[ He's sort of gripping his fingers on the fabric of his jacket, as a nervous twitch. When Dirk speaks, he turns his head suddenly, possibly surprised over actually getting an answer.]

Oh! [He turns. His mouth moves a bit, as he tries to gather his thoughts, before he actually says something.]

Huh-- can you tell me where we are? Please?

... Sure, man. It's Ruby City. It's.. a bubble in reality, in layman's terms.

[He stops, narrows his eyes faintly behind his shades, and shifts his weight, folding his arms across his chest.]

Trust me, there ain't any use in getting upset about it. You ain't getting out. Not under your own power, anyway.

[Another pause.]

You feelin' alright?

[He pauses for the longest time, staring at Dirk and not really moving or changing his expression, or lack thereof.]

...is- Is this a joke?

Greatest fuckin' joke ever told.

[If his voice were any dryer the air would be cracking.]

No, it ain't a joke. Sorry to disappoint.

[ He takes a slow look around, and even though he looks mostly zoned out, he's finally really taking in their surroundings. The posters clearly say what the other boy just said, he doesn't remember showing up in the train-- in fact, he doesn't even know any train stations near were he lives. He was home, last time he was "aware".

Oh. But could this even be true?

I mean, he's never been in a train before.
And he doesn't remember living somewhere with great big fields like that.
Nothing looks familiar.

And this guy just showed up here.

Is he dreaming?

These thoughts and a whole lot more are shooting through his mind as he seems to stare off into the distance.]

[Dirk tolerates this zoning out for.. well, quite a while, actually. Time becomes a funny thing when you have no one but yourself for company and he's used to spending it just standing in silence like this.

Eventually, though...

He lifts one hand and snaps his fingers loudly.]

[He blinks and shakes his head quickly before looking at him. He's so confused, and nervous.]

...how?
This isn't possible.
I can't be here.
I need to go home.
