[April] Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:
  • Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.

  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.

  • Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.

Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.

Scenarios

1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

She nodded. "they can do all sorts of wonderful things!" she said happily, so proud of Sora and Riku. "I'd love to learn some day, so I could be of more help to them. Maybe one day I'll be able to go with them when they leave, instead of waiting behind." She would love that, to be able to be of help, stand with them as equals, rather than be left behind because she'd just be in the way.

"I'm sure if he shows up here, he'll take you up on that, he loves learning new things and making new friends." She smiled happily, getting one table set JUST SO, before bounding off to the other. Domestic wasn't really her thing, but this place needed it. Actually what it needed... "You didn't see any chalk anywhere, did you?"

She grinned at his joke while she dug around for the chalk, looking for some so she could decorate the walls. "Sora's the same way. He'll eat anything."

"Chalk?" He echoed at her question, putting the knife down to look around. He had spotted a folded sign that could be written on with chalk so he figured there must be some around here somewhere. He found a drawer with various knicknacks and lo and behold - some chalk buried in the back of it.

He placed it on the counter for her and then continued to check the heat of the stove. Perfect. He dribbled some oil into the large skillet-like cast iron pan and dumped the meat in along with some pinches of spices and some sauce from a bottle. It sizzled merrily while he washed his hands and continued chopping up the veggies. If his brother gods saw him now - they'd be probably letting him have it. He hoped that wherever they were, they were all right.

"I'm sure you'll be able to do anything you put your mind and heart to." He said, responding to her earlier words. "You have a strength of spirit that when combined with your bond of friendship - it can accomplish anything." He had the feeling she'd make a great healer. Perhaps even a protector. Her friends were lucky to have her.

She gave him a bright smile. "Thanks! I sure hope so!" she grabbed the chalk and started trying to draw on the wall. Her wet hair kept splashing it, though, messing up her artwork. Not that she was all that good at drawing to begin with. But she wanted to be. She saw Namine's art, and she wanted to achieve that, someday.

The meat was cooking nicely in the sauce, and the smell filled the kitchen, making the place like home and more lived in all ready. Kojin paused while cutting up the veggies, watching Kairi draw on the wall with a small smile.

Then he raised a hand and drew a circle in the air - slowly heating up the air comfortably in a circle around the girl's feet. He couldn't create a breeze to help dry her, but he could make the illusion of such as the warm air rose around her in an effort to help take off the chill and the worst of the wet.

"If you're wondering about the change in the air, that's me..." He spoke up, not wanting to alarm her. His tones were warm.

She giggled as the heat rose. "It tickles," she said, a happy sound in her voice. She stopped drawing to pivot and grin at him. "What else can you do?"

She really was sweet. Kojin finished chopping up the veggies, and stirred at the meat, which was almost done. He looked over at her question, his grin turning impish.

"Pretty much anything to do with Fire. Even become fire." He answered, golden eyes flashing briefly. "As fire god of Earthrealm, I am fire in physical form. I tend to spend lots of time this way so I can interact with people." His grin turned into a smirk of humor. "Got to work on my horrible shyness and all..."

She laughed. "You're about as shy as Sora is mean, so not a lick," she teased with a grin. "What about Fireworks? I bet the people around here would love a good fireworks show!"

"Fireworks? I love fireworks..." He was there when they were invented. "I know how to make them - the shells and powders and stuff. I can only replicate them so much with my own fire. Fireballs, explosions, trails - I definitely can do."

He tossed the veggies into the pan and tossed the whole mix before moving to the counter and dumping some contents in a bottle into a bowl, mixing it with some other spices.

She grinned. "I bet that would be a lot of fun for everyone here!" She sniffed the air. "Of course, everyone here might wind up joining us for dinner. I'll be surprised if they can't smell it back on the Islands!" A flicker of pain that she mostly hid behind a smile, there. Sora. Riku. She hadn't intended to leave, so hadn't told them she was going. She was worried that they might be looking for her...
