ATTENTION: RUBY CITY POLICE FORCE!

Hi guys! Edgeworth and Komaeda-mun here! I'm still on slowiatus but one of the things I promised myself to do was help with discussions on how to sort out Ruby City's current police force. As you know, after Saber dropped last year, we've been trying to sort out who was the new police leader. We did have an election poll but it didn't really get around anywhere and quite a few people dropped. We've also had the odd discussions about people who were trying to join and wanted to organize something but nothing really went anywhere.

 

So I'd thought I'd make this post on the public OOC comm. Afonso-mun has a list here which has just been wiped clean for a fresh start

It will help to know who's still here and to find out if there are any other characters who are interested in joining the police force so we can add people to the list after discussing how they joined, etc.

Also, as I've mentioned we still don't have a head of the police force. Since a poll didn't work, I'm wondering if it would be more productive to have an OOC discussion here and decide OOCly?

 

So, in summary, what needs to be done...

 

- Find out who's still in the police force

- Find out who wants to join

- Find out who can be leader.

 

Since Saber left months ago, we will have to come up with an IC reason why the head of the police force hasn't been chosen until now. Like the system worked but was in disarray and needed changing, for example.

 

So, contribute your thoughts here and please let me know if there is anything I have missed.

OH SWEET i'm glad this is happening. i'd love to sign giorno up, he'd probably be most useful on intel and/or emergency response? he's got lots of time on his hands so he could probably do both if needed/wanted tbh.

as far as an ic reason for the decision not being made uhhh I DON'T HAVE AN IDEA OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD but i will definitely think about it and post again here if i have any thoughts!

Since Captain America's patrols are just as disorganized as the police force right now, I might as well sign Diarmuid up for the police force. Even with the Captain gone, Diarmuid is still doing his patrols at the park and doesn't plan on stopping.

Also, his school was aligned with the police force so that they could train whoever needed training there. I am more than happy to keep that going!

As for choosing the new head, could the explanation just be as easy as the nature of the city causing the delay? By that I mean, Rumor Wars, people being taken away etc. It's something Diarmuid has had to struggle with as well with his teachers and students leaving suddenly. The same could apply to the police force. As soon as things seemed like they were about to get going smoothly, important people vanishing or bad Rumor Wars delayed things.

That sounds like a very good idea. People trying to put leaders up but others vanishing so they were never able to put anything in stone or make a final decision on who would be leader. I think we can put that idea up.

Mags is good to be a part of the force! although you might have trouble wrangling him into normal cop behaviour XD he's a tad archaic after all

Welp Edgeworth has a detective whose pay he keeps cutting for being incompetent. XD Except we'd need to find an alternative to paycutting.

XD Fortunately Mags can be reasoned with - he takes orders well, but he has ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE how modernish police people work

Kaylin has been acting like she is on the force, and would love to have the actual legal right to continue to do so.

She is very much NOT a leader, but someone from her series is, and would make a good temporary leader until someone apps in. I would happily put him in for that roll as like an NPC or something if the mods wants, until someone who wants the roll steps in. It would be someone that would interact with Kaylin, and he isn't someone I think I could play as a full character without his wives present, which are two reasons I never apped him, but again, if you guys/the mods want as a stop gap, I'm willing to do that.

And if not, Kaylin is still on board!

But right. OOCly I like Neko/Diarmuid-mun's ideas. When in doubt blame the city for trolling. It also might be good to combine the patrols and the force.

ICly, Afonso probably wouldn't be up for signing back up with the police. He's sure he'd be fairly useless with only one leg. However OOCly I'm still down to help where I can, and keeping the list updated!

It would probably be good to see just who joins back up, then look at the rooster to see who would be a good fit for the role of leader. Or maybe even pick two chiefs so that if the other drops we don't end up going back to square one if that makes sense?
