[Though Lancer only knows a few places. However, he does know about the Church. Surely Kirei would take this kid in, right?]

[Look up. Kirei and kids don't mix Church sounds warm.]

[He starts walking and beckons for the child to follow him.]

[Kerry followed obediently. Better follow someone who knew where they were going he supposed. And besides, how bad could it be? The guy was nice enough to give him his oversized jacket after all.]

...Say, kid, are you hungry?

[Maybe they should grab some food before heading to the Church.]

Oh...er...[He hadn't thought about food for a while. He probably should eat something but he wasn't sure if he could hold it down after what had happened in the last twenty-four hours. So he decided against it.] Not really.

Are you? [Maybe he could pick a little at Lancer's?]

Me? Not particularly.

[Servants didn't need food, after all.]

But you should get something warm, shouldn't you?

I...guess? [He wasn't really sure at this point but he wasn't really going to argue with the nice man. And it might help?] Where do you suggest for that, then?

[puppy_lancer]

[He scans the streets for grocery shops.]

[The good thing about Ruby City's shops is that they can barely be called shops. People can come and take whatever they want from unattended stalls that always magically re-stock.]

[He picks up an apple and throws it at the child.]

Don't they say something about growing taller after eating apples?

Aren't you gonna pay for that? [He wonders how a city can survive if people continuous thieve. But now he's got the apple, he does feel a little hungry.]

I'm not sure.

[puppy_lancer]

Don't need to. The city restocks this place. Besides, there's nobody hiring and no money anywhere, so we might as well as just take what we need.

[Not that he's particularly proud of this.]

No money?

[Okay he really was hungry so he'd worry about that later. Right now, food. And the apple tasted really good.]

[puppy_lancer]

None that's actually worth anything. If anything, we just barter for stuff.

[Well that certainly simplified things. He wouldn't go hungry while he was here.]

I guess that makes things easier?

Yeah, much simpler. Guess starving people don't constitute "entertainment."

Yeah. So what does? I mean, what do you do all day?

[puppy_lancer]

Me? I just...wander around, greet some people, fight some monsters. That sort of stuff.

M-Monsters? [Oh no. Not here too!]

They usually don't come into town. And if they do, there's guys like me.

Good. [He nibbled the core of his apple at a loss for what else to say. He certainly didn't want to have to go into why he had a fear of zombies.]

[puppy_lancer]

[Wait until the canon updates and Lancer will have a healthy dislike of zombies himself.]

[For the moment, Lancer just watches this kid eat.]

[Kerry nibbles until there is nothing left then look up at Lancer.]

Shall we continue? [Even with the large coat, he was chilly and wanted to get inside.]

Sure. I'll show you to the Church. You can probably stay there for a little.

Good. [All the panic was slowly getting to him and he stifled a yawn.]
