Hanna here, who's been ever so discreetly playing Sheriff Graham for a while now.

I'm actually bringing TWO new guys to the game, one being Merlin from the Starz TV show Camelot ([personal profile] archimagus) and the other being this drunk dude from some canon about miserable people in France.

I hope you'll like them!

I have some real life issues that I need to work through that have been draining my energy for tags and posting, and I think it's really come to the point where I need to back off from RP and actually drag my life out of this rut I'm in. I'm gonna call this one a full month, and then I'll come back and reevaluate how I'm doing and decide if I'm going to continue at this game.

Effects just Ridcully here.

Hello, folks! Ruby City is going to be seeing some minor zombie action during the next couple of weeks, but before that happens, I wanted to give people the opportunity to get involved if they so desire. There’s already been some interest shown through discussion, so even though this is a small-scale plot, we thought it would be a good idea to get organized just so everyone who wants to play is on the same page. Here’s a rough sketch of how things are going to go down.

While Ruby City has a number of characters who are either necromancers or otherwise have some affinity with the dead, each character’s power works a little differently. Anita’s particular brand of power requires regular use to keep it in check. If it’s not controlled, it tends to build up and spill over – and that means accidents. In order to keep this from happening and in lieu of having a proper cemetery to work with, she’s been discreetly raising the corpses of various monsters and promptly laying them to rest again just to keep her power in check. Unfortunately, her power is meant to be used on humans rather than other creatures, which means that keeping a proper leash on these zombies long enough to put them down is getting more and more difficult. She is going to have two incidents: one with a single zombie, and a second with three zombies, both purely accidental.

On the evening of March 29th, there will be a single rogue zombie in the park. It’s already slated to be killed by Dean Winchester and Anita Blake, but if there are any other characters in the general vicinity that night, they’re welcome to catch a glimpse. Anyone with an affinity for the dead will likely be able to sense its presence if they’re attuned to that sort of thing.

Here’s where other parties come in. On the evening of April 5th, three more rogue zombies will be set loose and will need to be put down. Zombie #1 will be at the city centre and will be tackled by Dean and Anita. Zombie #2 will be wandering around near the Cathedral, and Zombie #3 will be found near the train station. These two will need killing! Other characters are free to get involved and do whatever it takes to take them down. They’re actually very resilient, especially because they won’t be responding to the orders of the person who raised them, so working together is advised. There is strength in numbers.

All of the zombies for this plot will be the reanimated corpses of the city’s park monsters. In life, they are a combination of humanoid and lupine, feral and driven by hunger, violent without reason. That’s not going to change just because they’re zombies; if anything, it will be worse, because zombies have no inhibitors. For those who will be fighting, here’s a quick list of need-to-know info concerning zombies raised using this particular brand of necromancy.

- They are immensely strong and tenacious. They have no mental inhibitors to keep them from using their full strength, unlike humans.
- Bullets do not work. Neither does dismemberment. The only way to stop them is to either have the necromancer that raised them lay them to rest, or use fire. Incineration is the way to go.
- They both respect and fear fire. It’s just about the only thing they will find intimidating.
- If they do lose limbs or parts, those parts will remain animate and continue to come after their target.
- They do not normally eat flesh of their own accord, and are not able to turn others into zombies by biting them. If they do bite you, it will hurt, but the worst thing you have to worry about is a nasty infection.
- They move quickly, but they’re not very smart and can be disoriented.

If anyone wants to throw their hat into the ring on this one or has any questions about either the zombies or how things might play out, please feel free to comment! If we get multiple people who want to fight some dead things, I’ll edit the post so we have a good idea of who will be fighting where. I also ask that nobody blow the whistle on Anita being responsible for the zombies until after the second incident. After that, I’m more than open to a witch hunt. Thanks, guys!
