That's right! A test drive meme! This meme serves several purpsoes!

- Test drive a new muse! -- If you are considering apping a new character to Ruby City, you can comment with them here to try their voice out. Others (currently played characters and other potential characters) can respond. The same deal as usual. Post ICly. Your character can be newly arrived, or you can treat the thread as though they've been in the city for a long while. It's up to you!

- Test drive DreamWidth! -- We realize DreamWidth is new, so feel free to jump in, even with your current RC characters to start a thread and get accustomed to how DreamWidth feels to RP on. But please remember, any interaction from this meme will not count towards in-game CR. What happens in memes stays in memes.

[Still playing. This was rapidly becoming irritating.]

Then you know far more about me than I know about you. Would you care to introduce yourself?

[One thing he had noticed was that the man appeared to be wounded, but that would be of little use to him unless this confrontation turned violent. Which, Cesare thought, it might. He would not let himself be played for a fool by a henchman of whatever enemy of his father had orchestrated this charade.]

[How to introduce himself. Cesare always disliked it when he was introducing himself as well... himself, but it seemed to be the much smarter move than to introduce himself as Michelotto. Plus the guy was apparantly confused and lost, and if he wasn't assassin Michelotto, Chiaro was a pretty nice guy overall.]

I'm Chiaro. May I know your name as well?

[Cesare nodded slightly.

There was no saying if the name was false or not, but having any name at all to pin to this face was a start. You had to start somewhere analyzing his enemy. For now, though... It was time to tear a few layers off this charade.]

He straightened his spine and raised his head, intending to look every inch the powerful prince of the world he deserved to be rather than the lost creature as which the metal carriage had spat him out in this unknown place.

I'm Cardinal Cesare Borgia, signore, and I hope you are aware of the full consequences of your actions.

[Chiaro narrows his eyes once Cesare told him his name. Or the guy who thought he was Cesare. Chiaro knew Cesare already for a long time and there was no way he wouldn't recognize his friend. A part of him just wanted to draw his sword and put an end to the doppelganger, but he tried to be a bit more rational here.]

Cesare Borgia? Are you sure of that?

[Cesare paused, faltering momentarily in his indignant bravado. That was a very odd question to ask.]

I'm in full possession of my faculties, signore.

[Cesare felt some uneasiness as he realized that odd question could have been a threat. He hesitated for a moment, then decided to fake obliviousness.]

[Chiaro narrowed his eyes. What a doppelganger. He was pretty sure Cesare had never hired any of these, so did that one exist to make things even worse for him?]

Then I think you must be lying. I know Cesare very well.

[Cesare's hand twitched, suddenly wishing he still held the lance of Longinus. How dare he? How dare this man...? A shudder of sheer, barely contained rage ran through his body, his hands balled into fists at his sides. It was nothing but the lacking knowledge of his opponent's fighting prowess that held him back at this point.

He took a threatening step towards the man, crowding him.]

I find that odd, signore, for I don't know you.

[Chiaro didn't feel particularly threatened. There was almost no man he had met who managed to put up a good fight against him... well, except Cesare, but since this one must be clearly an impersonater or something of the like, either capturing him or killing him would be the only options.

Instead, Chiaro took his mask, tightening it and the air around him seemed to change into something much colder.]

Miguel da Corella? Does that ring a bell?

[Cesare clenched his jaw, teeth grinding painfully against another as he sought to hold onto his composure. He was a cardinal, he was a Borgia, he was not Juan. But it was so difficult! The man's calm confidence, such unbearable arrogance...]

I tire of playing your games! Tell me why you kidnapped me and your terms.
