EVENT - SWEETHEART CENTRAL

Love is in the air, Ruby City! Well, something along those lines, anyway. Cruel though the captors can be, let it never be said they don't let their guests have a good time... After all, if nothing else, it tends to be awfully amusing.

This week, some curious occurrences will be plaguing the residents of Ruby City. Minor things, but definitely too much to be written off as mere chance. The decorations, ribbons and flower petals drifting lazily through the cool air, might be festive enough on their own. But out on the streets, the decor is accompanied by something much more entertaining; The occasional cobblestone beneath the residents' feet is bespelled, just waiting to be trodden upon so it can release a little mayhem on some unwitting victim or another. We're all familiar with the quintessential arrow of Cupid, and these stones serve much the same function. The next person their victims encounter will suddenly seem more lovely, more irresistible, more perfect than anyone they've ever known before... And the effects will only grow more intense over time.

Furthermore, over the next few days, each character and place of business will receive a bouquet (either multi- or single colour) and a box of candy, trussed up in the appropriate ribbons and bows and delivered to their doorstep. A tag accompanying the delivery reads simply, "Happy Valentine's Day."

But because nothing is ever so simple, these bouquets come in various colours... And each colour is associated with a status effect.


~ Red [Passion] - you're in love and you just can't hide it
↳ intensifies a crush/the feelings you already had for someone else (be it by natural causes or cobblestone cupids)
~ Pink [Lovey-dovey] - you just want to hug and kiss and hold hands with the person(s) you care for!
↳ romantic or platonic; there's nothing wrong with showing a little love!
~ Yellow [Life is beautiful] - you're so happy and everything all around is beautiful!
↳ spreading positive feelings (and romantic feelings!) wherever they go...whether everybody else likes it or not.
~ White [Pure white wedding] - why, you can already hear the bells at a distance...
↳ Instant thoughts of marriage and commitment are all this character can think about! What could be more perfect than a wedding, after all?
~ Blue [Heartache] - blue are the words that I say and what I think / blue are the feelings inside me
↳ this character becomes overwhelmed with heartache, so much so that they can't help but spread their loveless doom and gloom everywhere they go. Sorry, lovebirds!


Inside the boxes of candy, small candy hearts come in various colours and captions-- And each caption, of course, causes a pattern of behaviour when the treat is consumed.


~ I ♥ U - you love everything about your significant other and you can't help but shout it to the world! As often and as loudly as possible!
↳ cheesy love confessions, compliments, and gratuitous swooning ahoy
~ JUST ONE - a serenade sounds like the perfect plan right about now...
↳ characters break into song(and dance!) at a moment's notice, mostly uncontrollably
~ GET LOST - attracted? more like get away from me
↳ instant rejection; not everybody is lucky in love all the time!
~ TOO HOT - you're irresistible and you know it.
↳ delusions of grandeur (may affect those around them, depending on mun choice); nothing and nobody is gonna convince this character they're not the hottest thing on two legs.
~ SO FINE - time to get your seduction on! Rowrrrrr
↳ not applicable for minors! Need we say more?
MY HERO - today you get the feeling senpai will definitely notice you
↳ or so you hope


The effects of any of the spells can last as long as you(and your target) would like them to! Feel free, of course, to come up with candy messages of your own, and wreak whatever havoc your heart may desire!

Bro Strider will be getting red flowers so he'll be a bit wistful and longing for his it-was-totally-just-a-dude-crush-but-now-it's-not crush, Mister Jones. I don't know about candies just yet.

Severus is going get red flowers and possibly eat an I ♥ U candy, and will be falling all over himself to blunder and fawn over a yet-to-be-determined crush thanks to Cupid's arrow. I'm looking to make this as embarrassing and horrifying for him as possible. Any volunteers want to play with this crank?

Thor will be getting yellow (and possibly pink) flowers, because he needs his already touchy-feely doglike behavior to be amplified, right? He'll be all over the city, giving hugs to everyone who wants them as well as to everyone who doesn't. Anyone looking for a senpai to notice them, heads up. He's here.
