[ Being whooshed to a magical city all of a sudden and being expected to be a-ok with it is a bit of a weird notion, or so Apollo from some months ago would believe. Thing is, he's found himself to be a tad more tolerant of shenanigans ever since his employment at the Wright Anything Agency™, and as such, he's actually taking it sort of well.

Sitting around at the café, with a tiny notebook he browsed and occasionally scribbled observations on, he couldn't help but notice how far he had written into it. It felt odd, but also a tad reassuring. Both the new experiences with people he's known, and people he would never have had the chance to meet were enough for his experience in the city so far to be a remarkable one.

That, and the fact he's somehow come across hair gel. If such a condition weren't met, he'd be counting the seconds until he got whisked back to Earth. ]

[Yeah, and I'm not even going to ask where he found it.]

Hey. Been settling in all right?

[ Hair gel is a way of life, and as such, there can only be so long a man can handle without it. ]

[ Regardless of hair gel related monologue, Apollo takes note of Phoenix's presence, and turns to him, gently closing the tiny pad. He nods twice, with a hint of a faint smile at the corner of his lips. ]

Well, I've had better moves, but considering how outlandish all this is, it's gone surprisingly smoothly.

[ Really, though, I could've done with some days of warning in advance.]

Yeah, it's a good thing you showed up during a slow period around here. Probably gives you more time to adjust to, uh, everything.

[Personally I'm having a harder time getting used to seeing you in an actual suit rather than a hoodie. ]

I'd ask what you mean by slow period, but for some reason I'm not sure I want to know the answer.

[ Given the descriptions of some of the "fun" "shenanigans" that occur in the city from time to time, he really, really doesn't. ]

I'm glad. She's always brilliant at making other people feel better, so it's great to know she's doing well herself.

[ After all, despite being somewhat mischievous, her hard work is what managed to keep the Wright Anything Agency on its feet. That's rather impressive, for a teenager. ]

Yeah, she's really something. If I'm going to be getting a daughter within a few months of getting back, I couldn't ask for a better one.

...I've been meaning to ask, though. Trucy isn't exactly an unbiased source, so... what sort of guy AM I at that point in the future?

Seriously, though, I had my doubts at first. What with the disbarring scandal and whatnot, I can't say I didn't feel conflicted...

With that out of the way, though, they were quickly cleared. It was a bit weird to make something out of the situation, but over the time I came to learn how much of an admirable person you were.

[ He doesn't say this sort of stuff out of the blue, so. ]

Not only are you a great caretaker to Trucy, you are also a very resourceful person. Had it not been for your work over the time, a lot of mysteries would have gone unsolved, such as Trucy being my half-sister.

[Well, Apollo, it's a good thing you're so used to shenanigans, because the queen of shenanigans is going to meet you today.

The Café isn't her favourite of the eateries about, but they do have some awesome sweets, and that's exactly what she's here for. She does notice, however, that there's someone she hasn't had the chance to meet yet! And with a suit like that-- well, he sure does look like the people she's used to hanging out with.]

[ Woah! Apollo just leans back a bit at the sudden approach, but after a couple of seconds of just staring at Maya's face, he can't help but shake off the feeling of Dejávu. ]

[ Wait. That getup. The bead necklace, the odd vestments... ]

[This is going to be so awkward if I'm off by a mile. Even if she fits Mr. Wright's description to a T.]

Oh, yeah, I keep forgetting that.

[Just what sort of place did I end up getting myself into?]

That's nice of Trucy, though. She can be a handful at times, but it wouldn't be the same without her around.

[ Guess who just so happens to be sliiiiding right into the seat across from yours, Apollo? Really, if he thinks he's going to get any real 'work' done, or if he even thinks this is going to end up being some sort of relaxing outing for himself, he should probably prepare for the inevitable chaos that only Trucy can bring.

Not that she's gone out of her way to cause trouble or anything since he's arrived, mind you. She's even tried to give him his space, despite wanting to be glued to his side constantly to chatter about all of the things that have happened in the city since she arrived.

The good things, anyways.

She's not from his time, that much she's already been made aware of. It's been hard not to poke and prod at him for info, too -- but she's been in that boat, and she's definitely not going to put him in the position a certain Klavier Gavin put her in by asking about the ~future~.

She beams at him from her seat and leans back, drumming gloved fingers across the table as she finally greets him. ]

Hey, Polly! So, what do you think of the city so far? Has everyone been treating you well? Most of the people here are pretty nice... at least, they sure seem to be.

[ Well, he's more than used to not having anything possibly related to a moment's rest when Trucy is around. Not that he'd have it any other way, mind you. He's gotten too used to having her badgering him 24/7 that he just can't imagine life any other way. The tips of his lips curve slightly as soon as Trucy slides in, closing his book slowly as his shifts his attention away from it and toward her. ]

[It's good to know that at least some things never change.]

Well, even with the spontaneous arrival, it hasn't been too crazy to handle.

[Though I'm sure that's mostly because of the time I've spent at the Anything Agency.]

You look like you've settled in nicely yourself. Care to share your findings with a newcomer?

[ She really is glad to see him. It's not that she wants him to suffer along with the rest of them when bad stuff happens, but it's good to have someone she's familiar with here. ]

...Stay away from the vampires. Except Maurice, he's a vampire and he's pretty nice. Same with Seras... the rest of them I'd avoid. There's monsters too, but I still haven't gotten around to going to see them myself.

[ She hums thoughtfully and then smiles again. ]

Also, if you haven't noticed, everything is free, which is pretty neat! And the best part... no school!

[I've absolutely no idea why I expected anything else.]

Right, so I've heard from Maya. [ Sigh. ]

I've also been told there's country people and people that can fly. [Thanks for that one, Mr. Wright.]

Just how is any semblance of order maintained around these parts?

Oh, yeah. It's true! There are lots of people here who can do tons of cool stuff!

Well, we all do... sort of. There's no real police here, and considering there was a war not too long ago, our kidnappers don't seem to care about order at all.

A war. [Right. Something tells me I'd have a better chance of survival in the death row.]

So, besides "Try not to get brutally murdered", how do you spend the days around here?

[Maybe if I change the subject, potentially not-deadly things will come to light. ]

[ It's hard not to flinch at that 'brutally murdered' comment. She's not even sure she didn't flinch, but she puts on a smile again regardless. ]

Well, I've started the agency again... I haven't had time to do much with it, though, with everything that's happened. Honestly, without school or work, though? It can get boring around here when it's quiet like this. But now that you're here, I'll bet we can find lots of stuff to do!

[ Read: She'll be dragging you out on ridiculous adventures. At least things are free here, and your wallet won't get emptied when she decides that she -needs- something? ]
