Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

"Exactly. The people here, the people who brought us here I mean, they seem to have some sort of advanced magic or technology to make it happen. To make lots of things happen. It's no picnic living here. And that's ignoring the time issues."

Henry gives Pongo a stroke too. "Sorry, did I forget you?" Thinking the huff was due to stroking his own puppy and not both.

Fortunately they hadn't yet attracted anything from the park, perhaps his actions in approaching had made things think twice about tangling with him. He helped Archie hobble his way a reasonable distance out away from the catacombs before he paused and knelt to quietly examine the afflicted ankle. "Nothing too serious fortunately."

It took but a moment's concentration and Archie might feel a brief comforting warmth center about his ankle that took away any pain he might be suffering from. "There we are. Now we can get out of this death trap they call a park."

Gold straightened up, getting back to his feet. "Shall we?" He asked gesturing in the direction of the city.

[Well, she did like to hear herself talk. But the real reason she wasn't killing him right now had to do with a certain promise she made to another resident. One with a rather delicious tasting blood.]

Zhose zhat are left alive are zhe ones zhat deserve to be. Survival of zhe fittest~. Plus vho knows, maybe ve inspired a future dictator! Vouldn't zhat be something to be proud of? I think zo.

"What other things are here? Besides the time issues?"

Pongo hadn't meant for Henry to pet him, but he wasn't going to argue the point. He leaned into the pet, tilting his head to give the boy's hand a quick lick of appreciation.

The sudden throbbing of his ankle disappearing stunned Archie for a moment. So apparently this was a magic user.

"Thank you," he said, getting to his feet. Then he paused, finally recognizing his rescuer. "Mr. Gold?"

It iz easy to see vhy. Zhe has a rather dark past. It vas quite interesting to watch when Zorin took a peak. Oh, so you enjoyed being feasted upon? Perhaps they is someone elze who will indulge you.

"Not much that you can see. What you see is what you get. But every so often, something happens. Like Grandpa not able to understand English. Or all the food disappearing. Stuff like that."

Henry smiled at the lick but at the whine of Mister Spots, the boy moved back to him. "Yeah yeah, jealous. You're mine." Or I'm yours.

[At the mentioning of being feasted upon, Rip growls and flicks the ear nearest to her.]

Hardly. Vat vas done to me vas a living nightmare. I am happy Zhe Major vas pleased vith zhe results, but I am never letting zomeone do zhat to me again.

[She growled again before relaxing once more, her mood changing at the drop of a hat back to something more pleasant.]

Oh I haf. Vars haf been fought in zhis city und I haf managed to murder some of zhe most delightful prey. But, it is hardly fun anymore vhen zhey come back to life a veek later.

"You're welcome. I was wondering when you'd notice." Of course, being focused on not becoming monster chow can be distracting he knew. As he began to lead the way toward the city, a small golden form abruptly appeared a minute later to settle on the older man's shoulder, primly folding its wings over its back as the scaled tail moved to circle the man's throat like a golden torc. The creature was only about the size of a half grown cat, despite looking like a dragon. She gave the stranger a friendly chirp from her perch. "Dr. Hopper, this is Gloria. Gloria, this is Dr. Archie Hopper." He introduced, since he suspected that would be the first question following the arrival of the little queen.

[Well he is blessed with many gifts and a good sense of smell is one of them.

He moves closer and appears to be falling for her comfort, but in a quick turn he grabs ahold of her head and flings her to the ground.]

[He declares as he quickly turns around and fires a blast the the hovering intruder.]

[At being flicked Schrodinger covers the offended ear and rubs it.]

[Ciel isn't expecting another of his servants to appear. That Finnian is there and that he and Sebastian arrived relatively close together had been nothing short of a miracle (if he believed in such things) so he isn't looking or hoping for Meirin.

Her voice is impossible to miss though, he's grown so used to hear it and the clatter of dishes or something being dropped. He moves towards the voice, curious and stops when he comes on the maid trying to fix the rail. It's hard for the earl not to sigh softly.]

I? What reason would I have to keep him from you? But this is not where you were, and the city makes its own rules. If he is here and able and heard you, I am sure he will make shift to come. But you will find things are not so simple, here.

[It was another adventure, and must like the last this one was one that Sam had not planned on. Still as he stepped off of the train he found himself in a strange land, no idea as to why he was there or what it was exactly he was supposed to do. This time there was no magical ring to be destroyed, no Frodo for him to tend to or look after, still there had to be a reason why the hobbit was brought here.]

Well you're here now and there is no turning back I s'pose.

[It was an awfully strange place. At least compared to the shire it was, nothing as fancy as the elven cities though. Luckily he had brought plenty of food and enough supplies to last him a few days at least. As for being seen, well it would be quite easy to look over a hobbit standing just over three and half feet, so it'd be quite easy to bump into him.]

There's a bard in the city, singing the tales of long ago and far away in a voice elven fair. There's a bard in the city, who sometimes sings of things much more recent. There's an elven bard who most of Middle-earth thinks is dead, who sits in the park and sings of Frodo the Nine-Fingered, and Samwise the Brave.

Maglor looks up when he hears an approach and his eyes widen, hands striking a welcome chord on his harp and he rises to bow. Sam does not know him - but all of Middle-earth knows Sam.

[She takes a walk everyday since she'd arrived. Lately though, she's aware that she has a Glorfindel-shaped shadow however distant he keeps. At least no one has tried keeping her locked up at the house where she'd be relatively safe considering everything that happens there.

Celebrían saw hobbits briefly when she'd gone to the Grey Havens but she'd never had the chance to really know any of them. It's enough that she recognizes him as one though.]

[She had had a split second on what she wanted to do. She could have decided to fight back or to allow herself to get forced to the ground. If she fought back, she ran the risk of hurting this creature and revealing herself, neither something she wanted. If she allowed herself to be flung to the ground, the creature could potentially get attacked for his actions but she would be safe from being revealed.

She rested on the ground for the moment before she got up, dirt and a scratch on her cheek. She wiped her cheek and gazed at Stitch calmly, neither crying nor in obvious pain, her body already healing itself. She kept her hands on his, willing to use some powers if he tried anything again.]

[Her house being located right beside the train station gives an advantage to those that live there. So she saw the train when it arrived and saw a young woman step off. A part of her didn't believe who it was until she made her way downstairs and outside, pulling Elrond's cloak over her shoulders.

Even as she steps into the station, she still has trouble believing until she steps closer towards her.

Her daughter. Her beautiful daughter, the Evenstar of their people. She hasn't changed since Celebrían had left, not in any way that's immediately noticeable.]

For a hobbit song and music were certainly a welcome sound, it usually meant there was a good time to be had. And while he may not be able to make out quite a few of the words, those that were in languages Sam had only heard a few times and for a short time, he could tell enough that it was an elf singing.

"Please don't stop on my account. I was just hoping I might be able to hear a little more. That is if you don't mind me listening and all."
