Time for another of these! You all know what to do by now, and we all love some good CR, don't we? You can either ask for/offer CR you'd like to play out... Or you can discuss what may or may not already have happened!

INSTRUCTIONS

♥ Post with your characters, one per comment or a catch-all. If you have any CR in particular you'd like to rally, mention it here!

♣ Go around to other characters and discuss ways your characters may have interacted in handwaved settings. This could be casual meetings at the pub, patrols they may have gone on together, hikes and explorations, or just whatever strikes your fancy!

♦ Come up with some backstory for friendships that might not have gotten played out as fully as you'd have liked. These guys are trapped on a floating island together, 24/7... You know they bump into each other! New CR is highly encouraged - you never know what might happen.

CHARACTER(S): Dave Strider callbacks
WHO ARE THEY?: Dave's an eighteen-year-old memelord with phenomenal cosmic power (i.e., time powers) and a long history of trauma only exacerbated by his time in Dangan Roleplay Round 3. While clever and friendly, his fight-or-flight mechanism's set with a hair trigger and is, usually, heavily weighted towards fight, these days.
CURRENTLY: Dave just got and is pretty much over the moon right now. He's still trying to find some worthwhile occupation for his time in Ruby City and carefully warming up to certain people.
CR YOU'D LIKE: As Dave settles in, he'll gradually stop playing his cards so (relatively) close to his chest. I'm excited for him to eventually trust some people here enough to tell them what his deal is.

Julian will try to get to know Dave better, in part because of his wanting to befriend more people his age. They both like swords, at the least – and this young man from the future (relative to literally everyone else here) has a good idea of what to do here as a pastime while the events come and go.

Also, he's going to be almost constantly intrigued by the couple that Dave is one half of – he's not seen many, if any, relationships quite like theirs.

Dave is always 1000% here to talk about how great and wonderful his fiancée is and would be happy to talk about her with Julian, though he may leave the circumstances of their meeting vague. For Reasons.

CHARACTER(S): Tonika
WHO ARE THEY?: Tonika is an original character from a thing I made up about psychic-esque powers, family relationships, mental illness and recovery, and the looming threat of something stronger than you and scarier than you and standing up to it. She's a fourteen year old who will turn fifteen in February and if she had the willpower to use it, she would be capable of seeing all possible realities and outcomes to actions at the same time. However, since she's not Max Caufield and actually has a deep fear of becoming a manipulator due to both who she was raised by and who her mother was, she not only doesn't want to use this power, not wanting to locks her out of using it.
CURRENTLY:

Tonika's been doing some crying... it's good, y'all... between being unable to comprehend friendship being anything but temporary because she's a fuckup, and feeling like she's failing people for not being able to help them with something that could, she hasn't been very happy and as the new arbiter of the Grocery store, has put most of her thoughts and efforts into that and her unicorn.
CR YOU'D LIKE: Please, god, someone either app Zenyatta or take on a character who can help her learn confidence and self esteem. Right now she's in this place where she's like 'haha friendship was great until i fucked up everything' for NO REASON because she's a frail 14 year old with a very bad history. Tonika has difficulty understanding actions of kindness and forgiveness without ulterior motives and feels like being nice is like playing the role of Santa: leaving good things for people and then running away so she doesn't have to deal with the ensuing friendship.

Alternatively, CR where someone teaches her the above but is doing it for a nefarious, manipulative reason would be great too!
CR YOU WOULD NOT LIKE: Probably not an excess of negative CR, because Tonika shuts down with characters like those, says whatever they want to hear, and makes a note not to speak with them again. This isn't the same as negative CR with a positive impact, though!
ANYTHING ELSE? I'd really like her to have an excuse to use her powers. I think the only way she'd be pushed to use it is to save someone's life, though-- just in case anyone feels like going into the danger zone this month.

Dunno if Dave's got anything to teach her about confidence and self-esteem but they've definitely got other stuff in common! Also he could DEFINITELY talk to her about his sister, the Seer of Light, if you think that might help her get some additional perspective on her powers.

I think that'd be interesting! But it takes Tonika a lot to admit to someone she has it in the first place... iirc she's only told three people and two were close friends and one was because she was feeling vulnerable. It might take some serious CR for her to admit to that bc she feels like admitting it = that person can't trust her anymore because she has it in the first place HAHA;;

I definitely want them to talk more, though! The thread we had before Christmas was amazing ahhhh

Yeah of course! But also Dave ends up bringing up stuff about his own powers and Homestuck all the time, so it could just come up, you know? And I do want these two to be able to gradually develop some kind of trust over time because Dave already has good feelings about Tonika as well as a budding worry about her.

Also YES I had a ton of fun, I'm so happy Santa got to battle the Grinch. SO HAPPY.

Yeah! Developing feelings of trust between them might lead to her confessing it to him, as that's been mostly the case so far. Especially if things like seers come up-- Tonika's view of her power is as a total universal manipulator, because if you know the easy way out of every action and conversation, it feels like you're just toying with people. Hearing a different side to it would help her!

SAME... that's the first time Tonika got silly in this game, AND ALSO MADE A DICK JOKE IN HER LIFE? mostly she just thought them inside her head and laughed to herself. Dave is a wizard.

Harry's had a lot of interactions with Tonika by now, and he's got a soft spot for women and kids to begin with, so he'd definitely be in a position to lean on for support and guidance.

Plus, he's got relevant experience with messed up guardians and not belonging and all that.

Awww. I really want them to interact more too! Their first time hitting it off + their conversation in her post asking about parents really resonated with her, so she kind of wants to seek him out and talk to him. Tonika works at the grocery store, so if you ever want to log a casual meeting, he's free to drop by there!

CURRENTLY: He's been in Ruby City for a little under a month, staying in the forest and generally wandering around getting used to the place.

WHO ARE THEY?: A self-proclaimed "Ordinary High School Student".
CURRENTLY: Touma has just returned to this lovely city and currently has no idea what to do with himself.

A Blast From The Past - If anyone is still here that remembers Touma from his previous stay at Ruby City or knew one of these characters (JW, Phoenix Wright, Black Rock Shooter, Yuna, Tojiko), any interaction between them would be great.

Dealings With The Occult - The world of the supernatural is something Touma is quite intimate with despite his longing for a normal, less pain filled life. Given his experience, I'm very interested in having him meet other characters who are deeply connected to the supernatural.

Bromance - He needs this bad! If you got a character who you think would really click with him and be able to have wonderful nonsensical discussions about bunny girls, please send them this way.

Hey! I remember you having Touma here back in the day, though I was playing a different Dave at the time. Just wanted to say welcome back and to note Dave's always here to be completely supernatural and unapologetically nonsensical.

Awesome! I would love for Touma to meet a professional Wizard Detective. How about they join forces to save all the people? He's not the most knowledgeable when it comes to the supernatural, but he has a shit ton of experience with it. Most it is comes from his interactions with Magicians and Espers, but he has encountered other exotic beings such as... A handful of Saints. A Valkyrie. Two Angels. A something that resembles a human. And a couple reality warping Magic Gods capable of destroying all of existence.

Oh and apparently Vampires exist too. Not that they ever show up in the series.

I like that idea a lot. Harry's only had one instance of kickass heroism so far, and even that didn't go completely well.

He's also met a Valkyrie, fallen angels, godlike fey, and several varieties of vampires. Along with a veritable who's who's of the supernatural world.

So, how should they meet? Do you want their first encounter to be in a more casual setting or should it be something a bit more dangerous?

Alrighty then! Fortunately, we have a decent selection of convenient monsters to massacre living right inside the city. Harry can have fun playing the part of the hero and saving Touma from becoming monster chow. I can have Touma arrive in Ruby City on the night of New Year's Eve and have him get drawn to the festival within the park. Of course, being the unlucky bastard he is, he gets attacked by the monsters that were lurking right outside the festival.

WHO ARE THEY?: Nameless little girl from a desert world controlled by a corporation after the apocalypse. She's going to grow up to save the world, but right now she's just a kid pretending that she's not horribly traumatized by seeing most of her family murdered.

CURRENTLY: Currently she's living with the other Killjoy's and readjusting after being in the catacombs for several weeks. She's coming up on being in the game for a year and she's actually dealing pretty well with being away from home so long.

CR YOU'D LIKE: Anything! I'd love the Girl to make more friends and have more people to help make this place feel like home. I'd also love for something antagonistic. She can be a real brat and she's mouthy, so if you want someone to argue with this kid is also ready to sass.

CR YOU WOULD NOT LIKE: As long as it doesn't kill her, I'm up for pretty much anything.
