RUBY CITY EVENT
The Mouse King

This month's event is brought to you by our lovely Jane Foster player!

December has been too quiet so far. Much too quiet. Recently, Ikaros has been passing the time with stories, and the most recent one he's been told has him very curious. So much so, in fact, that he'd like to see it for real.

And there's really only one way that he can do that.

On Monday, December 15th, the city residents might notice a strange over-abundance of ballet costumes and props in the stores. If that wasn't strange enough, some of their own items of clothing have also been replaced! We don't know where your other clothes and shoes went, but your posture is going to be just fabulous in those ballet slippers.

Beginning Wednesday, December 17th, a number of the buildings have turned into gingerbread, candy and toys. Yes, that's real gingerbread. This may be a mixed blessing for those with a sweet tooth and an annoyance for those without, but if it rains, it might be a good idea to vacate the premises before the building collapses on your head. Personal possessions may also be affected. We know swords aren't very useful when they're made out of plastic, but we don't know what's going on either.

It's the following day, Thursday, December 18th when the real problems begin. As if your house turning into confectionery wasn't quite enough, now there's a strange scratching sound. It's in the walls and under the floors, regardless of whether your home has been affected or not, and if you listen very hard there's something that sounds almost like whispering. These noises will, at the start, only be heard at dawn and dusk but will grow more frequent, louder, and certainly more worrisome over the few days following.

By Saturday, December 20th, the sounds are loud enough to be alarming and the loudest when you move close to the walls. The reason behind them will become very evident on Saturday morning, with the invasion of a large hoard of rats into the city. They are everywhere, and they are certainly not normal rats. Decked out in armour made out of sewing tools, leaves, twigs and perhaps items stolen from the city residents, they arrive with a vengeance and begin systematically destroying any buildings or belongings that have been turned into gingerbread.

These rats are the size of small dogs, mean, nasty, and need to be taken care of! Hopefully your wooden shields and Nerf guns will do the trick.

The afternoon will herald the arrival of the evil Mouse King, a large, seven-headed mouse who will need to be killed before the event can end. If you thought the rats were big, the Mouse King is a monster of horror-story proportions, easily over twenty feet tall. Without the Nutcracker to defeat him, it's going to fall to the people of the city to take his place.

With the death of the Mouse King, the event will come to a close. Buildings will return to normal, but much of the damage will still remain for the residents to patch up in the aftermath.

This is an interesting type of event for us, so please don't be shy about asking questions! Chances are that if you're confused over something, someone else will be too :)

Below, please address any questions to the questions thread and any plotting to kill the Mouse King to the defeat the Mouse King! thread. Otherwise, plotting is as normal.
