Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

"Sounds wonderful. Lets find someone to try trading with, then!" Nagihiko grinned, looking around. His eyes were out for sporting goods, yes, but also a possible building that maybe he could trade for. They needed a good base of operations.

[bythewaves]

Maglor chuckles. "Well, if you fancy a meal we could head to the local teashop. The grocers and the local clothing shop have no owners. There is a weapons shop, as well, and there is ALSO a place where the prices are... intersting."

Three strands of golden hair Celegorm's memory agrees amusedly. The owners have a ... very interesting sense of humor

"No real need for weapons," he said with a shrug. "And my sister is more into tea and stuff than I am," Nagihiko shrugged. He looked around, hoping to see something that was clearly a sporting goods store.

[bythewaves]

"A sister? You are fortunate - I always wanted one, but contented myself with brothers."

He wanders idly down the main street. "If you see what you are looking for, let me know, eh? Otherwise we can try the shop with... interesting prices."

[nadenagi]

"Let's start there, sounds like it could be fun." Nagihiko grinned, one half of his mouth rising higher than the other.

[bythewaves]

Maglor chuckles softly and turns them down the correct street.

"Very well then. I wonder what price they will ask?"

The shop is a small one, and inside the shelves are mostly bare, but sure enough, there's a basketball sitting on one, with a price tag attached.

[nadenagi]

He bounced - pun intended - over to the basketball to check out the price tag, grabbing it happily with a hand on either side. The smell and feel of the basketball... something far more Nagihiko than Nadeshiko.

Temari would get her kimono dirty, after all....

Something of the self you leave behind reads the price tag.

"Whatever the price is." Maglor explains from where he stands by the door. "You must leave it behind, and if it is correct, you may take the item and simply walk out the door. If not, you will not be able to remove it from the store."

[nadenagi]

"I don't understand... something of my self?" Nagihiko asked.

The thing was, there were too many choices, too many things it could mean. Rhythm. Temari. His other self as Nadeshiko. His ability to charachange or charanari?

He set the basketball back down. "Some prices are too high. Lets look elsewhere."

[bythewaves]

"I warned you the prices here were... interesting." Maglor observes. "Sometimes they are simple to pay, other times... not so much so. Either way, they often strike deep."

He nods, accepting. "Very well."

[nadenagi]

"That's a little too deep. A little too much everything, for a basket ball." For anything. Nagihiko wasn't risking his Shugo Charas. It wasn't going to happen. He still remembered what it felt like when Temari went to sleep, before Rhythm was born.

Never again.

He strode out of the shop, holding Rhythm in one loosely held hand at his side. Protective.

Maglor raises an eyebrow but does not protest. As he follows Nagihiko out he casts a look back at the store, but there is nothing to tear at the strings of his Oath, and he is glad (he knows what the price will be).

"Some things are not worth the cost." He nods and follows him out.

[nadenagi]

"So let's check some other shops," Nagihiko said. He wouldn't shake off the way that tag had made him feel so easily, but he's spent most of his life acting, he could do it now.

[bythewaves]

Maglor nods, and does not look back. "We could try and see if anyone else knows about basket ball. Have you looked at the watch as yet? You may use it to contact others. It is entirely possible someone out there knows, and may already have one."

[nadenagi]

He considered, rocking back onto his heels and bouncing a bit. "Actually..." Nagihiko began, like he was about to make some grand proclamation, then he grinned. "I have no clue how to use it!"

Rhythm shot them both a thumbs up at that.

[bythewaves]

Maglor chuckles and shakes his head.

"Ah Rhythm. Your boy is a tease, I see. Here" Maglor reaches for his and beckons them both off the road so they are out of anyone's way. "I will show you what I know."

[nadenagi]

They followed. "Thanks," Nagihiko said.

"Think I can use it?" Rhythm asked.

[bythewaves]

"I do not see why not" Maglor smiles at him and flips the watch open to show them both.

"You can use it to call folk, also you may read things that others have said."

[nadenagi]

"Like, anything they've said ever?" Nagihiko asked, leaning over to look at it. "Can we look in on people from home this way? See what they're saying, how they're doing?"

Amu. Rima. The kiddie king....

[bythewaves]

"Everything they have said on here" Maglor clarifies. "If you have a conversation without turning it on, the watch will not record it. But it cannot reach across space to where you came."

[nadenagi]

Nagihiko sighed, both relieved and disappointed about that. "Alright," he said. "So who here would I want to try calling?"

[bythewaves]

"Whoever you please - since this is practice, you can try me, eh?"

[nadenagi]

Nagihiko gave him an odd sideways glance. Then he shook his head. "Alright. How do I do that, exactly?"

[bythewaves]

"Here" Maglor walks them through calling hin on their watch, and then how to use it to make a general call, and how to browse the network.

[nadenagi]

Nagihiko leaned over, listening intently. Learning. "I think I got it," he said at the end.
