Maybe you've considered appping a new character but you're not sure how well they would adjust to the in-game scenario? Well, here's a chance to give it a try!
• Post with a character journal you'd like to voicetest or you've considered apping to Ruby City. Feel free to play them as newcomers or as if they've been here for a while - the setting is your own choice.
•Respond to other threads with new characters or with characters who are already in the game.
• Explore different interactions, find castmates, develop possible CR - anything you want, as long as you have fun!
Garry | Ib
[Hello Ruby City. Notice this fashionable man examining the posters in the train station's entrance? Well, he certainly doesn't look like someone who came out of a horror game, that's for sure (or so you want to believe). Yet, he seems focused on trying to learn the basics of this new place he got himself stuck in. Again. Let's all agree one can't have an easy life and simply enjoy an art gallery without being thrown into this world of paintings with life, moving statues and creepy dolls.
PSA: Don't get play with dolls. They seem fun, but don't ever trust them for the sake of your sanity.
Moving on, this young man sighs after realizing many of his questions keep unanswered. However he doesn't look disheartening yet, as he finally takes off the watch out of his pocket and tries to see how it works, smiling at the sight of understanding he finally connected to someone.]
Ah, I hope I'm not interrupting you from anything, but I would really look forward to some kind of information regarding the place I got myself in. I arrived in this train just a few minutes ago. Oh, and pardon my indelicacy. My name is Garry.
[He smiles again, bowing his head slightly. Unnecessary to say he seems to be really confused seeing how easily his face changed from a cheerful one to one filled with worry.]
I don't wish to be a burden, I just really would like some information... Mainly if there's some way back to my world.

C'est très bizarre, n'est-ce pas?
[ Chuckle. ]
How we came to this realm, even if the world we came from doesn't exist?
no subject
[Dear Lord, Zacharie! Are you ready to break another fourth wall? We both know this man has a weak heart. Okay, that's not the case, but he certainly is much more confused now.
The young adult decides to turn off the watch, seeing how there was actually a human there... Or so he thinks. His mask intrigues him and leaves him slightly alarmed, which can't be something someone as Garry can be judged for, seeing what kind of world he came out of just some hours ago.
However, not only his mask, as his turtleneck shirt with the simple heart design and the somewhat interesting yet confusing speech of the masked man in front him leaves Garry wondering what kind of situation he got himself into now. However, he decides to not let himself show doubt just yet. After all, this is the first person he gets to talk with, which actually makes him relieved.]
Forgive me, but my french is quite poor. I do know what you said, but, however, I... don't think I understand the meaning of your words.
no subject
[ Huhuhu. He chuckles once more at the confused man in front of him. ]
Are words truly just a conglomerate of letters? Of course not, they can carry millions of ages of history, behind them...
[ His mask is fixated on Garry's face. ]
To not understand them is the first step through their story, to understand what they once were, and what they intend to show you.
no subject
I truly do not wish to leave your words unappreciated. They are poetic, that as much I am aware of, and I truly want to believe one day I will understand the meaning behind these as you say. So let it be known they'll be craved in my mind.
[A small smile escapes from his lips. Even when looked at by that mask, he can't help by being amazed over this encounter. Fate sure is amusing.]
Actually, I would like to ask if you're new around here as well? It might be just me, but you seem to try to avoid the initial subject.
no subject
[ The mask's gaze is still well focused on Garry. Zacharie is just being himself, he figures, even if this new location isn't anywhere he recognizes. ]
Poetic? No, they are the opposite of that, if anything.
[ He nods. ]
There is nothing poetic about the truth. It is the one thing you can not romanticize.
psa i think i never had such an enjoyable thread, i love your zacharie
[Forget it, he knows he won't get any kind of information out of him, so might as well join this philosophic talk. However, that mask keeps fixated on Garry, starting to actually make the young man losing his cool. These are the kind of things one can't simply learn to deal with so easily, so he steps back, clearing throat before replying.]
However, it can be played with, most of the times hurting the individual or ourselves. Yet, we all know the truth is kept hidden, and becomes meaningless in the moment the man realizes he prefers to live in ignorance. He might not be able to bear reality and lose his sanity and his sight of the future.
[Is he even doing this right?]
no subject
[ Philosophical talk is Zacharie's middle name, though he does have other sides to himself. ]
Of course. Fiction is a tangent of the truth, colliding with it in one point in space and time only, and traversing it's own path throughout existence, as an existential paradigm.
[ Huhuhu. ]
Tell me, do you think we are riding along the function of reality, or travelling alongside the straight line of fiction?
no subject
Besides, how did this even start anyway? Doesn't this guy really have anyone else to talk about this to the point he's bashing everything on him? Just his luck. But again, this is not something he can really say he's not enjoying.]
While many of the things that happened to me really have seemed like fiction, I'm certain this is reality, of course. I breathe, I can feel things, have feelings, and I don't lie to myself about my own feelings. Perhaps I'm a little too honest at times. Why do you ask?
no subject
[ Huhuhuhu. ]
Avez-vous pensé peut-être nos deux réalités sont-fiction de l'autre?
[ After that, he enters a bout of silence, continuously eyeing Garry. ]
no subject
he's not equipped with google translator yetand.More 2 more minutes to think about that.
...]
Are you... suggesting we're from different universes? Isn't that something only possible in fic-- Oh.
[Just what's the point of this conversation again? Was he trying to prove something that he always thought it was reality but actually it's not?]
...How?
no subject
[ Continuous glaring. ]
Maybe I'm just a figment of your imagination, as well.
[ Huhuhuhuhu. ]
Could your imagination be a different universe? Nous n'avons aucun moyen de le savoir.
[ Oui oui. ]
no subject
[Everything that he went through in the gallery couldn't be imagination as well, could it? It felt too real to only be a dream. He sighs, feeling like he's starting to have a headache with all this talk.]
If that's the case, don't you wonder if the same could be applied to you?
no subject
[ Nod nod. ]
My existence is part of something different from yours. You belong to your own world.
[ Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu. ]
But that's quite enough of that, oui? Tell me of where you came from.
no subject
[Sorry Zacharie, but he'll just stare now. He could swear he could fry an egg on his head seeing the kind of over thinking he's doing at that moment. But he can't exactly deny the possibility of these two belonging to different worlds. It's an interesting theory and if that's the case, the male can admit he's looking forward to get to understand and talk with this individual.]
I'm glad to talk about my... world, but I'm afraid it's a little difficult to believe what I went through just some moments ago, if you ask me.
[He sighs, playing with the tips of his hair while facing down on the floor, realizing how all of this is happening so sudden.]
Our world is... normal, to its standards. A little too monotonous to my taste once in a while, but people live basically to have a wealthy life, a family and I guess some of them forget to follow their dreams because some seem really unreachable.
no subject
[ He beckons for Garry to walk with him, putting his hands on the wings of his backpack and moving toward the exit of the train station at a slow pace. ]
Nothing is truly normal if you are to look at it for a set amount of time.
[ Huhuhuhu. ]
Is your world truly that monotonous?
no subject
[Garry follows him, curious about the giant backpack he carries, however not to the point he questions its contents. Probably he was just ready to get in that place, somehow? Lucky for him since he didn't have anything personal with him.]
Maybe that's the case, but life is too short to realize it's not that normal. Usually in movies and books, creatures that live for 1000 years or immortalized humans are supposedly sick of being alive for so long, seeing how boring the world is. The world develops slowly, so it's not easy to see something extraordinaire everyday.
Therefore, one's life can be considered monotonous depending on the lifestyle they have.
[He slides his hand into the pocket of his jacket, taking out of it a handkerchief, glancing and feeling its texture for a few seconds before putting it back to its place.]
Mind if I ask you about your world as well?
no subject
[ He tilts his head a notch, looking at Garry as he walks. ]
Monotony can bear quite a few different masks, my friend. You are right when you say that life is too short, but what of existence and those who transcend it? Can one grow tired of living, but never grow tired of existing? Pensez-y.
[ Chuckle. ]
My world... Cessé d'être. That's all you need to know.
taggin' all the rpg makers
Hmm? Ah, hello Mr. Garry. My name is Hiroshi Yamane. And I'm afraid you've asked a question most people have been trying to answer for a while now.
