Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

[Ned knew the name of his dire wolf, since Bran had named him soon after waking from his coma. It had been a long and hard time to wait for the boy to wake. Catelyn had stayed by his side for the whole time. Ned would have too, apart from his duties would not have allowed it.]

You just appeared? If this isn't Winterfell then.....what sort of place is this? It looks like Winterfell, the snow, the wind, everything. [He placed a warm arm around his son's shoulder and offered a smile of encouragement.]

At least you're safe, lad. We've been worried about you. [He could walk. Ned had nearly forgotten about his son's fall and now it dawned on him. Praise the Gods he hadn't fallen from the tower yet. Or would the moment even happen now? Ned would try and stop it by all means possible; he wanted Bran to have a full and proper life.]

[ Bran had not reached that point. For he was still able to walk. ]

I know every stone of Winterfell's castle, Father. I don't know where we are but I know where we are not. [ See. The climbing paid off. Sort of. ]

I'm sorry, Father. But I didn't fall. I was pushed!

Aye, I know Winterfell too, yet this forest seems familiar to the North. [Yet, he wasn't about to doubt his son, as he knew Bran knew the walls very well. So, Bran knew about his fall, yet he was able to walk. How was that possible?]

Pushed? Who pushed you? [Ned frowned and felt anger build inside of him. He the wondered how the boy could walk.] But, you can walk, Bran. We all know about your fall and you were bed ridden for weeks. How can you be walking? It doesn't make any sense.

It does. I wish I could explain it.

[ Bran shuffled his feet, obviously nervous at revealing this answer. The image was still clear in his mind. So he moved onto the next question until asked again. ] I don't remember being bed ridden. I was falling and then I was here. With...Summer? [ The name sounded both right and wrong. But if his father used it, then it must be true. ]

[Ned's head was spinning. He was confused, shocked and disorientated all at the same time. Had something happened to cause this? Some kind of witchcraft or an act of the God's? Perhaps, they were both dreaming and sharing the same dream? Who knew?]

Bran. Wherever we are, we need to stick together. I don't know where we are or what's happened to us. All we need to do is to stay alive and try to find our way back to Winterfell. Aye, with Summer too. [Ned's eyes strayed towards the young dire wolf and felt his mouth crack into a smile.]

You named Summer soon after waking from your long sleep after falling. You say you were pushed? Can you remember who pushed you at all? [He had to know. Who would dare push a son of Ned Stark to his possible death? They would pay with their head.]

[ Bran nodded. He wouldn't stray far from his father in this strange land and he was very glad to have his direwolf...Summer...with him. The name sounded right once he had the explanation and timing. So now he could use it. ]

I remember...[ He fidgeted again and Summer barked. It was both encouragement and truth. He had to tell. ] It was...It was the Queen's brother - Jaime Lannister. [ And he could not meet his father's eyes when he said this. Instead, he stroked Summer's fur. ]

[At that name Ned sword under his breath. The Lannisters. He should have known they were involved with Bran's fall. He had never fallen in all the years he had started to climb and gained experience. What had Bran ever done to the Lannisters to deserve such a fate? Ned vowed to avenge his son and charge Jaime Lannister with treason, attempted murder.]

That bastard. I knew he would be behind such a thing like that.

[ Bran said nothing for a while then a thought occurred to him and he had to ask. ] Did I not tell you when I woke? [ And then he remembered the other question he had been scared to ask. But he did anyway. Because he trusted his father to giv him a straight answer. ] Do I really not walk again?

No, you said you couldn't remember anything about the time before you fell. [He swallowed dryly and wondered how badly his memory had been affected by the fall. Now, he was clearly remembering things; a god send surely.]

Bran....I don't know if you don't walk again because your legs were damaged but hadn't been given time to heal properly. There is hope yet, or rather, was. Your legs were crippled but now you're fine. It seems the Gods have been kind to you, Bran. You've been saved.

[ Bran didn't feel so sure but he was shivering under his father's furs. ] Perhaps we could find shelter and food until this storm passes. Then see if we can find someone who knows where we are.

[winter_iscoming]

[Ned could feel his son shaking beneath his furs and held him closer.] Aye, finding shelter is a good idea. [He scouted around through the bitter winds, desperate to find a place to shelter.]

I think I can see a cave in the distance by those large trees. [He pointed through a gap in the trees to a dark cave close by. He just hoped it was infested with spiders or other such evil things.] You're a brave lad you know, Bran. A true Stark. [He ruffled Bran's hair and smiled proudly at him.]

[ Bran smiled back, heading in the direction his father had indicated but also staying close so they would not be separated again. Summer walked along beside them. Every so often he would move slightly away from the pair to sniff but mostly, he kept with Bran. ]

[Ned soon found his way towards the cave with Bran and Summer close by. He stepped inside and found it to be dark but free of spiders, Wildlings and any other creature.]

We'll be safe here until the storm subsides. I'll make us a fire. [Ned picked up a few stray branches and sticks outside the cave, thrown onto the forest floor by the wind. He made a small fire and used a small stone against the blade of his sword to make a spark. Soon, they were sat around a small fire within the dark cave, warming themselves up.]

Before you came here, did you speak to either Sansa or Arya? Robb or anyone else?

[ Bran watched. Always willing to learn. Summer sat down beside his boy and kept close to keep him warm. ]

No. You and Robb had left for the hunt. I went to climbing the broken tower and that's when I found the Queen and her brother.

[Ned nodded slowly, as he listened to what Bran had to say. Cersei was with her brother when he was pushed? What were they doing up within a high tower? Scheming, plotting? That wouldn't surprise him one bit. Robert would have gone through the roof if he knew Cersei was plotting against him.]

The Queen was up in the tower too? What were they doing there together? Can you remember?

[ Bran nodded, idlying stroking Summer's fur and looking into the fire. ]

I think...I think they were having sex. She kept saying I saw them and it sounded like they were doing something wrong.

Oh Gods.....no. [Ned frowned and couldn't believe what Bran was saying. Jaime and Cersei were twins, yet they were having an illegal, incestuous affair. All to keep it in the blood. Lannisters. He felt rather sick of the image.]

Are you sure it was Cersei with Jaime?

[ Bran nodded again. ] Yes. I'm sure.

[ He could still see everything clearly, even smell the musky scent and hear them in the throws of it all. He didn't quite understand the pleasure of it all but he wasn't yet old enough to understand. He suspected he would know in time, as much as that annoyed him. ]

I believe you, lad. [Ned didn't want to believe it, not really. It was wrong. So many levels of wrong. Incest was illegal and went against what the Gods believe in. He ruffled Bran's hair and offered the boy a small smile. At least he was safe now.]

Did they push you because you were spying on them?

[ Bran edged closer to lean against his father, Summer following. ] I think so. The Queen kept saying He saw us. and her brother said The things I do for love. before he pushed me out of the window.

Bastard. [Ned curled his hands into fists at that. How dare they throw his son out of a tower window. What kind of sick person would injure a child? Only a Lannister would.

What on earth would Robert say once he found out? How would Ned even break the news to him? He would surely explode in anger and kill someone or many people.]

We'll have to tell the king, you know that don't you? It's his wife and she's committed a terrible act. Jaime will most probably be executed for this. [Ned never did like the upstart Lannister.]

If we ever get back to Winterfell. [ Bran wasn't convinced they would. They had no clue where they were or how they had got there. So getting home would be a challenge. ]

But I will tell him. If you go with me. [ A boy telling the King about the incest his wife was participating in. He would not hear of it if not backed up by a loyal friend or sworn sword. And he would be brave like his father said he was. He was a Stark. And he would act like one. ]

Of course I'll go with you. [How could he not? He wanted everyone to know the heinous acts that the Lannister twins had caused between each other. His own son being a witness to the atrocious event himself.]

Don't worry, lad. No one will hurt you for telling the truth. They'll think you brave for doing so.
