[April] Test Drive!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!
Kenshi | Mortal Kombat
He had no idea where he was. He just knew he wasn't where he was supposed to be.
When he had awoken, he recognized the feel instantly of being on a moving vehicle. A train. The swaying and sounds were unmistakable. He had been incredibly groggy and disoriented...and so consciousness tended to drift. However when he did wake up enough to call out and search for anyone else - he discovered soon enough that he was alone. Save for an uneasy feeling of being watched. Something was there, but he couldn't physically find them.
When the train pulled in at its destination, Kenshi didn't hesitate on getting off, though he was instantly hit with a blast of cold air and wet. Snow. There was no point in remaining on the train and getting no answers so the blind swordsman pushed ahead stubbornly. He cut a tall figure - roughly around an inch or two above 6 feet. He was of Asian descent with bronzed skin and short dark hair. He had a lean though athletically muscular physique. He moved like someone accustomed to combat. Any warrior would be able to spot the signs. His clothing was close fitting but comfortable - lightly armored and in dark colors trimmed in red. The most distinctive things about him was the sheathed Japanese style sword on his back and the red blind fold tied across his eyes. The ends dangled down his back.
Judging by the sounds and the stone pave beneath his feet, he knew he was in a settlement. Unlike the train, he could sense others near by. It didn't take him long to start shivering in the cold, though he didn't appear to acknowledge it or complain. His steps were even and deliberate as he strained all his senses to get an idea of his environment or possible danger.
Hopefully he'd find some answers. And a warmer spot to regroup.
Have Kaylin!!!!!!!!
And that meant that this man could be trouble. But he could also be not. She was trained how to handle this situation.
"Did you need some assistance?" she asked. There was authority in her voice, but no threat. Strength without challenge. Kaylin couldn't lie for *****. and her voice and face gave away her thoughts, nearly always; however she could, when she focused, be a Hawk, speak and look and act as she was trained.
It seldom lasted long.
<3
In the past, Kenshi would have shirked such an offer. But being prideful and arrogant cost him much in the past. His sight included. He had humbled a lot since then. He inclined his head slightly towards the voice in a slight nod.
"A warm place to regroup would be nice. And some answers." He said matter-of-fact. "I have no idea where I am or how I got here."
no subject
No. No, she can't. What she can help you do is get lost. Terribly terribly lost. Kaylin had been here longer than she cared to count, and she still got lost. Of course, she still got lost whenever she had to go somewhere in Elantra that wasn't part of her beat or one of her usual stops.

Re: Kenshi | Mortal Kombat
And she was Kairi. So the fact that he was armed, and quite possibly dangerous didn't phase her in the slightest. She bounded over and stopped in front of him with a bright friendly smile. "Hi, are you new here also?"
no subject
"If you mean 'new' as in just getting off of a train...then yes." He said in answer to her question. His own tones light as he tilted his head slightly. "Where am I?"
no subject
To Kairi that salt in the air was unmistakable. It was home.

Re: Kenshi | Mortal Kombat
Something distracted her every time she came to take the thing apart. Not cool, city. Not cool.
Well. She might as well help the newcomer out. It's what Belldandy would want her to do. She bounced over, smelling like gear oil and ice cream and goddess. "Welcome to Ruby City. Do you need any help finding anything?"
no subject
Ruby City? He didn't recognize the name, nor did he remember getting on the train that brought him here. What the hell happened?
"Somewhere warm would be nice." He answered the girl's question, another shiver moving through him. "Somewhere to get my bearings. I don't know how I got here..."

She was getting better with her water teleports. Okay, so she hadn't tried to bring anyone with her yet, but really, what was the worst that could happen?

Petronella Osgood | Doctor Who
Each was Petronella Osgood.
They looked around the station first, then at each other. Hand in hand, they walked to the first person they found. "Excuse me," one said.
"But could you kindly tell us," the next continued.
"How it is that we came to be in this place?"
"The last thing either of us remember,"
"We were seeing the Doctor off."
"And then we were on a train that is clearly not of Earth design."
"So if you could be so kind."
"We would really appreciate it."
"Thank you," they said, together.
Of course, had it been the Doctor, in any of his faces, they would have instead approached him very differently:
"Doctor."
"Do you know why exactly we are here?"
Didn't matter if this face knew them. They knew all the faces. The Black Archives had extensive records, and they had been, for so very long, his biggest fan.
Kojin, god of Fire | Mortal Kombat
He had stumbled barely conscious off of the train, not knowing where he was and incredibly weakened. Something was horribly off. He felt out of place. Disconnected. Like he wasn't supposed to be here. Like he shouldn't be here. He tried to remember where he was before. Or what had happened. But everything was jumbled. Why did he feel so empty? So mortal?
Was he dead? Had he died??
But....he wasn't supposed to!
It had been pouring rain and it didn't take long for him to get drenched. Paying no mind to the fact that it caused steam to rise from him - he shambled into the empty train station...coming across the various posters and meager supplies. He was a tall man of what appeared to be east Asian decent. Dark bronzed skin and his hair, long dark and wild - hanging loose and halfway down his back. His clothing looked almost Chinese in style; tunic with a high collar, loose but comfortable pants. A wide sash around his middle. Though he had gauntlets and shin guards, and a tabard made out of some sort of silken material. His clothing was in colors of beiges, deep reds and oranges and edged in gold. A simple, conical straw hat was on his head, shading eyes that shone a glowing gold. Though they were much dimmer than they should be. Almost as dark as a mortal's.
"Ugh..." Taking the hat off, he rubbed his face in his hands. This was worse than that time he swore he had a hangover for like 50 years. It was incredibly hard for gods to get tanked - but he had managed it. He flopped un-godlike on one of the benches, leaning back with another muttered sound of discomfort before eyeing one of the posters on the wall next to him. Ruby City? The hell?? He squinted, blinked, then stared again.
"Tch....at least it's red." He muttered - thinking this must be some sort of ridiculous dream. Maybe he'd come out of meditation or drunken stupor...or whatever this was and he'd be back at the temple with his brother gods. Wait...something bad had happened....at least he thought?
This day was turning out fantastic.
Re: Kojin, god of Fire | Mortal Kombat
Instead she stood behind the bench and held the Umbrella over him, ignoring the rain that ran down her back when she did.
"Are you alright?" she asked, concerned.

"Physically? I'm fine. Everything else? Not so much..." He said finally. Meaning he wasn't suffering from some kind of injury at least. But still...
Besides, he was taken aback that he wasn't sensing her like he would any person of Earthrealm. Like...how this place didn't feel like Earthrealm....
What.
He rubbed his temples with a grimace. "Saw the signs. Never heard of this Ruby City place..." He muttered. A fact which was really strange. "Something tells me this isn't Earthrealm..." A rhetorical question really...

"I just arrived a bit ago as well. When it started raining I went to find an umbrella." She gave him a bright smile. "Since you're physically fine, let's see what we can do about the rest, alright? I'll help!"

Guy Eldoon || Ace Attorney (pre-canon, sorta) || Location: 1, Scenario: 5; ALSO: SEE NOTES BELOW!
((Feel free to Private Plurk me @
"Oh, really now, doll.... That just ain't right!" Eldoon grimaces as he sees a long-haired individual (that he assumes, perhaps wrongly, is a "doll" rather than a "son" to him) teetering before him, as if s/he is about to fall over Doctor Eldoon at any moment! "Whoa, now, easy there, Doll....." He gingerly caught the person in front of him by the armpits, and then dragged them as gently as possible across the train station in order to reach a nearby bench....

"Who are you? Don't touch me!" Blood drips onto the ground by his foot, coming from his side.

Radical Edward | Cowboy Bebop (post anime)
(Train station)
"Satellite from days of old this is so not the landing port on Jupiter!" came the voice of a young woman with a motor scooter on one arm and a backpack full of computer gear screaming a much different time. Especially since the young hacker/bounty hunter (cowboy as she would say) was also banged up from escaping a bounty that had grandly backfired on her (which would explain the scooter). For now she just walked, hopefully able to get a few things for the moment.
Answers to where she was, painkillers for her ankle and access to a plug to charge her computers.
Have a tech goddess!
Though the thought of tearing apart the train died when she saw the woman with the scooter. She hadn't seen something with an actual motor in too long. Other than the train, of course.
She raced over, eagerly. "I will give you nearly anything if I can have the bike!" she said, and then she spotted the computer gear. "Or... we could work on something together," she said, almost wistfully.

To all appearances, Nadeshiko was a lovely young girl, about 14, with a high purple ponytail, and a lovely spider silk kimono. Everything about her spoke of grace and quiet beauty. When she saw Ed, her smile widened gently, and she made her way over. "Welcome to Ruby City," she said happily. "Would you care to share a picnic with me?"

For one of the most intelligent women in the cosmos, have one of the stupidest males.
Elan was happily thinking his nothing little thoughts when he saw Edward. Pretty girl. Red hair. But... no pony tail. No single lock falling out over one eye. No leather armor. No bow.
He marched up to her. "You're not Haley," he informed her, as though she needed to know this.
