JANUARY TEST DRIVE!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Use an RNG to choose a location and prompt, or wait for someone else to tag.
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations
1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.
Scenarios
1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - The City is currently overrun with the DESPAIR DISEASE, which means some people are more violent than normal, the overall atmosphere is more dreary than it normally would be, and there's some pretty vicious creatures roaming the streets! Also, there's hardly anything to eat. What a frightening thing!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

Sharon was used to being in strange situations, usually thanks to SHIELD. But, normally, she was briefed before being tossed into the unknown. She took in her surroundings and it looked like some damage had been done to some of the buildings. At least it didn't look as bad as cities looked after the Hulk passes through.
She found a place that she recognized. A coffee shop. She considered that to be a good place to get some answers. At least she can get an idea of what the locals were like. Sharon entered and went to the counter to order a coffee for herself as she figured out her plan. She already tried her comm link but she was unable to get a hold of anyone at SHIELD. She really wished big brother was still there watching her every move.

"Hey there, neighbour."
Unlike the last time he'd called her that, his tone was friendly, if slightly concerned. He had...mostly... forgiven her for all the deception, but he didn't know if Sharon even knew what was going on with SHIELD. If she was here, it had to be recent.

OH MY GOD I DIDN'T GET THIS NOTIF I'M SO SORRY THIS IS SO IMPORTANT
"Complicated," he said wryly. "Did you just get here?" He hesitated. "Uh, I have no idea what your real name is, but I'm guessing it's not Kate," he admitted uncomfortably.
LOL AS IMPORTANT AS STEVE OFFERING HIS MACHINE IN HIS ROOM?
"What exactly is complicated here? Any other SHIELD agents? HYDRA?" she continued getting immediately down to business.
At least that important ;A;
"To the best of what we've been able to figure out, this is a 'pocket universe'. There are people here from all over, not just from our world, but other plants, and other versions of Earth, too, where things are different." He shook his head. "No SHIELD, no HYDRA." He leaned forward, serious. "Except you, of course."
no subject
"So what is your plan while we're here?" she asked. Regardless of his answer, if it didn't agree with, she wouldn't be taking orders from him.
no subject
He cracked a faint smile at her question. "My plan is to escape. Tony Stark is here, along with Bucky Barnes. I've formed a militia with a few dozen people I trust, who patrol the city, keeping it safe for non-combatants, and collects intel. We're all working together to try to figure out why we're here, and how to get home."
no subject
“Well, you can count me in on being a part of the militia.” If he thought she would not offer her assistance on that, he still had a lot to learn about Sharon Carter. “Where can I get briefed on everything that has happened here?” she asked. The fun part of being an agent—being debriefed. She almost missed it. The keyword being almost.
no subject
He smiled, and nodded, completely unsurprised that she'd offered. "I'll add you to the roster. Usually, I always take new people out the first time." His lips crooked. "It'll be more fun than doing laundry, I hope." He was really trying not to make this awkward. Honestly. But it was possibly not working.
At the question about briefing, he shrugged unhappily. "Unfortunately, our information gathering isn't that organized. Phoenix Wright and Waver Velvet are the guys to go to for all the intel we've gathered so far. But a lot of it is just word of mouth at this point. People get sent home often enough that it's hard to keep the information organized."

Sharon almost laughed at the small mention of their first real conversation. Then she had to blow her cover and he gave her the cold shoulder after that. “I don’t think you realized when you offered your washer for use, it sounded like an incredibly cheesy come on line.” She had to go there. Need to work on your game, Steve.
“But patrolling will definitely be more fun than laundry. I can find out if I can keep up with Captain America.”
no subject
He actually reddened a bit at her teasing. Thing was, it sort of was a come on line. He had really never gotten good at asking people out, and knew very well that he'd fumbled that ball badly that day. She'd been kind to let him down so nicely at the time - though later he'd realized just what had really been going on. She couldn't exactly have accepted, under the circumstances.
no subject
Captain America blushing? That is kind of adorable. If she was actually his neighbor and didn't have secrets, she would've accepted his offer back then. It was sweet, and it was one of the rare instances she got to see Steve Rogers and not Captain America.
"...I'm sorry for the deceit during my assignment. I thought I was helping to protect you, but I think the Director had a different motive."

...I'm really sorry
He gave her time to settle somewhere in the shop before he entered, pulling the rim of his baseball cap down so he could sweep on either side of him. He counted the patrons, the tables, the chairs and the escape routes and decided that if she was indeed HYDRA, this place would be getting a new colour of paint.
The Winter Soldier ghosted silently up to the agent in question. "Where in the sea of red are you drifting, SHIELD agent?"
Bucky, stop being a creeper
“I don’t drift. I firmly stand behind my beliefs,” she stated firmly. She would never be a HYDRA agent, and no one could sway her to that side. Not after all the stories she’d heard from her Aunt Peggy. “You can’t be a SHIELD agent,” she continued. “I know everyone that is in SHIELD.” She may be bluffing, but if he were a SHIELD agent then he wouldn’t be hiding from her. Her blue eyes watched him, trying to read his movements. If he tried anything, she wanted to be ready.
It's his new secret identity. Like it?
"And what beliefs are those?" He right hand shifted from his jacket pocket, and his fingers twisted in a sign of acknowledgement between agents of HYDRA. It would be meaningless to anyone outside of the organization. "No, I am not." SHIELD meant nothing to him. HYDRA meant less.
Worst secret identity ever.
"You gonna give me your name or will I have to make one up for you?" She questioned before taking another sip of her coffee.
Don't be jealous!
He didn't mind people making up names for him. It was easier than accepting those that belonged to him. "I acknowledge no name right now. What is yours?"
She's not. She likes her secret identity of being a hot blonde.
Her mind started to think on the reason he approached her. He wasn’t a part of SHIELD, and if he was HYDRA, he would’ve tried to kill her already. So what was his MO? Considering her current situation, she really didn’t have time to be tactful. “If you aren’t a part of SHIELD then why do you care who’s side I’m on? I doubt you’re HYDRA because you would’ve tried to kill me already if you were.” Especially, considering she held her gun at Rumlow’s head to try to stop him from launching the helicarriers. She would think she made it on the ‘kill’ list of HYDRA.
Fair point
He eyed her carefully before glancing around the room at the other patrons in the establishment. He had never particularly been given training on the skills of threatening. Normally just being present was enough and his handler did the verbal threatening. "Because you being part of HYDRA means that you die a slow death," he said simply. Best to go with the truth, he decided. "I am no longer affiliated with any organization."
I bet Bucky wishes he was a hot blonde
Even if he wasn’t apart of HYDRA, she wasn’t ready to let her guard down. “Next question that comes to mind is what do you want with me?” He wasn’t part of any organization, so did that mean he was a mercenary? She came into this coffee shop for answers, and instead more questions were piling up just by the sheer presence of this stranger.
He could bleach his hair?
He had simply wanted to know if she was what she claimed to be and if she wasn't, he'd murder her on the spot. "Nothing," he said and finally eased some of his weight from subtly crowding her. He stepped back and reached up with his right hand to adjust his cap. "If you are SHIELD, you can do as you please. Do you know Steve Rogers?"
But is he all about that bass like Sharon?
Sharon took in his appearance once more. Would Steve trust a sketchy individual like him? He said he wanted nothing from her, so did he just randomly approach SHIELD agents and check their alliance out of sheer curiosity?
Depends if he's wearing his shirt to be honest
He liked talking about Steve. He admitted that he liked it, one of the few things he knew for certain that there was a basis of 'like' for. It was on the same level that he could say that he enjoyed food. "You worked with Steve at SHIELD? And didn't betray him during HYDRA's emergence?"
Bucky's anthem should be sexy and i know it...while looking creepy
She nodded as she remembered the time when HYDRA agents were springing up like weeds. "Yes, I worked with him at SHIELD," she replied. She decided to leave out the spying part of her job. "I held a HYDRA agent at gun point when they tried to take over." She still had the faint scar from Rumlow's knife. "I wouldn't betray him."
He'd get all the dates
