[She siiiiighs, obviously annoyed- but not at Stiles.]

Well, thanks, kid. This is going to be wonderful. What kind of game is this?

[This woman gives Stiles the creeps. Even without knowing her background, he's pretty sure he would be skeeved out; it's straight up To Catch a Predator worthy, and he's feeling way too much like bait.]

It's--I'm not, sorry, it's just. Beautiful women, y'know. [Kind of a flimsy excuse but honestly it seems like she'd fall for it. He's jittering, although Kate can see it, thanks to the voice feed, and trying to stay as calm as he can, even if his heart's beating like a jackrabbit's.]

Kinda seems like the Hunger Games, if you'd ask me? I mean, we're not all trying to kill each other or anything, but beyond that, it's very Panem-esque.

[She gives a laugh as falsely sweet as sugary bells and you can practically hear the way her curls bounce.]

Hunger Games, huh? You sound like quite the well-read young man. What's a boy like you done to get himself landed here?

[Okay. Yeah. Kate is literally setting off every creeper alarm in his head possible. (Even more than Derek did when they first met, which is pretty impressive, to be honest.) Making a disgusted face at the compact (and overall just relieved that she can't see him), Stiles tries to keep any and all grossed out flailing to a minimum--or at least, a quiet minimum--and swallows down the familiar taste of fear and general gross in the back of his mouth.

Also he's officially regretting saying his first name. And wincing every time she says it..]

Your pocket watch thing's on video. [Helpfully.] And--I don't know, maybe I'm just really, really, really unlucky. I conked out in class and then I woke up on that train. [ugh is she flirting with him oh my god this is REALLY GROSS]

Yeah, that's... about what happened to me as well. I was handing my niece my old necklace and--

[You've just helped her form her lie, Stiles. Sorry about that.]

[Lies. Liar liar liar liar liar. Stiles's mouth opens and he snaps it shut, grinding his teeth to keep from saying anything about it. It's amazing how easy it is to catch someone lying when you've had a front row seat to the majority of their really, really bad life decisions. Absentmindedly he wonders what happened to that stupid necklace--Stiles is kind of hoping Allison burned it. Karmic retribution or something.]

It's like a screwed up version of sleeping beauty. [C'mon Stiles, you got this.]
