That's right! A test drive meme! This meme serves several purpsoes!

- Test drive a new muse! -- If you are considering apping a new character to Ruby City, you can comment with them here to try their voice out. Others (currently played characters and other potential characters) can respond. The same deal as usual. Post ICly. Your character can be newly arrived, or you can treat the thread as though they've been in the city for a long while. It's up to you!

May 19th? Here, it is in January, though I'm uncertain of the year. I realize that is strange, but...The people here are from all different points in time, as difficult as that is to grasp. [He respectfully drapes the coat over her shoulders and steps back to give her space, but his expression is sympathetic. The time issue befuddles him as well.]

As for why..I can't say. Our captors choose to remain anonymous, and their motives unknown. There are some who know who they are and why, but refuse to give us the information.

[Ah, he was right about execution, but when she mentions the Tower of London, Henry being not only her husband, but the King...he stops. Something in his mind is hardwired to handle royalty and imperials, and he immediately stiffens, a bit flustered]

Ah. You are Queen, forgive me, Your Majesty, I did not mean to show you any disrespect. [Even a condemned Queen demanded respect, especially from a nation, though he found it odd that a royal would be sent to die by her own husband]

January? Well, that would explain the weather...

[January. When Katherine died, when she lost her boy. But, no, she did not want to think of that.]

Well, whatever the reason, I for one have a cause to be grateful that I'm here, I suppose...

[She laughs bitterly when he calls her a queen and apologizes for disrespect.] Half of Europe thinks I'm just the King's whore, and he annulled our marriage, so technically I'm not really Queen anymore. I'm just Anne Boleyn, really.

[The King's wh... That name. Austria stiffens once more; Anne Boleyn. He knew that name; he remembered it well from his youth. The King of England breaking from the Vatican in order to divorce Catherine of Aragon. He recalls how furious Spain was; the two had been married at the time. He never once thought he would meet her in person...It made him feel old, in a way, and just a touch guilty for thinking so poorly of this woman during those far flung years.]

Miss Boleyn, I will refer to you by whatever you wish me to. Here, you will find no King Henry, though I can't guarantee your stay will be as pleasant. You may call me Roderich.

[She notices the change in posture, and hides the rueful smile. She'd expected that reaction, really.]

Well, Roderich, just call me Anne, it's simpler. And I'm sure anything is better than being hours from the scaffold.

[Anne. Only among his own royalty had he called them by their first names; he had been one of the only ones outside of the imperial family to have such a privilege. Nodding his head politely, he gestured to the door]

Well, then, Miss Anne, royalty to not, a lady still deserves respect, and a warm place to stay. It's not much, but I live in a theatre not far from here. If you would like to follow me, I can give you something warm to drink, or something to eat, and attempt to explain this madness to you further.

[Anne smiles at him, a real smile. She's starting to relax just a little, odd as that seems considering what's happened. But, honestly, for her it's a reprieve, and if Roderich didn't know who she was... Maybe others won't?]

[Austria recalls how he had felt rather adversely to this young lady when she had been alive in his recollection, and seeing her in such a fashion and actually understanding some of her perception made him feel a bit guilty for condemning her all those years ago. He also wasn't sure how England would handle seeing her should he happen upon her. Still, he gestures politely to the exit with a cordial nod]

Miss Anne, if you would follow me. The theatre is not far from here, but I must warn you. There are many things that you will see that you will be...unaccustomed to. Here, there are many technologies and the like that you will be unfamiliar with, and I do not want to startle you.
