Locations

1.TRAIN STATION - The place where everyone gets dumped off at. Your first view of Ruby City, complete with informational posters telling you all about where you've ended up.
2. THE BEACH - Lovely year-round, though in the winter months, you're probably not likely to dip your toes in.
3. THE BLACK STALLION - A rather quaint bar. Supposedly, the burgers are great, but you don't see anyone immediately who's willing to serve you. Maybe you're meant to get it yourself.
4. THE OBELISK - The tall monolith in the center of the city marks the gathering place of many events, though right now it seems to be cold and dark.
5. THE CLOCKTOWER - Offering an impressive view of the city, several residents come here to clear their heads, if they don't mind braving the narrow staircase.
6. THE COFFEE JOINT - the front windows are warm and welcoming, and it seems there's always someone friendly enough to fix you a cup when you wander through.
7. THE CATACOMBS - Intrepid, aren't you? Those weird holes may beg exploring, but go too deep and you're going to be in a lot of trouble, considering the viciousness of the creatures held within.
8. THE CITY STREETS - All told, Ruby City is a lovely place, once you get past the fact that several of the buildings look derelict and on the verge of falling down. There's no harm in doing a little sightseeing.
9. THE PARK - You thought it'd be a lovely stroll, but the park is anything but friendly, if those approaching wolf-like creatures are any indication.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like what we've come up with? Feel like picking your own place? There's a whole host of lovely locations to choose from in the City.


Scenarios


1. NEW ARRIVAL - Step off that train, walk down the street. People usually latch on to newcomers to try and help them out. Even if you look shy, the other residents probably won't be!
2. WATCH TALK - Feeling lost? Disoriented? Don't worry, everyone feels that way on their first day. Fortunately - if the signs at the station are to believed - the watch in your pocket can be used to talk to whoever else might be here.
3. BAD WEATHER - Aw, man. Whether it's snow, or rain, or just plain cold, today was definitely the wrong day to get dumped off in a City in the middle of nowhere.
4. A RUN-IN - Maybe you weren't watching. Maybe they weren't. Either way, you just bumped into someone. Perhaps apologies are in order?
5. HELP, IT HURTS - Clumsy, aren't you? Perhaps wherever the train brought you from wasn't so friendly, or you just tripped and twisted your ankle. Either way, you're in a bit of pain. Hopefully someone will notice your booboos and help patch you up.
6. HUNGRY - It isn't very obvious sometimes that restaurants are what they are, especially in a place like Ruby City. Where can a person go to get a bite to eat around here?
7. MISTAKEN IDENTITY - Hey, there's someone you know! --Or maybe not.
8. BEING FOLLOWED - Maybe you're just being paranoid, or maybe you've got a reason to be afraid. Whatever it is, it feels like there's eyes on you...
9. CURRENT EVENTS - None at the moment, but feel free to look through our event tag!
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN - Don't like any of these ideas? Feel free to come up with your own!

Nagihiko Fujisaki | Shugo Chara | 5-1

[nadenagi]

Nadeshiko had gotten herself settled in, met a few people, made some appearances, but it was time for her to rest. So Nagihiko was taking his turn to explore this new city.

"And the best way to do that... is from up there," Rhythm suggested, pointing to the top of the clock tower.

Well... why not? The rain had stopped, and it wasn't like he was afraid of a broken leg. He didn't fall that easily. So he followed Rhythm up the stairs, whistling to himself as he went.

When they came to the top, he found a rail to lean against, and looked out over the world. He leaned his full weight forward on the rail carelessly, legs spread far out behind him, arms across the top of the rail, chin digging into his own wrist. Rhythm had been right. They could see the whole City from up there, it seemed.

It was pretty awesome. Still... he wished Amu or Rima were there... to see it with him.

"Have a care, youngling, the railings are slippery." A voice drifts up to both of them. "And your little one, as well, although if he flies so well, I suppose he has less reason to worry than most."

There's a man on the ledge, watching them. In the setting sun, he almost seems to glow.

YAY! Still canon reveiwing, so may shift slightly in how I play him. Nadeshiko I could play asleep.

[nadenagi]

"You can see him?" he asked, voice quiet as he tilted his head slightly to look at the other man without lifting his head. Did that mean he was a chara bearer... or.... was he from Easter?

Either way, seeming to stay relaxed seemed to be the best thing.

Rhythm settled onto his shoulder.

"Aye, I can." He tips his head curiously, grey eyes silver-lit.

"Most cannot I take it? Well, my folk have always been... perceptive."

Rising gracefully he bows, hand over heart.

"Maglor I am, and I would apologise for interrupting but" humor in his voice and sparking in his eyes "I do believe I was here first, as they say. Well met."

[nadenagi]

A slightly wry smile. "Well met. I'm Nagihiko, this is Rhythm," he said. The small chara gave a wave.

He stood and stretched his arms over his head, rolling his shoulders. "So, been here a while?" he asked, turning to lean the other way, his back to the rail, an elbow out and on it to either side.

[bythewaves]

"Rhythm, Nagihiko" He nods, repeating their names in his soft almost-accent.

"Not long." Maglor settles back against the tiles himself. "I find myself.. a little overwhelmed by company, sometimes. My family worry, if I go down to the Sea in such conditions, so... I come up here. To watch the sun set and the stars rise. That way, they know I am safe, and I can escape from the house for a while. What of you, young sirs?"

[nadenagi]

"Why would they worry if you went to the sea?" Nagihiko asked quietly, side stepping the question.

[bythewaves]

A crook of his eyebrow, he didn't miss that, young sir. But Maglor shrugs.

"Partly because the road to the sea is still dangerous in this season, by oneself. But also... I suppose they fear I will go down and not return. It ... would not be the first time."

[nadenagi]

He frowned slightly. "Clearly you have, since you are here... yes?" he asked in his quiet voice, missing the others. It was so much easier to sit back and let Amu and Tadase and Yaya talk...

[bythewaves]

"Here? In this place, aye. I have no where else to go. But most of my family remember that it has been... oh, some four thousand years, sine the last time any of them saw me."

Maglor shrugs, and something in his voice recalls the waves. "I have always been drawn to the Sea."

[nadenagi]

"........." He was pulling his leg... right?

"Four... thousand..." he repeated, giving him an odd look.

[bythewaves]

No matter how old he gets, a part of Maglor will always take delight in people's reactions to his actual age.

"Give or take, aye. I do not think I have actively left the shore for longer than a few months at a time during that period." He says thoughtfully, watching Nagihiko in amusement. "Except for the wars, at any rate."

"Uh.... huh. Right."

"You disbelieve me" Maglor smiles, amused. "I suppose to Men, such a time is unimaginable, but for my kin, I am young yet, and there are many far older than I."

[nadenagi]

"If you say so," he said, not challenging him, but not quite believing either. Then he glanced at Rhythm and shared a smile with the small chara.

"Then again, I suppose I've seen some strange things myself."

[bythewaves]

A quiet amused smile. "Well, there is nothing I can do to prove myself, hm? So you will just have to take my word for it." But his eyes, for a moment, are so very old. "But the world is wide, and the... universe, I believe I have heard it named? Is wider still, or so I am given to understand. I had never seen a little one like you, before either." He tips his head at Rhythm. "Or talking ponies. Not til now, in any case."

[nadenagi]

"Talking.... Ponies?"

He glanced around, as if searching for such ponies, in truth, he was looking for Rima or Kisukisu. That sounded like them.

[bythewaves]

"Her name was Twilight Sparkle." Maglor's lip curls up in a wry grin. Yes. He knows how dumb it sounds. "A very learned and intelligent young miss, from the conversation we had. I have seen another over the watches - pink. Extremely... enthusiastic." He was too boggled to actually speak to Pinkie Pie.

[nadenagi]

"Oh....my."

He... really had nothing else to say to that. At all. Just.... nothing. Where were the other guardians when he needed someone to hide behind verbally anyway. He had gotten used to talking less for a while there.

[bythewaves]

Maglor does laugh at that, a sharp, clear sound in the air.

"Aye. That was my reaction too. This world has many wonders that I had never known before, and more, I am sure, to be discovered. Perhaps you will meet her too, or things more strange yet."

[nadenagi]

"I suppose I had best work on not being surprised, then," he said softly.

[bythewaves]

"I suppose you shall" Maglor smiles gently. "But I think you may find much here to surprise you all the same."

He shrugs, looking out over the town. "I do confess that it grieves me that so few people seem to have heard of us, but we were already a fading people, I should not be surprised, I suppose. It is the Age of Men, after all."

[nadenagi]

"Well, what do you do to make yourself more well known?" he asked.

He shifted his arms back, putting his hands on the rails instead then lifted, using his hands and arms to raise his body till he could sit on the rail.

[bythewaves]

Maglor shrugs a little. "The Age of Men has little time and place for us. I sing the old tales still, but more and more, folk are forgetting us. My folk are sailling, or fading. We always knew this would be so but... it still hurts a little, to know that even the memory of us will be forgotten. Of course - different worlds, after all. I do not know what mine will come to, one day. But... I cannot see it being very different."

"But for a while" He murmurs softly. "For a little while, while the King of the Reunited Kingdom sits upon the throne, with the Evenstar of our people beside him as his Queen... yes. For a little while, folk will remember us. But the lives of Men are fleeting, and we will be forgotten again."

[nadenagi]

"You do not have to be, as long as you live, and want to be remembered, why not be so?" he asked, leaning back against nothing, seeming fearless at the height.

"If all you do is fret that things aren't changing, they aren't likely to change."

He leaned forward, hooking his heels on the rail to free a hand to touch the other's chest. "Trust your heart, trust the who you want to be."

Rhythm gave a thumbs up of agreement.
