G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

• Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.


2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?


3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!


4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.


2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.


3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?


4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

[The first few words Arturia mouths have no sound; her fingers move uselessly, tugging at the hem of the vest of her suit.]

Merlin?

[Her trusted advisor-- perhaps not as she knew him, but still the same. So long after she'd lost him, even in the city, she'd never expected to see him or any like him again.]

But how can it be? [Her voice is quieter than she intends, as if in disbelief. In any form he knows her, young as Wart or old as King, and in any form he is familiar to her. She'd never thought such a thing could be true.]

[ despite himself, her shock earns a small quirk of his mouth, too tired and still-nauseous to be quite a smile, but edging toward it. it helps to have her presence here, familiar and beloved, to steady him. it's a testament to how much he does love arthur that he was willing to accompany him to the seat of his power, surrounded by people on all sides as it was. there's a reason that merlin prefers the wilds.

he gathers her hands between his own, pressing the fingers with affection. ] A miracle of your Christian god, I suppose. [ he hums out a breath of laughter. ] My own are not often so gentle.

[Arturia doesn't expect the bit of a laugh that escapes from her mouth-- but she supposes she shouldn't be surprised. It is Merlin, after all-- and as much as she may have hated how much of a troublemaker her Merlin could be, he'd always understood her best. She'd always trusted him.]

I suppose it may be so. However--

[She's noticed already.]

You don't look well. Allow my aid, Merlin.

[ he lifts her hands to press a familial kiss to the backs of her fingers, then releases them, expression taking on a wry note. ] I certainly would not refuse a quiet place to sit for a few minutes. This is-- [ he makes a vague gesture with one hand to indicate the entire city. ] This all rather took me by surprise. I haven't had time to entirely prepare myself for all of it.

[ he's not sure how her merlin's powers work, of course, but his turn all the world's energies into light and colour and noise and sensation for him. each person is a different combination. each plant and animal and other-creature creates their own presence in the world for him, though humans are always the most intense. it's-- often exhausting. ]

How did we come to be here?

[Her fingers flex gently as she brings one hand down to her side before offering the other to him as to guide him.]

I can imagine it must be quite a bit to take in. There are benches not too far from here. As for how we came to be here, it is by the magic of a near-omnipotent set of sources. Sources of which I have an unfortunate lack of information, however.
