Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!

There are a variety of adjectives I could use, but I will settle for "interesting," as inapt a word as it is. Though troll-human interactions are a setup for nearly inexhaustible and almost tragic situational comedy and drama, years floating along in space with the same predictable handful of people does begin to bore. Luckily there are some interesting dream bubble confrontations to spice things up on rare occasion.
It seems that in spite of one phallus-littered scheduling conflict earlier this year, past you and Vantas are getting along quite well.

If I had to guess, I would say that you bonded over a mutual, faintly homoerotic and crippling lack of John in your life. [She's joking, of course. Mostly.] Also, I believe you may have found his reactions to your antics worth the lecturing.

Yeah, well, the windy love of my life's blown himself out of here, too, but I don't see myself diving into the murder-happy bosoms of any grey-skinned extra-terrestrial horntoads yet.
[After a moment, he adds:]
Jade's here, though.
Jade is? [A pause, as her expression remains mostly blank, but for faint undertones of both happiness and concern.] Not really surprising, I guess, considering the multitude of people from the many timelines of our universe that have been gathered.
How is she?

[There's the station. He swoops down to the front of it, looking around to see if she's still there. Not going to make a big deal if she's already left; he just wanted to check on her, make sure she's okay.
You know, be a better brother than he has been.]
You still at the station, by the way?

[He drops down, flapping his humongous wings once to brake before coming to a rest in front of her. He looks her over, taking note of the differences since last he saw her, pale and violet on Derse's moon. Finally, he twists one side of his mouth and lets out a breath.]
Man, I can't believe you're older than me. This bites. I was counting on you to come through for me, Rose. How could you betray your big brother like this?
[Action]
[Rose eyes him as well. She'd never before wondered if sprites aged, but now she does. Davesprite does look awfully young--though that might just be because the Dave she's been living with is older: taller, stubblier, deeper-voiced. She herself has grown, she knows; hair a little longer, face a little narrower, figure a little lankier--more like her mother's.]
Oh, please. You know that ladies mature faster, and you were hardly a single day older than me in the first place. I was always destined to be the elder twin in practice.
[She is surprised at how nice it is to see him, considering that she saw her own Dave only a few minutes ago. No, she thinks, this one's "my" Dave as well. This is the Dave that spent months in a desolate doomed timeline with her, a Dave that the meteor Dave could never quite be.
Instead of ruminating too much on thoughts of Daveception, Rose broadens her ever-present smirk and holds out a balled hand for what she deems a suitably ironic and traditional fist bunp greeting.]
[Action]
Welcome to the city, sis. Let's get you moved in.
[He gestures in the general direction from whence he came and starts to lead the way. Not without checking whether or not he's still taller, though--even if it's hard to tell, given his undulating length of ghost-tail and tendency to float.
Can sprites age? It's a great question, and one Davesprite's been avoiding asking himself for a while now. What he does know is they can heal, which is a lucky break for him. Wouldn't want to show up to his sister's welcome party down a wing or with any of the injuries he managed to accrue during his few months in Ruby City. That would just be embarrassing.
The only things that mark him as different from his original spritely condition are the lack of both sword and pendant.]
Okay, house rules: You don't touch the nest, anything that goes in the nest is forfeit unless you trade me something of equal or greater constructive value, if you don't want something to go in the nest then don't leave it where I can find it, and the apple juice is mine. Also I guess you should know movie star me and J. K. Rowling you got married last Christmas, so if you hear weird noises from their room...you know. Don't check.
[Action]
Nest? Am I going to have to stock up on Saltines?
[The bit about their alpha selves surprises her a little, though.]
Oh, my. Now isn't that shocking. Our future selves, the marrying kind? [She pauses briefly, and then continues, curious and benign of judgment:] I'm assuming they are fully aware of the ectobiology and simply find themselves unable to care, right?
[Action]
Yeah, they know, and they don't give the runtiest dingleberry of a shit. I guess they waited long enough for it. I'm not gonna be the one to molt on their honeymoon, even if the honeymoon's basically lasted the entire time I've been here.
[Action]
Believe me, I wouldn't dream of interfering. [How counterproductive would it be to fuck up your own future alternate self's happiness? Not cool.] It's just slightly jarring to be in close proximity of them. Journey to a post-scratch universe or not, I never assumed that I would have the chance to actually meet them.
[Action]
[Davesprite shrugs, dismissing the weirdness. Then again, he has a lot more experience than she does with alternate selves.]
You'll get used to the fact that grown-up you is a nice old cat lady who thinks I need a million fuzzy sweaters and once stabbed some dude in the eyes and rode his body down a waterfall. I mean, I know it's tough, but I think you can work out these massive differences.
[Action]
[Though she does remember taking down an ogre with similar tactics.]
Do you get along with your post-scratch adult incarnation?
