Welp. Finally put this here.
It's a week since I joined Ruby City with Julian, roughly. After stumbling around for most of those days, I feel now like I've got it all down.
Normally, I'd have lurked until now, not joining in until I was certain that I understood everything I could. But this drew me in like a gravity well, starting from an event almost entirely unrelated to RP. Ruby City ticked pretty much all the boxes in my head – even ones I didn't have on a list – within fifteen minutes of me finding it. I spent free moments during my week constructing an application (and reading other people' saps) while wondering if a Star Citizen character was actually classifiable as an OC or not. [Technicalities.]
Then came my blunders. I've never used anything like DreamWidth for any purposes before whatsoever, so figuring out the technical stuff wasn't as easy as it had been before. I understood half of everything when I joined and spent the next few days learning the other half of all the things.
This is starting to look like a pointless ramble, so I'll fix that. Here goes.

I go by Blaze most places on the Internet.
[I was roleplaying consistently for about five months last year (July to November), but I had to drop out when exams came 'round – and then technical issues decided they'd join the fun at the same time, which meant I couldn't even post for a while. It was great while it lasted, taught me a lot about roleplaying as a whole. At one point, there were days when I had over 60 notifications that people had posted in just a few hours – things were moving so quickly. After a while, people went on hiatuses (is that the proper plural?) so it quietened down in the last month before I had to drop out myself.]
Now, Julian isn't a character that I've RPed before. I've played his uncle, his uncle's friend and his father before – but I figured I'd try roleplaying someone younger (the youngest out of those three was 30, if I recall correctly). His history is described in the application to a decent degree – the major events that have happened in his life so far, really. If something I post seems weird then it could be me, or just the way I see him reacting to something.
It'd be great to see him interact with a decent number of people – while he's introverted and stoic around strangers, he can talk for quite a while if he warms up to someone and they let him ramble.
If anyone wants to comment, I've put up a HMD just now. If that stuff's not to your liking, just PM me about it.
