Finally, it seems to be getting warmer. The temperatures are regularly creeping above freezing (as far as Celsius is concerned) during the day and although it is still snowing occasionally, it is in the form of a fine powder that never sticks on the ground for very long. The chill that falls over the course of the night is resulting in early morning fog of the same strange variety that was tugging at clothes and whispering just inaudibly into people's ears some months ago.
Should the fog be gathered at the river in the brief moment that it changes at sunset, a sharp eye might see that it appears to flinch away from the bloody surface of the water.
The rise in temperature has also provoked a small surge in native wildlife, but not quite enough to keep the predators from becoming increasingly desperate. Wargs and other large carnivores from the depths of the park can be regularly seen prowling the edges of the city, but a by now ingrained wariness of the patrols of some of the residents are keeping them from venturing too far inside.

That damned glitter is still sticking around, though attempts to clear it up are now proving far more effective than they were at first. It seems to be turning up far less in places that it has no business being in and those people who were worst hit will find that they are finally able to really start shifting the stuff. Almost a whole month of prickly, shiny irritation must have been very amusing to somebody.
The ice palace in the park has now, sadly, entirely melted (though feel free to backdate any exploration of the ruins before this point!), leaving the Phantomhive Manor overlooking the park as its only current magical residence.
From the beginning of this week and over the course of the next seven days, strange misshapen snowmen start to appear around the city regardless of how much snow has fallen and how the rest of it appears to be melting. The snowmen range from weird, to cute, to just plain creepy and might even seem to move while your back is turned. Sometimes, they even appear in groups.
Intrusions into homes from dog-sized spiders seeking warmth are a recurring problem across the entire city now, and though the eight-legged creatures are never seen at street level no matter what the time of day or night, dawn occasionally brings the sight of large webs slung between homes and sparkling with dew or frost. Tsuchinoko are still finding refuge in warmer spots, though their presence is less obvious unless one is accidentally uncovered. A larger problem along the borders of the city, more so than the small packs of wargs, is the increasing wendigo numbers. If they remain unnoticed and thus unchecked, these creatures are likely to become a problem very soon.

Current and Upcoming Events
Our next Rumor War event is slated for next month, and as this month is a busy one for many of us we are keeping things simple with a Language Event. It has been an idea which has been suggested and enthusiastically encouraged several times over the past few months, and we hope that you have fun with it. The write-up and plotting post for this event will go up tomorrow (March 10th), but feel free to speculate on what it might entail until then!
Miscellaneous
Remember that the first half of the Activity Check closes on the 9th at 11:59PM CST. After this, the Warning List will go up, giving all those who are yet to check in a second chance to do so (until the 13th).
The Test Drive and CR memes are still up and active, please poke your heads into both and see if you might want to comment to anything!
FINALLY, there is to be a couple of small alterations in how we conduct activity checks at the conclusion of the one currently ongoing.
Firstly, in subsequent activity checks, we will be allowing the use of one IC inbox thread as a 'bolster thread' to be used if you find yourself falling short of activity for any reason. These are to be used in addition to supplying as much as you can to meet the requirements already in place, but if, for example, you find that your post count across two threads only adds up to twelve, you can use an inbox thread to essentially 'make up' the rest.
Secondly, we will be extending the period in which those new to the game will be exempt from the activity check to all those who applied within the checking period (ie, between the 6th and the 5th). We can only offer apologies to any current new players who feel that this may be unfair to them, but we would like to offer an amnesty to any of you who have applied since the 6th of February if you have been unable to gather enough activity so far. If this is something that you need to make use of, just let us know!
