CR/Plotting/Handwaving Meme

Time for another of these! You all know what to do by now, and we all love some good CR, don't we? You can either ask for/offer CR you'd like to play out... Or you can discuss what may or may not already have happened!

INSTRUCTIONS

♥ Post with your characters, one per comment or a catch-all. If you have any CR in particular you'd like to rally, mention it here!

♣ Go around to other characters and discuss ways your characters may have interacted in handwaved settings. This could be casual meetings at the pub, patrols they may have gone on together, hikes and explorations, or just whatever strikes your fancy!

♦ Come up with some backstory for friendships that might not have gotten played out as fully as you'd have liked. These guys are trapped on a floating island together, 24/7... You know they bump into each other! New CR is highly encouraged - you never know what might happen.

CHARACTER(S): Toph
WHO ARE THEY?: She's the greatest earthbender there ever was and is more than happy to let people know it. She loves fighting and generally showing off her skills. While she's rough around the edges, she still makes a great friend.
CURRENTLY: ...She just got here.
CR YOU'D LIKE: Definitely looking at getting her to meet one (or both) of the Doctors and anyone from the Tolkien cast. I'm not picky though. The more CR the merrier.
CR YOU WOULD NOT LIKE: Uhm....Can't really think of anything at the moment...

So, Julian would find Toph very intriguing. And possibly amusing. And thus, an interesting friend/acquaintance. He's stoic at first, sure, but he'd very much appreciate an opponent with an unconventional (for him) fighting style to learn how to work with / fight against. *imaginings of fast-paced combat scenes play out in head* [Sorry. That happens way too often.]

Also, he needs some friends – especially ones not all like him.

I support this 100%. I would be more than happy to get Toph acquainted with him. I'm sure she'd enjoy teasing him to see just how stoic he is. I'd also love to get Toph into some action, so a fighting partner would be excellent!

Do you have any ideas about a scenerio where you'd like them to meet? Toph is currently in the mindset to explore the island to find her friends, find the jerks who kidnapped her, or both, so I think it would be likely that they would eventually just bump into each other.

Julian would just deal with her teasing – he'd understand why she's doing it. But he'd be stoic to a certain point – after that, he'll probably utilise his full vocabulary in a most verbose manner. While he can fight, unless it's in training/practice or absolutely necessary he won't try to start any combat (unless she tries physical contact from behind without warning – then, he'll reflexively try to throw her. It's in my permissions for him; I'll leave it up to you whether he'd succeed or not.)

Where I'd like them to meet? No, nothing specific at the moment.

Once Julian's finally travelled beyond the woods in the Murphy's Law thread, he'll step outside the city more often (every two or three days, say) – but in the city his routine involves wandering 'round to better memorise the layout of the city, being a patron of one of the various shops and going to the Spiral Training School for at least an hour. Also, he's commandeered House 52 for his lodging (see the Residences map for where it is). If there's anything you think that Toph would do anywhere near his daily travels (something he usually maintains as roughly the same), then I think that would be best.

Toph does have a habit of punching people, but that's a sign of affection from her, so she won't do it unless she gets to know Julian pretty well. The first time she punches, Julian might be able to surprise her and throw her, but Toph will try to get him back with her bending. >:3

Toph's going to be exploring the city first, then working her way out. I think it would be easy for them to bump into one another.

I haven't figured out where Toph is going to end up living yet. I've been waiting to see if anyone meeting her will mention living quarters to her or if something else happens to influence her decision.

Toph's intro log is still going, so I don't know what she'll be learning from that. I'm willing to set up a log or something with you after I get a sense of where her interactions are going though.

They'll first meet somewhere in the city, then? That's fine by me. If no-one else mentions houses, Julian would eventually talk about how he's living in House 52 and mention that most things are free.

Okay, waiting for the log to finish suits me fine – Julian's about to head into the woods in the Murphy's Law log, which will probably be going for a while yet. Seeing as we plan on making Julian and Toph best buds, I think setting up a closed log where the two meet would be a good idea.

PLAYER: Hattie

CHARACTER: The Girl from Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys

WHO ARE THEY?: A little nameless tot from a desert wasteland who's was adopted by a bunch of teenagers who are now all dead. She's tiny, she's rebellious, she has weird powers and she's the desert's last hope or something.

CURRENTLY: Attempting to make a mailbox with Afonso, hanging around the theater because Sonia gives her snacks, avoiding going back home to Pony and Cherri, basically wandering the streets and getting into trouble.

CR YOU'D LIKE: Give me all of it! It would be fun to see her get some negative CR with someone. Challenge her beliefs! Make fun of this weird talking kiddo! Get annoyed with that bratty attitude!

Otherwise, I really just want her to make friends. Let her hang out with other kids and get to know people who can help settle her in/ make her feel less alone in this city. And people to get her to just go back home to SP/CC already. Talk some sense into this child.

CHARACTER: Torunn from Next Avengers

WHO ARE THEY?: She's Thor's daughter but was raised by Tony Stark. Marvel writes its own wild fanfics. She's basically as bratty as you can imagine with a huge chip on her shoulder because Thor abandoned her as a toddler. Loud, angry, self righteous...she's pretty much obnoxious with just enough ability to care about others to save her from being the worst.

CURRENTLY: Challenging everyone to fights, training a lot, making exploration plans with Fly. Generally just settling in.

CR YOU'D LIKE: People to train with her! People to hate her! People she can actually make friends with if they can stand her personality. I'd like to see her start caring about other people the way she does her 'brothers' back home.

CR YOU WOULD NOT LIKE: Romance. There might be something in the works already.
