G'day, Ruby City! It's time for a meme for both testdrivers and denizens.
Been itching to test out some CR but haven't had the posts to do it? Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Yes, I suppose they would be. Considering how old you are.

[ She stares back at him, and slaps a hand to her forehead for a moment. ] This stupid-- okay, listen up. I'm going to tell you this once, and only once. Apparently people come here from different eras and different worlds. I do know you... except I knew you in 1944.

[ Now, she's tapping a foot against the floor, eyeing that book of his. ]

We destroyed you. Just like I'm going to do here, you're lucky you're in a library filled with humans...

[And you're getting your filthy humanity all over YOUR book.]

[He ignores the crack about his age, because seriously, he is pretty ancient.]

Time distortion? Interesting.

[That last remark gets a hearty laugh out of him, however.]

I'm guessing that from the date you claim, nobody has had much luck in truly destroying me.

[ Humanity isn't filthy you dumb heretic!

She frowns, because apparently he doesn't seem to be taking this seriously. She can't really even try to be all that threatening because... he's... not being threatening right now, either. ]

Until we came along. We destroyed you.

[ Except they didn't. But she doesn't want him to know that. ]

[He finds it ironic that there's a witch calling him a heretic.]

[Oh, he's taking things seriously. ...Just not you.]

That is what every Belmont that has crossed my path has thought, and yet here I am.

[And another slow page turn.]

Yes, here you are, sitting with the rest of the mortals in a library. You look ridiculous.

[ Well, he does. He certainly doesn't look the part of intimidating war-lord-vampire-king in this setting. ]

But this city doesn't need a Belmont. They have me. Furthermore, we DID destroy you. You haven't come back at all.

[ ...Except there IS that prophecy.... ]

If you are going to complain about my choice to research this place rather than simply turning it into a bloodbath, I could redress that issue. I am getting a bit peckish after all.

[He arches an eyebrow.]

And just what do I have to fear from you?

Speaking of which, how do I know that's not what you're planning to do anyways? To this whole city, at that? Also, I'm going to assume that stupid castle of yours is still at home, right?

[ Hey, Dracula. Don't mind her. She's going to take a seat right across from you. ]

You have everything to fear from me, simply because I know all of your strengths and weaknesses, and if you even attempt to feed off of one human in this city, I'll make sure to send you right back to your grave.

Make no mistake, this place will see itself cleansed as well, in time.

[He flips the ribbon at the spine of the book over to act as a bookmark before slipping it into the sleeve of his robe. He leans forward, folding his hands on the table.]

If that is the case, perhaps I should start my feast with you. Where my castle is, is of no concern of yours at the moment. All you need concern yourself with is that you have a very annoyed Vampire Lord sitting across a table from you.

[ Charlotte merely watches him, folding her left leg over her right and folding her arms across her chest, her Book of Binding lying in her lap. ]

You wouldn't dare, because I happen to know that right now? You don't have your castle. You can be annoyed all you want, but it's not going to help you get it back... so tell me, where do you plan on living? In an apartment? Imagine that, the self proclaimed king of vampires, living in some dingy little one bedroom apartment.

[ She smiles, it's confident and smug. ]

Remember my name, Dracula. I'm Charlotte Aulin, employed by the Church to remove things like you from the planet. I am descended from the Belnades family... so really, I welcome you to try and trifle with me.

[He leans back in his chair, crossing his own legs.]

You assume that I am powerless without my castle, yet I gave my castle the power it now has. Before I came to rule it, it was simply a building. I am far more than a match for a simple brat with delusions of grandieur.

[Still, that name pings his interest. So... Sypha's descendants were now in the employ of the Church? Ironic.]

Though I was unaware that the Church's stance on witchcraft had changed so drastically.

No, not completely powerless. So does that mean you'll be enchanting an entire apartment building? [ Because that... is hilarious. She has to fight the laugh that's threatening to bubble up, because now is not the time nor the place... and does he even know what an apartment is? ]

A lot has changed in the future. For the better, might I add... witches aren't burned at the stake anymore and are far more accepted. Granted, we generally try to keep out of the public eye... because you see, witches and vampires are nothing more than a myth now. To the general public, at least.

No, I have no intent of doing something so counterproductive as that.

[The crypts, however... they show promise.]

[He silently wishes then that Lisa had been born much later. She would have been much better off, and would not have been killed simply for associating with him. Of course, that only serves to fuel his hatred further. Almost as if humanity itself was mocking him now.]

Well, I will have to see to it that your future never comes to be, won't I? I will have to make the entire world know that I am to be feared.

[ Charlotte huffs at that last statement, before her grin widens. She's hung out with Jonathan for far, FAR too long. ]

You can try. You've already failed once, maybe you'll have better luck here. Probably not, though... you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

[ Besides, if he's trying to end her, that means he'll maybe leave the other humans alone. Maybe. This can be a good thing... for everyone else. ]

[He's just going to vanish from his seat, taking advantage of the somewhat dim lighting, before reappearing behind Charlotte and just placing a hand on her shoulder.]

You'd be surprised at the tricks I've learned.

[ That will never stop being creepy. Ever. She manages to suppress a shudder, but it doesn't stop her from tensing up as she quickly looks up. She doesn't move, though, despite the fact she wants to do nothing but grab him and beat him into submission with her book and a barrage of spells. ]

That one is nothing new, I'll have you know. You've always been able to do that.

[He shifts his hand slightly, moving his fingertip to find her pulse. Ah that juicy vein. How tempting. But it wouldn't do to attempt to attack just yet. There were protocols to follow, that sort of thing.]

Oh, trust me. You have seen but a fraction of my true power.

[ It's really, really unfortunate she can't just grab his hand and break every one of his fingers right now. Her fingers tighten around her book, but again she makes no move to attack. He's just doing this to try to intimidate, and she's not going to let it work. ]

Oh, I can't really argue with you on that one. But I'm confident in my own abilities to keep this city and it's people safe from the likes of you.
