Hello! Those of you here might know me as Rosie, mun to Dimitri, Rosalind, and Death. I'm sure the title of this post might come as a shock to some, but this is something I've been mulling over for a while now and it comes down to this:

While I love that Ruby City is growing and changing it's path in how it is run, I feel like my time here has reached it's natural end. It's been a good...god, three or four years now? While I know that I could continue here and provide you with Dimitri's snark and thing for music, Rosalind's amazing business with the Owl and Hound, and Death and all his cat loving weirdness, I no longer feel the draw to the city as I used to and I think part of it is that several of my older rp partners have either left or dropped characters that mine seemed to get along with best. It's nothing against the newcomers or anything like that, but I feel like I'm ready to move on.

That being said, I am not deleting any of their profiles here. If you wish to pick up Dimitri or Death, feel free to hit me up. I am leaving Ros out of this due to her being an OC of mine and I think that kind of speaks for itself. It's been a lovely time with you all, and I will miss you all dearly. If you need me, I am missfluffy100 on AIM, crimson_insect on Plurk, and Carthight on Skype. There are plenty more icons in my possession should you wish to take up Dimitri or Death as well.

Be kind, be gentle, have a heart full of love, and I hope this city continues to keep you all happy.

Weather

Full Weather Report | Threat Report

For the middle of the month, the weather looks set to sway between extremes of chilly air and sprinklings of snow to warm and comfortable spans of sunshine. Spring, though, would appear to have fully broken and there is very little evidence of the winter remaining, save for the occasional small chunks of ice that float through the city from further up-river. Flowers are beginning to bloom in earnest, trees are turning green and game is growing more plentiful for those who wish to hunt it.

Threat levels overall are down, but some persistent problems still remain, with the wendigo population still showing a particular interest in the city population.

City News

NPC activity has eased once more following Chassie's rather public scolding, with only Mercy Holt and Atien Moore making appearances since. Silence on behalf of the enigmatic overseers of the city has never meant anything good, but perhaps they are too busy being concerned about one another and the unenviable position that they have found themselves in as toys of the young Ikaros to think much of tormenting the city residents. The stores are continuing to stock as normal, though food items are occasionally mislabelled, as if someone isn't quite paying enough attention.

The warmer periods of weather have been to the benefit of the native fauna and flora, as more of the local wildlife can be seen on a regular basis and the warg packs and other carnivorous beasts have less need to stalk the edges of the city in search of unwary prey. Perhaps the city patrols finally had some impact, after all. The wendigos are, unfortunately, still presenting a problem (as they have no real need to eat) and their presence will not go undiminished until someone steps forwards to deal with them.

Along with the spirits living in the water - now fully visible at times at the surface of the freely flowing river - some familiar faces might be seen darting in and out of the woods at the far side of the park. The dryad community is stirring from its winter sleep to find (to their pleasure) that no one has decided that trying to build another path through the trees would be a good idea. In gratitude for this mindfulness, they may be found maintaining and even widening, in places, the track that currently offers a far more direct route to the east beach than walking around the edge of the woods. People venturing into the woods will find them friendly, approaching readily in groups of four or five and always armed. With the stirring of the dryads come the spriggans also, and the more companionable of the two will always warn travellers of their more vicious cousins.

Fairy rings are also starting to become active again, though for now they are few in number.

Further afield, thestrals in the forest to the north are beginning to foal and anyone braving the mountains may find that they run into a troll or yeti for their trouble. The kraken can once again be seen slowly waving its tentacles across the surface of the lake near sunset, and life is returning all over the strange island upon which the city is placed.

Anyone wandering the northern forest might chance to spy a single unicorn through the trees...
