing she took was a person, not a thing. She would walk in, take a child out of a bad situation, and deal with the consequences later. She took a corpse that way soon after Nightshade marked her, after all.
But an item? Something just for greed? No... she might have a lot of wants, but she was legal now, she was on the right side of the law. She never wanted to return to being the penniless orphan who stole to survive.
Regretfully, she pushed the beer aside and put her head on her arms. She wanted it, she wanted food...
but her days of being a thief were over. And if she slid once, it would be too easy to do things in this strange place that...
Not that would make it hard to see herself in a mirror. The Gods knew how rarely her mirror actually showed her her own face. Especially before work. But... the faces she did see most often there. Marcus. Marin. She couldn't stand to see how they might look at her.
And she couldn't stand the fact that Ybelline would understand, and that she would crave that understanding and acceptance.
No. She would starve before she would become that again.
Just... don't ask her what would happen if a child's life hung in the balance.
