[ And sure enough, Tonika is up a branch in a large tree, staring down at a... rather harmless looking Coyote. It's a scrawny thing that sounds like its bark is worth twice its bite. Still, she's considerably nervous. What about rabies? ]

Ah--!

[ When Tonika notices Jane, she's tempted to call out to her-- but quickly stifles herself for fear of sending the ornery coyote her way. ]

[Rabies was certainly something to be concerned about, but the coyote looked harmless. Approaching, Jane lets her hammer spark a little bit, which catches the coyote's attention.

She lets it spark a little bit brighter, and it yelps in fight, running away.]

I think you can come down now!

[tonic]

[ She juggles the kitten in tow, carefully climbing down from branch to branch one handedly before getting back on the ground and rushing over to Jane. She's so grateful!! The calico in her arms is a little distressed and noisy, but at least it's safe. ]

W- what was that? Thank you so much! I don't know how you did it, but--!!

[Jane smiles and places Mjölnir down.]

This is Mjölnir, my hammer. It can ... do quite a lot, actually.

You mean... the legendary Mjölnir? Th- the one in Norse mythology? Or is this like, a different...

... you know, a different hammer by the exact same name. Because-- neither would surprise me.

Nope, the very same. The legends got it a bit wrong. The hammer can choose its wielder, and it decided I was good enough. It comes in handy from time to time, but I think it likes being used in experiments too.

[ Then you must be... a very cool person! ]

Wh- what criteria does it choose its wielder based on? Just curious. I didn't read as much Norse mythology as I should have.

[Well, she doesn't know about that.]

I'm not sure. It is a weapon, or can be, so I guess it chooses based off of that? I mean, if I go around blowing things up for no reason, I probably won't be able to lift it anymore.
