RC Test Drive!

I don't really have a fitting picture for this.

G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.

Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:

  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!

  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.

  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.

  • Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.

Locations:

  1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

  2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

  3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

  4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

  5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

  6. The Coffee Joint: Run by Lukas, a lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

  7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

Scenarios

  1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

  2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

  3. Inclement weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

  4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

Have fun, guys!

[Cosette's expression went blank, her eyes cast downward as she walked over to the edges of the pew, grasping the wooden back. Slowly she sat, her eyes still distant as they welled with tears. Eponine, dead now from her own selfishness. Little Gavroche, who she could barely remember they were so young, now dead as well. And Marius... She bent forward, her hands clasped as if in prayer while tears rolled softly down her cheeks.]

Eponine, I cannot convey how sorry I am that you died for such a...a naive gesture on my part. I do not know how I could ever hope to ask your forgiveness. [She heaved a sigh, the tears continuing to fall.]
jondrette: (skeptic)

Because the sad parts rip out your soul. also sorry for her crazy

[Eponine keeps the smile from playing on her lips as she watches Cosette cry. They'd been in this position before, now, and it was far more familiar to her. Within that, was a safety. Comfort.

Truthfully, it was Eponine's own selfishness that had brought on her death. Gavroche's death, from what she had heard, had been his selflessness. And Marius... No one from the barricade knew.

Slowly, she moved over to Cosette, taking a seat next to her, a hand resting gingerly on her back.]
Hush, Cosette. I did all I could to keep him alive for you. The bullet I took was meant for him. I died so that he may go and find you. [The lies are easy, and if it causes Cosette guilt... Good. Eponine has no problems with such a thing.

But as for forgiveness... Well, they'd cross that bridge later. If Cosette had never arrived in Paris, perhaps none of this would have happened. She had a lot to make up for. As did Eponine, but who was counting?]
littlelark: (Shocked)

hush the crazy is the best part

[Cosette turned toward Eponine's touch, sniffling as she unsuccessfully tried to stop her tears.] Oh god, Eponine, but how will I ever repay you for your sacrifice? I don't even know where to begin...

[What's worse, Eponine's sacrifice, for all they both knew, was completely in vain. Whether this was truly Purgatory or not, Marius was apparently nowhere to be found. Cosette's body lurched as a new wave of tears overcame her.]
jondrette: (I can't believe this)

Truth!

[personal profile] jondrette 2013-07-21 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Hush, Cosette. Now is not the time for that. Grieve. There's been so much loss in your young life. [but I've had more she added silently.] We will talk of sacrifice later. [She'd repay her a thousand times over. Cosetted Cosette who had taken everything from her. Her family blamed the lark for their losses, and Eponine was no exception.]

Shhhh.... [She took Cosette into her arms, gently stroking her hair the way she wished so often others had done for her.] Mourn for him. For me. He loved you. I know this better than anyone else. [Bitterness crept into her tone but she covered it as best she could.] Just cry. [Absentmindedly, she began humming.]

[Prompted by Eponine's comforting words, Cosette broke out into full blown tears, burying her face into her shoulder.]

What can I do...? What am I going to do... [Marius was dead, Papa was nowhere to be found. She was alone, and all she had now was Eponine. Eponine, who had no reason to care for her after her untimely death, who was now comforting her. She only clung more tightly.]

[Eponine fell silent, save for the hums as she let Cosette cry. How the tables had truly turned again. Everything back as it should have been. Why would she wish to change it? She feigned thinking, stroking the girl's back and holding her to her modest bosom.]

There are places here. There's no need for money, clothing is easy to come by. It will not be so hard. I am used to such a life, but as are the men I stay with. If they make do I'm sure you can as well. You've survived great hardship before.

[She fingered a lock of Cosette's hair and idly wondered what the girl would look like without it.]
