Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

"No lies." Though he feels that she might not really believe him. But she knows there's others that might make her feel calmer - and an answer to her question.

"CC's around. He's better at explainin' what's goin' on."

[ But despite her dry tone, she raises an eyebrow at his question. ]

I might be. Why?

[This face for days, Wednesday.] Just curious! You don't look like anything I've ran across in the Underground.

Hands in his pockets, he was content enough to walk in silence even as he cast the occasional glance her way. He could feel the partial attention on him as surely as if she was staring right at him.

"Is something bothering you?" he asked, thick eyebrows lifting for a moment. "You seem rather tense."

She nods, quietly accepting this.

"No one else? Dr. D? Chimp?" Hadn't they all been together before she ran? Which, she realizes, she might owe an apology for eventually. She thinks if Pony was going to bring it up, he would have. But Cherri might, and might actually want to talk about it. She wasn't ready to explain. "Just him?"

[Guess who else is stepping off a train now, Flowey? That's right, one former-ruler boss grade monster. Toriel. She knows you, she knows hat you tried to do. She doesn't know the details of what happened after she stopped Frisk from fighting Asgore but she knows enough.]

It is not the Underground. [squitsquint so suspicious]

[Flowey stiffens at the voice. He turns slowly and puts on his best winning smile.] Toriel! Howdy!

[Somewhere there's a faint sense of pain.]

When did you get here?

I have just arrived.

[She's still absolutely keeping a careful eye on him. Especially if there are children around. And SOULs. Even if they do seem to be on the surface now, she can imagine someone like Flowey still wanting to grab a SOUL or two for the sake of power.]

That was something that he could sympathise with. Not so many trees in the Zones either, and even less after the Analog Wars. He smiled and picked up a piece of firewood, making a small motion as if to toss it to her before gently doing just that.

"Sounds harsh." And familiar. "Things are more comfortable here."

See that's a matter of opinion, bud. [Which part? WHO KNOWS! Vagueness is great.] Sometimes it's good to kick up your feet and clock some z's. Besides, I learned somethin' about the train.

[Like that it wouldn't let him stay on forever. But it wouldn't move until he got off. Wow, isn't that crazy?]

[That happened ONE TIME okay.] Then you're only a few minutes behind me! Golly!

[Flowey's eyes shine a little. He pauses for a second and then asks.] Have you ever heard of this place?

[Flowey sways slightly in the breeze.] Oh? What, that it's huge?

He doesn't even really think about bringing that up - not now, anyway, not before the talks about names that he hasn't spoken in months, names that sting, but he does his best to try to not show it. It's upsetting, for sure, but it'd be a lie to say it hasn't happened before, and, besides, he's had a long time to learn to deal with it.

"Just him." Just the two of them, though Cola has more he could tell her. "Jus' the two of us."

He gives her hand a gentle squeeze. "How 'bout we get outta this cold now? We ain't doin' ourselves any favors, freezin' our domes off out 'ere."

There's a lot more that she wants to ask about after that. She didn't know any of them as well as her boys, not anyone really, but she'd gotten it in her head that people like Pony and D stuck together. She'd half believed that's where he was taking her. Same as where she was meant to be heading back home.

But knows that tone, knows when someone's trying to make her drop something for later. "Fine. Feels awful out here anyway." And then she asks, a little hopefully, "You guys got supplies holed up? Any water and Power Pup?"

"Wherever we are, whatever this city is, it seems calm enough. But I've seen the news recently." She did not trust this calm.

You can pick 'em up, too. Starfish got five legs. Sometimes seven.

[He can't wait to see her face.]

Pulling her staff over one shoulder, she caught it easily, and turned it over in her hands to examine it. "How so?"

[That she knows of!]

No, I have not. We have lived Underground for a long time, more than enough time for the world to have changed drastically from what we were familiar with.

You shittin' me? Wicked, wicked.

[She'll be so excited.]

You think anyone else is ever gonna [She clicks her tongue] pop in here?

"We're not quite so-" She imitated the growl with a soft laugh, genuinely amused. "as stories might make us out to be. You are right though, I am not wearing a mask."

Toriel stilled after the admission. She never was one to hide her own nature, but she remembered the war between humans a monsters, the creation of the barrier. Some humans just wouldn't care for her kind.

"Is that alright, my child?"

Every bad thing she'd ever known had been human once, had been caused by humans. The only knowledge she had of monsters came from her boys, in the stories they'd tell of old movies and comic books. They'd made monsters scary, but cool. She had liked the stories, the thrill of fear. At was a little different seeing it in person.


"I dunno," she said, shrugging. "You gonna eat me?"

"Eat you?" That made her laugh, like it was truly meant as a joke. Monsters eating people? The stories that humans came up with after they were banished from the Surface! She would have to remember to ask Frisk about stories of that sort.

"Oh no, little one. Monsters do not eat people."

Just her. Something about that and the way she keeps her face in his sleeve makes his chest hurt.

Ghoul doesn't need her to say anything. He's got a good enough idea and later on when he's alone he'll curse and scream himself hoarse. For now though he keeps his attention on her.

"I'm good, donno how I am but I'm good." There are still a few scrapes, and bandages under his shirt, but his hearts still beating. He's alive somehow. "C'mon, let's get someplace less open, I'll try fillin' you in on this place. 'least what I know about it."

"They did in all of Party's stories!" The laugh makes her feel like she'd being made fun of, and she's not sure how to take it. "They drunk blood or snacked on your brains and stuff."

She's pouting, making herself look even younger. "If you're not gonna, okay. It wasn't a dumb question."
