Some of y'all may know that Cola and Cecil have been working on getting Ruby City's radio station set up! Well, it's up--which means it's time to put it to good use. Starting this month, I am pleased to introduce Ruby City Community Radio, a regular Ruby City feature that I hope everyone else gets as hype about as I am!

WHAT IS RUBY CITY COMMUNITY RADIO?

Ruby City Community Radio is a new feature of Ruby City, starting this month and continuing on as long as people have an interest in it! If you're familiar with Welcome to Night Vale and are assuming there will be some similarities between Night Vale Community Radio and RCCR, you're honestly right. Cecil Palmer is a creature of habit, and while the radio station will absolutely be open for other characters' use (just ask Cola!), he knows what he's good at. The main difference between NVPR and RCCR is that RCCR will be significantly shorter than episodes of Night Vale tend to run, so that people who want to play with this concept don't have to deal with quite as large of a wall of text.

In brief sum, RCCR will function as a community bulletin for the city and its citizens. It will be transmitted via the watches rather than via Actual Radio Signals, due to magic, probably, and also for ease of inclusion in standard RP. The "show" itself will be posted on the rubycity_rp community and will run without interruption, but will then be open for comment in any of the standard formats (text, voice, video). Cecil will reply exclusively via voice, because that's his thing. Otherwise, though, these posts will be open for whatever use the playerbase would prefer!

HOW OFTEN WILL THE SHOW RUN?

As fun as it would be to have a RCCR post up every week, it would be pretty overwhelming on an OOC level, both for me and for other players in the game! There is also the potential for flooding the community, which I definitely don't want to do. As such, there will be an RCCR post up roughly once a month, usually towards the end of the activity period--that is, somewhere in the last week of the month. Please note that on an IC level, Cecil can be assumed to host RCCR once a week, which is a fairly typical Public Radio Schedule, but only the last show of the month will actually be written up.

WHAT WILL THE SHOW CONSIST OF?

RCCR will not be a typical radio program, because Cecil is not a typical public radio professional. While RCCR will ostensibly be meant to function as a community bulletin, a sizeable portion of it will end up being Cecil's Opinion Zone or, sometimes, Cecil's Personal Life Story With Up-To-The-Minute Updates. Most importantly, RCCR will work best with a lot of community involvement, both IC and OOC!

I am always looking to add new segments and incorporate new characters in the show, so feel free to drop me a line at any time. To start with, though, here is a shortlist of segments that I'd like to include in the show. Not every segment will be included in every show, but some, like current events, community news, and the weather, will hopefully be constant. Please note that in the following list, segments marked with ∞ will need or benefit from guest character participation!

As I said, this is just a shortlist! I am always looking for new ideas.

HOW CAN MY CHARACTER CONTRIBUTE?

Honestly, a whole bunch of ways! There's lots of room to include a number of characters in each show, so the more the merrier! Here are just a few ideas, but feel free to suggest anything that comes to mind.

➥ volunteer your character for an on-air interview--or, if your character owns a business, for a business spotlight
➥ send in an advice question
➥ if your character is musically inclined, have them play the weather! There is one open weather slot per show, which means there are plenty of opportunities.

Yes hello it is Kitten, the elusive mod more rare to see at times than a gd Chansey in the wild. I'm trying to work out my rp troubles in this game by hiatusing poor America and undergoing a canon review. Should that prove to revive him, I'll bring him back at the end of the month!! Should it not, I may have to rip off that bandaid. :c

If you thought you liked Sans (did anyone really lmao), you're going to hate LOVE Mettaton. He's the exact opposite of my last Undertoot, actually! He's loud, showy, and runs on internal rechargable battery, so he's going to have to find a way to recharge himself quick! In fact, that's going to comprise the majority of his intro, because I always love a challenge. ;) Let's see if I can get him to run on springtop lantern batteries for a week.
