Spring is approaching fast and with it, warmer, sunnier weather as well. For some of the residents this specific time of the year may be associated with a holiday called "Easter." In the spirit of this season and such celebrations, Ruby City will be suffering some (hopefully!) pleasant changes. Early in the morning of Saturday the 30th, your characters will wake up to a pleasant atmosphere; There are birds chirping happily and melodiously outside, butterflies and other small critters, like butterflies or ladybugs, have been attracted by the many flowers adorning the streets - large, colourful arrangements can be found practically anywhere on the sidewalks, garlands are set up high between buildings and there is a pleasant, flowery scent all over.

On the city square, by the obelisk, there is a sign. It contains no words, but rather a simple drawing of an egg, with an interrogation mark - indicating an egg hunt.

There is no race, no limit, no prize for the ultimate winner, but if one is to search thoroughly, they will find eggs of all colours and patterns scattered around the most inconspicuous spots throughout the area.

Each egg contains a "prize"; an object, some candy, or a surprise of a wholly different nature. As the city's residents continue to hunt for them, the eggs' contents will gradually prove to be more and more surprising- Some may contain tiny trinkets from their home worlds, small keepsakes or souvenirs of beloved people or places, or other such memorabilia. As the hunt continues, some may even have much more... interesting treasures to reveal. Don't get greedy, though! There is such a thing as "too much"... As some of the eggs, which have been magically rigged to contain various monsters large and small, will prove.

The mini-event lasts throughout the weekend of March 30th and 31st, and upon its conclusion the city will return to its regular state. Characters are welcome to keep their gifts.

Due to the involvement of monsters in the egg hunt, this event may involve character death. Unlike with past events, however, the deaths inflicted in this plot will not reverse immediately upon the event's conclusion; Now, and in all future gameplay, there will be a mandatory ONE WEEK waiting period before character resurrection if a character in Ruby City should meet their demise. Please see this post for details on how death will work in Ruby City from 30-03-2013 onwards!

As always, any questions or comments may be directed to the "Comments" section of this post. Feel free to ask us if there's anything in particular you'd especially like your character to find. Most importantly, have fun!

Hi guys, your mod team here!

After some discussion and thought about the IC nature of some of the characters currently present in Ruby City, we have made the decision to begin allowing character death on a permanent basis. We have realised that not permitting the deaths of characters may be hampering some players in how they play ICly, as some of the residents in the city would happily commit murder without a second thought and/or for their own reasons (and some characters are careless or foolhardy enough to get themselves killed by various means). However, this will not be a free-for-all, and there will be consequences for both the victim(s) and the perpetrator.

Consequences for killing another character are the temporary or permanent (depending on player's discretion, or number of victims) loss of a memory or treasured item. There may also be the IC consequence of being imprisoned, ostracised or hunted down by other characters in the game, also depending upon player's discretion (and that of the CR of the victim/s). Please be realistic with your consequences, and most importantly, please make sure that all parties are in full agreement!

Consequences for the victim is a non-negotiable down-time of one week from the date of death (during which time backtagging is still permitted), and expected IC consequences. Unless moved from their place of death, characters who die will revive in the morgue of Ruby City's clinic.

There will be a minimum time limit of two months imposed between character deaths, and the one week down-time period cannot be used as a substitute for hiatus (please do not kill your character off just because you're going on holiday!).

You can submit your requests using the form on this page, where the above rules are also stated, preferably at least a couple of days ahead of time! If the death is something which happened as the result of a rapidly escalating situation in a thread, we can of course make allowances.

Requesting deaths will not apply to the weekend Easter event. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Roughly two weeks. I've a lot to do just in this upcoming week dealing with class, and even more with a convention two weeks away. I should be able to post for my AC when it goes up, maybe a tag or two when I take a break from studying, but nothing more.

Hiatus until the 7th, slowatus until the 15th.

Hey Ruby City! Just a heads up, Aradia will be gone from Saturday, March 30th, 2013 to around Tuesday, April 2nd, 2013 for her first big canon update.
Her canon point is this page/#7954 (warning for spoilers), a recent update set at the end of the big three year time gap.

Her communicator will probably remain in her room, but there will be no trace of her otherwise.
