RUMOR WAR EVENT

It's that time again, Ruby City! On April 18th, the second rumor war will begin-- but don't worry. This one's a bit more of a light-hearted genre. And, Ikaros isn't going to host this one.

QUICK SUMMARY:
For this event, Ikaros has been quite charitable-- he’s given Prudence the chance to rebuild half of the wall for the city. However, she needs the help of the city’s residents! Unfortunately, it looks like Ikaros has lost a book of fairy tales… all over those very citizens. They’re cursed to turn into fairy tale characters, but Prudence promises; if they work hard to help her rebuild the wall, she’ll be able to change them back, and is sure that Chari’s influence on Ikaros may lead to even more good things coming out of it.
Note: There are currently ten challenges, but if interest in the event is strong, we will be providing more challenges.
Puzzles will be posted a few days before the event begins, so that people may begin to plot teams to tackle them.
EDIT: The City simulation will not be used this event. Everyone who is cursed will be cursed within the regular old city, and those who are not cursed may still interact with them. The city will not reset this time, it will simply change according to the winner of this event.
IC EVENT DURATION: April 18-24th
EVENT GOAL:
Players will be allowed to choose fairy tales for their characters to be turned into over the course of the event. Characters will begin the event with attributes of the fairy tale character as well as Puzzle Solving Abilities from the list below.
Characters will have to utilize their new ability sets to win puzzle pieces. These puzzle pieces will be used to build one section of the city walls. With them, Pride can restore one half of the city wall; if it isn’t done in time, however, Sloth will win points.
IC EFFECTS:
- Each character that participates will receive at least One puzzle solving ability in addition to the effects of whatever fairy tale has been chosen by their player. EDIT: All changes from the fairy tales will be physical, not mental! Mentally your character will be the same person. They will still resemble themselves in part.
- EDIT: You don't have to stick to tradition! If you want to spin the fairy tale in your own way, go ahead. Make a Mexican version of The Brave little Tailor, or a robot version of Sleeping Beauty. We really don't care.
- EDIT: Duplicates are allowed. Fairy tales and mythical creatures from non-traditional stories are also allowed.
- As the days go on, characters will become more and more like their fairy tale.
- The further along they get, the less inclined they will feel to change back.
- However, their abilities will give them the chance to solve puzzles! Tom Thumb, for instance, can solve puzzles that require the ability “small”. Puss in Boots, however, can solve puzzles that need the ability “climb”!
- -Those abilities won’t be the only thing your character gets from their fairy tale, but they do need one to solve puzzles!
PUZZLE SOLVING ABILITIES:
-Small or Big
-Climb: move up steep inclines
-Fly/Jump: move across expanses
-Fight: wield weapons
-Strength: move large/heavy objects
-Magic
-Speed
-Talk to animals
-Charm: beauty and charisma
-Luck: a good lot with fortune
-Musical talent: talent use of one’s voice or an instrument
-Wit: intelligence and cleverness
-Swim/Dive
ENVIRONMENT CHANGES:
There will be no changes to the environment. However, to cut down on travel time, Prudence will be providing instant transport to any puzzle locations outside the city.
PLAY CHANGES:
Wall Building Puzzle: There will be ten pieces of the wall to find. Each puzzle will have Ability requirements. Players will form teams and attempt to reach the puzzle piece; they will have 3 Random Roll chances per day. The more Ability Requirements they fill, the higher possibility of winning the puzzle piece-- but you can take a chance whether or not you have the required abilities, or even see if you can use other abilities to snag a puzzle piece. If a team can come up with a special way to win the piece, a moderator may allow them to get the piece that day!
NETWORK CHANGES:
There will be no changes to the network. However, watch sizes won’t change, either! If your character is changing size or shape, they might just be shit out of luck.
REQUIRED SIGNUPS:
While signups will not be required, we ask that you make note of what fairy tale or mythical creature your character will be cursed to be as well as what ability or abilities they may have using the form provided below.
EVENT TIMELINE:
From the beginning of the event, characters will have the ability or abilities associated with the fairy tale. As the event progresses, every few days, they will become more and more like the fairy tales. If all of the pieces are collected by day 7, the characters will be freed from their curse early! If not, they still have until day 10 to collect the last puzzle pieces.
OPT OUT OPTIONS:
You do not have to choose a fairy tale for this event. However, Prudence will only allow those who have been transformed to go on the adventures. If characters are not allowed to go on adventures, it may be fun to think of ways they can support their comrades from behind the scenes!
EVENT REWARDS:
Only characters that are cursed will receive the Event Reward. However, they are not required to keep or use the objects.
-2 small but Useful Objects associated with the assigned fairy tale
-1 Vial that, if consumed, will bestow an ability associated with the assigned fairy tale
-1 Festival Doll of the character dressed as their assigned fairy tale
