Hello everyone! I'm Bry, a totally new player to both the game and this character. Bear with me as I try to figure them both out!

Meet Kyrian of Thrace (as he was known in Ancient Greece) or Kyrian Hunter (as he's known in present day New Orleans). Hopefully someone will be lucky enough to learn his real name. He doesn't give it out lightly. Kyrian is a Dark Hunter, which in a nutshell is a servant of Artemis who fights to save oblivious humans from getting killed by Daimons. He has a lot of vampire like characteristics, so you'll only run into him a night.

Hopefully there are some obnoxious teenagers or simply stubborn people who won't let Kyrian's evasion of personal details stop them from getting to know him. He has some pretty unique life experiences... like getting turned over to his enemies by his wife to be tortured and crucified. Yeah. EXPERIENCES.

On a side note, does anyone in the game actually use AIM still? Because that would be amazing.

Hello! I am Neko Sandy and I just threw my boy at your log, but I want to stop by here too. I am, unfortunately, one of the canon blind, but I looked over his app and I gotta say I might need to fix that because talk about an interesting canon! Plus it's really cool that he is originally from around the same time period than my boy is! Of course, Diarmuid was over making a name for himself in Scotland and Ireland, but details!

These boys would probably would actually have some interesting discussions RE: war, love, betrayal and all that jazz. We will just have to see if Diarmuid's open nature and trusting personality can wear down Kyrian's stubbornness!

Yeah, both Chronicles of Nick and the Dark Hunter series are pretty good so far. Definitely worth a read (as long as you're okay with the romance aspect of the Dark Hunter ones).

Kyrian has a friend that's from that area, though he's not quite as old as Kyrian is, so this could definitely be interesting!

I wish him luck! Though this mirror even could make that easier. Kyrian's secretive nature is definitely a big personality trait for him.

My boy has a literal love curse on his face, so I think I can handle a little romance. LOL! But speaking of said curse, it got me to wondering. Kyrian obviously has experience with the Greek Pantheon and the assorted tales. Does he have much knowledge of myth and legend from other cultures? I ask because Diarmuid is actually the Diarmuid Ua Duibhne from Irish/Scottish myth and legend. It's always interesting to find out what worlds have similar myths to our own and what ones don't. He ends up just as curious about where his myth shows up and where it doesn't, so don't worry about 4th walling him on that if it is something Kyrian might know.

Diarmuid is not going to be at his best during the mirror event. LOL! Oh man, things get ugly fast when you take a man heralded for being the perfect knight and reverse all his core personality traits...

My guess is he wouldn't know it. His friend would, but Kyrian focuses more on the not so myth and legend. He would know the demons/dark creatures that might be "myth" to normal humans but are actually real.

Yeah... One of Kyrian's big traits is protecting people, so that won't end well. I'm hoping to come up with some way to bring that out...

But the lack of secrecy thing could help get a glimpse into who he is really fast.

He is going to have plenty of things that go bump in the night to play around with here, that is for sure!

This event is going to be such a blast for all the secrets and hidden traits it has the potential to bring out. I can't wait! :-D

Oh! And I forgot to mention that the muse is very excited to have another master swordsman in the game. I think the last besides himself was Vergil from Devil May Cry and he's been gone a while.

SWEET. Kyrian will love this. He has nobody to practice with at home given anytime two Dark Hunters are near each other they drain each other's powers. He's used to being alone.

Oh man, that sucks. How can a hunter keep his skills sharp if he can't practice against someone on his level? I mean killing the things that go bump in the night only gets you so far!

If it doesn't happen to come up in the thread, the school mentioned in Diarmuid's first tag is Spiral Training School. It's pretty empty nowadays aside from Diarmuid and his buddy Afonso, but open to anyone who wants to stop by to learn or practice. Kyrian is completely free to find it on a wander some night if he wants to.

Tell that to him, and he'll love you forever.

I'll keep that in mind. If he doesn't find out Diarmuid's good with a sword any other way, would it be reasonable for him to find him practicing there one night? I could easily have him hear a sparring match and go to investigate.

Oh, it would definitely be reasonable. Since he doesn't have to sleep, he's doing stuff at the school when it's night and he's not patrolling. If he's tried to sleep and woke up from nightmares, well he will be a little more into the sparring than usual!

Some nights it's a good thing the guest rooms are soundproofed as well as can be with what they have available to them in the city!

These two are sounding more and more alike... Kyrian deal with some pretty horrific nightmares himself and doesn't sleep much during the day.

Since we're logging... Kyrian can read thoughts (usually it happens without trying) would that work on Diarmuid? Not that I know if he'd really use it.

If Diarmuid ends up closer to Kyrian too, he might notice the guy's eyes are totally black. Probably won't mean anything to him, but hey, figured I'd throw it out there. The fangs should be hidden well enough that they won't be noticed though.

Sobs And we haven't even gotten into the whole love and betrayal aspect from Diarmuid's end. Not so direct as poor Kyrian, but still led to Diarmuid's death.

Right! I noticed that. When it comes to Servants (which is what Diarmuid is called in canon), they have enhanced magical and physical resistances, but nothing specific for mental protection. At least, Diarmuid doesn't. If Kyrian's mind reading is magically based, he might feel a little more resistance than if it is based on anything else (straight up psychic abilities, god-given gifts etc), but the lack of specific mental protections and the fact Diarmuid is so open and trusting, means his mind is pretty much open to mind reading. Actual mental manipulation is a little different, but mind reading is totally a go. If there is something specific Kyrian is looking for or a specific statement that draws his attention more than another, let me know and I will throw some information your way in my next tag.

Thank you for the eye information since Diarmuid likely will move closer as the thread goes on. It might not mean anything to him, but he is very observant and would pick up on it. (Heck, he has a canon ability that is based on his observation skills. Me, on the other hand, am not always so quick on the pick up! LOL!)

Don't you love when your character has some ability that you don't, yet someone you have to figure out how to do that? Fun fun.

Kyrian's mind reading is all psychic ability, so we should be good to go on that. Not that he'll be looking for anything intentional I don't think.

Uggg...it's annoying and fun all at the same time. It's gives the imagination a real workout!

Cool, then all he's going to get is minor resistance before sliding right on through. Just mention in tag if he is going to try intentionally/not intentionally and I'll give you something fun to play with.

Considering the level of BS in Diarmuid's canon, I apologize to Kyrian in advance for any crazy he might pick up! LOL!

Oh man, Diarmuid is suddenly very sorry for Kyrian. Diarmuid himself had 5 kids and deep down, there part of him that is glad he died before he had to see all of them through that crazy time. He will never admit to it, but that doesn't make it any less true. LOL!

You're going to break Kyrian's heart. About the only thing he's ever wanted is kids, and that's pretty much impossible for him now. Or at least it is at this point in his canon.

Oh no... And that will upset Diarmuid so much if he ever learns about it. Being a father was one of his greatest joys after he couldn't be a knight anymore. His wife and he didn't have really what could be called a 'traditional' love, but oh did he love the heck out of their children.

Dude, really, that's exactly what Kyrian wants. And he knows full well that there would be nothing better than being a father. One of his own father's sayings is that for someone with their status, a child is the only one who can truly love them for them and not for the wealth they bring.

OMG my heart. Okay, I really do need to go find this series now. How sad that they have to settle for that just because of the wealth and power they have. It's true for people in that position, but still sad!

It's such an amazing series. What's more, every book I read makes me fall in love with another one of the Dark Hunters. The one I just finished made me go, "Oh gosh, Zarek would be even more fun to play than Kyrian."

That sounds like both a blessing and a curse. Great for someone like me who always ends up liking characters who DIE (though that might be harder in this series with immortality and all), but also bad because who has time to PLAY all the great characters!
