Let's take this for a spin

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.
Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations:
- Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
- Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
- The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
- The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
- The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
- The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
- Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
- Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
- Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
- Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
- Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!
Charlotte Aulin ✟ Castlevania
[ Charlotte hadn't bothered waiting around at the train station. This place... was this a more modern portrait? Arriving on that train, it certainly felt like she was back within the gothic victorian city portrait again... except there were no monsters lurking around that she could see or detect.
Just... people.
At first, she'd thought she'd been transported directly back into Dracula's Castle, something that she thought to be impossible -- she and Jonathan had defeated him and sent him and his servant Death back to the depths of hell where they belonged, right?
Regardless, she'd found her way to the Cathedral, and entered it, finding it practically empty, which was fine by her. Charlotte wasn't much of a people person, and the solitude was nice.
When you see the young witch, she's standing calmly in front of one of the large stained glass windows, a large, heavy looking tome tucked carefully under her left arm. It looks old and worn, but looks can be deceiving. Magic users and those sensitive to it can probably feel the power and magic pulsing from the otherwise ordinary looking book. Feel free to question her about it, but don't think about touching it. ]
[ The Library ]
[ THIS was more like it. Finally, a place that would surely give her a good, decent explanation as to where the hell she was. She'd eagerly grabbed an arm full of books and had plopped them down at one of the tables furthest away from... well, wherever anyone else was sitting.
If approached, one will take notice again of the heavy tome that is resting on the table. Again, those with sensitivity to magic can probably feel something special about it. ]
[cathedral]
The Cathedrel would be a good place to get himself oriented, he decided as he started to head over at a quick clip, only slowing as something nagged at the very edge of his sense]
Huh...?
[Cautiously he pushes the door open, and peeks in, a hand stuck into his pocket just in case]
no subject
And yet, there's something... odd about him. ]
Hello... I'm going to assume that you're not here for the scenery either, hm?
[ Blunt and to the point, as per usual, but at least she's being pleasant. ]
no subject
I'm actually trying to find the person that decided to dump me here - I was kind of in the middle of something.
[He steps inside the church, looking around at how it's built. Doesn't look desecrated or in shambles, then he folds his arms over his chesting, sighing softly]
I don't suppose you know anything about this place, do you?
no subject
So am I. I haven't found any clues yet, though, other than those posters on the walls at the station.
[ There's a pause as she turns to face him completely, a slender brow arching. ]
You... did take notice of those, right? As for having any information, no, not yet. But if I can find a library, I plan on heading over there... most libraries are filled with newspaper clippings and books about the area that they're in, so I'm guessing this one does, too.
[ There's a pause. She's a little bit of a social retard, something no doubt her partner would call her out on if he were here, and she realizes that she's forgetting to do something-- ah, right. Introductions. ]
My name is Charlotte, by the way. Charlotte Aulin.
no subject
[He pursed his lips, brows furrowed. The person... or persons? responsible are most likely guys with some serious mojo]
Maybe some computers too, though guessing from this place - they might be obsolete.
[Soma pauses as Charlotte turned around, she's rather petite like Mina is, and reminding him more of what he was suppose to be doing]
Charlotte, huh? I'm Soma Cruz, nice to meet you.
[He bows politely]
no subject
[ Because as far as she's concerned, she's going to have this figured out within a day or two. If she can help topple a castle, save two vampiric souls and free a trapped one, take down Death itself twice along with two big bad vampires in a single night?
She can do anything.
Of course, she'd had help then, but that wasn't the point. ]
Eh? What's a computer?
[ She's dead serious, Soma. ]
Oh, it's nice to meet you, too, Soma... although I do wish it were on different terms.
[ You know. The not-so-kidnapped terms. ]
no subject
[He puts a finger to his lip, okay. How do you explain a computer? Let's see... let's see...]
Well - it's kind of like a thinking, no - a data-gathering and creating machine.
[And he trails off, pacing. This place looks old enough to not have any computers with voice or touch command, probably just the old dinosaurs with manual input]
It has... like a typewriter keyboard and a viewing screen. You bring up the right... uhm, Oh. Boy. Programs, which performs different functions and you in put what you'd like it to do, and if it's within it's capabilities, it can do it.
no subject
That sounds pretty far fetched. Amazing and wonderful, but far fetched.
[ There's a pause, though, as she begins running through various scenarios in her mind. She taps her chin for a moment, and then looks back at him. ]
Just out of curiosity... where are you from? [ Another pause. ] And what year was it?
no subject
[He frowns, then again, he was inside an eclispe, maybe time travel isn't so strange?]
I've been living in Japan, though I was travelling in Europe when I got kidnapped. And right now... it's 2036.
no subject
Just as I thought. You and I are from completely different eras and countries. I'm from 1944... World War II is still raging throughout Europe.
[ Dropping her hand and instead placing it on her hip, she hums thoughtfully. ]
So what I would like to know, is how is it possible?
[ She wants very much to blame the STUPID castle. So very much... but it's been destroyed for a good few days now. Maybe this is an after effect? ]
no subject
[His eyes shot open, and his head shakes. This is nuts]
Well at -
[He stops. It's probably not a good idea to mention anything that close to her era if she is telling the truth]
Nevermind.
[If this was Dracula's castle, he could believe someone has been trapped there since the early 20th century. But here? This is too weird, and too much he doesn't know]
The more I learn, It feels like the less I know.
no subject
[ SHE HEARD THAT. SHE HEARD IT, AND IT CAN'T BE TAKEN BACK NOW, SOMA.
Either way, she shrugs her shoulders, deciding that being calm is the best way to go about things. For now, at least. ]
Yes, well, we won't learn any more about this place unless we go out and do something about it.
[ You heard right, Soma. We, as in the both of you. Looks like she's just decided you're her new partner. Congrats. ]
no subject
[He sighs, and hopes she understands. She's definitely an assertive person]
You're right... so, is there anything special you can do that can help?
[Soma's not exactly thrilled about being volunteered, but it makes more sense to search around together in case of trouble]
no subject
[ From the way things are looking, at least. But she could be wrong... maybe that's not even what Soma was going to say, but she does understand so she drops it. ]
I know my way around books, and if there are any dangers here, I can protect you and I both... granted I haven't seen anything dangerous yet, but I just don't have the best feeling about this place, you know?
no subject
I can use some weapons... and a little bit of magic, not a whole lot.
[Soma doesn't want tell the whole story unless he knows her better]
Honestly, any place I'm not familiar with isn't exactly a good place in my book.
no subject
[ Sorry, Soma, but that grabs her attention right off the bat. And she looks interested, too. ]
That's good to hear, because so can I. Are you employed by the church as well, then?
[ That last bit has the young mage nodding. ]
Something else we can agree on. Especially since we appear to have been kidnapped.
no subject
[He pauses. So the Church regularly employs Witches, who would've thought?]
No, I'm not - I'm just trying it figure it out myself.
no subject
[ She gives her large tome a small, pleased pat. ]
Regardless, how convenient of our captors to allow two magic users into the city. We can use it to our advantage.
Cathedral
Excuse me...I seem to have gotten myself a bit lost. Do you know where the nearest graveyard might be? I thought it'd be near the cathedral, if anywhere.
[She smiles, a little awkwardly as she's obviously nervous about the environment, her self-control slipping enough to show a hint of fang.]
no subject
She doesn't act hostile, and as such neither does Charlotte... for the moment. Her fingers do, however, tighten around her Book of Binding. ]
...You're a vampire.
[ There's no bark to her bite, though. She's dealt with enough vampires in her young life as it is, and at least this one isn't acting... well, insane. Her guard is up and she's getting ready for an attack, just in case. ]
No, I have no idea. I've only just arrived.
no subject
I-I don't know vhat you're talking about, I'm sure! There's no such thing as...ah...this isn't going to work, is it?
[There's resignation in her voice as the pale woman holds up both hands in a "you got me" gesture, smiling sheepishly.]
Promise I don't bite. I just saw that book, and something about it...ah...drew me. This whole damn cathedral seems to do that, actually. Keep finding myself wandering back over here.
no subject
No, it's not. I've seen plenty of vampires before... except you don't seem like any of the ones I've met.
[ Which could or couldn't be a good thing. She's going to find out, though, she assumes. ]
It doesn't surprise me... [ She gives her Book of Binding a small pat, but doesn't elaborate. ] Maybe it's just the dark, creepy gothic feel of the place?
