Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. EVENTS - Feel free to look through our event tag!

[There's a little mumble and a groan, Aoi staying cuddled up and asleep. Or trying to. The shake to his shoulder makes Aoi wake up and rub at his eyes, still sleepy.]

[ Young is only reinforced as Aoi wakes, and Maglor sighs, automatically bringing his hand to card soothingly through dark hair. ]

I think, youngling, you have wandered into the wrong bed last night.

[He blinks sleepily at Maglor at first. No one has done that in a long time and he silently objects at being called youngling.]

Was warmer here.

[ If Aoi doesn't like it, he should aim to stop behaving like a little baby bird~ ]

And I am a stranger, youngling, what if I meant you harm?

[Of only he'd grown up in the human realm...]

Not many people are able to hurt me here. [Still so sleepy. Aoi just yawns then. He wants to go back to sleep, he was comfy.]

[ Maglor sighs a little, ruffling his hair ]

This is a land unlike your own, with folk you do not know. [ He points out ] You cannot know that for certain. You should not be so trusting, youngling.

I'm unlike anything they know too. I have that on my side. And the spirits, spirits around the city talk to me.

[Little shrug. He supposes he's awake now and sleeping again isn't in the cards.]

That does not make you safe! [ Maglor scolds ]

But there, since you are awake, I think we had best see to breaking your fast.

[huff] You sound like Himari.

[He supposes he could eat.]

Ah... Yukari usually does the cooking back home. Ise and I are terrible at it.

Who is Himari?

[ Maglor chuckles and slips off the bed ]

That is fine - I cook for the little lord whose house you have invaded often, although not as much, these days. He will not mind my use of the kitchen.

[ And Sebastian can go jump ]

She's the owner of Momochi House. A friend. [Whose life he may have complicated a bit, and vice-versa, with his getting into the house as a child.]

It isn't that often. I'm not used to having so much... freedom.

Where you stay, hm?

[ He raises an eyebrow ]

My friends and I- I guess you could say we were squatters until she inherited it.

[He gives another little shrug.]

There's a story. About Momochi House being cursed by the Omamori-sama. A demon. And the Omamori-sama doesn't belong in the human realm anymore. [It's a gross misuse of his powers, he knows it, but a moment later, Aoi becomess Nue.]

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor snorts in amusement ]

You are fortunate she sounds too kind to remove you.

[ A sharp hiss and for a moment grey eyes spark with silver flame, hand reaching for a blade which is not there, before Maglor relaxes again ]

I see. And this makes you the Omamori-sama, I take it?

As much as Himari would like to kick me out, she can't. I can never leave Momochi House. I... am more ayakashi now than human, I've been told.

[Luckily, Nue is more awake and has better reflexes than he does as Aoi, and he throws himself back out of reach.]

I am. Momochi House picked me, it should have been Himari but I broke the seal. I am Nue.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor deliberately breathes deep and relaxes, and the crackle of power that is the Song responding to it's minstrel fades back into the world around it, the tide going out ]

Hmph. [ He opinions what he thinks about houses picking people and then not letting them go ]

I do not know what ayakashi are, for they... you are not from my world, I think. But well met, Nue. I am Maglor

[He can't blame him. As a little boy, he'd hated that he couldn't leave. At first. Then he grew attached to the ayakashi.]

Demons, I believe, is the most accurate translation. Spirits I think would describe most better, we're not evil like stories say. Not all of us. [He bows his head a little.]

For the sake of ease, like this I am Nue. Otherwise I am Aoi.

[ Maglor crooks his head to study him, eyes seeing more than flesh and bone ]

No. I do not think you are evil. Aoi when you look human. Alright. You look older, like this.

[ And then a small quirk of a smile ]

[His cat-ears flick a little.]

Do I? Well, the Omamori-sama is ancient, I'm not the first one. Himari should have become Nue, if no one had broken into the house.

[He wonders briefly what Himari would have looked like as Omamori-sama.]

A bit. I should change back to eat but... I unfortunately have no extra clothes here. Ise and Yukari usually kept a robe on hand for me.

[ his eyes narrow ]

A possession? No. Not quite - tis not the same sound as one of the Houseless. But a...cloak, a legacy of power.

I am sorry that you were bound so, Nue. But as for clothes, that, I think I can provide although they will be a little large until I can get them altered.

Possession? No. Aoi and I are mostly the same person.

[He gives a faint smile and shakes his head.]

I'm not. I have friends and purpose still and I enjoy looking after other ayakashi. And you wouldn't need to alter anything. It would just be until I get back to my clothes.

But not quite, eh? A cloak of power, a legacy passed down.

[ He hums softly. Just enjoying one's job doesn't make it right, but he won't argue ]

Ah, I do not mind sharing. Having an extra set is always useful, after all.

A great deal like that, yes.

[Aoi's never really minded it. He can't think of many reasons to return to the outside world, even if he could. Plus no one even knows he existed anymore, there's nothing for him to go back to.]

Besides, clothes here are easy to acquire, and it is not difficult to alter things. Here - this is one of mine robes, Maedhros' will be too large for you.

[So tiresome. In a gust of smoke, Nue is gone and Aoi is left in his place. Bare and looking a bit embarrassed.]
