4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.


5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.


6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.


7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

[Well, that figures. Kanji and devices, man. What Kanji did next though freaks him out.]

Hey - what do you think you're doing?! I hope you've got some kind of patch!

A dull, uneventful life filled with nothing but reading and pursuing knowledge.

[She kicks off the wall, coming to her feet and walking over to him. Hands tug at the bottom of her dress, pulling the fabric tighter as her hips rock back and forth in stride.]

There are those who choose the sea, and then there are those chosen by the sea. It's a call that is difficult to ignore, I will attest.

If you do need help settling in, please, don't hesitate to ask. I'm not much for a tour guide but it is nice to have a helping hand when getting accustomed. Or two.. or twenty.

"Something's pulling people out of their timestreams via that train," [Jack nods towards the train tracks.] "It's not completely absurd, so now we just need to find out if it's happening intentionally, or if it's some benign random effect like the rift."

[Now there's a thought.] "Uh. You aren't picking up any rift radiation, are you?"

[He watches the other closely, every twitch in his face, every movement of his hands and feet.]

Yes. I suppose it could be worse. Look! I wear a bow tie now. Bow ties are cool.


[He is all smiles and cheer, pulling out his own screwdriver, waving it before he flips it open with a twitch of his hand, his eyes telling the other Doctor to be impressed already.

Noticing the sadness in the other's voice, he decides to ignore it for as long as he can.]

[He feels his smile soften. Despite the situation and the ache in his pan, it is finally really penetrating his mind that she is here, that he won't have to miss her any longer. When he feels her tongue brush his cheek, he reaches up to pap her face gently before brushing her long hair back behind one ear.]

Shoosh, Di. I'm fine. I've handled worse.

[She just gives him a look as he runs the sonic over her. Just a questioning look really. Oh, but that raises some questions. She has his screwdriver in her pocket still...]

Did I miss something?

[She's not passing up a chance to hug him though, wrapping her arms tightly around him.]

[She pouts, which is generally a sign that she's over the worst of her shock, and rests her chin on his chest, giving him a pathetic look. Everyone else at the station is giving them a wide berth after Di's little display, and so she doesn't mind taking a moment to focus just on him.]

I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find you. I didn't know how I'd get back home!

[As soon as Noel stepped off the train, he immediately began calling for his friends.]

Serah! Mog! You guys okay?

[This was so strange! They went through the gate together, didn't they? They were suppose to land in Academia, just when Cocoon falls and the new Cocoon rose. Did Serah and Mog get lost in the Void Beyond? But that couldn't be right, the gates were closing and nothing seemed to be wrong with the Historia Crux as they traveled through it.]

This isn't Academia... just where did I end up?

[ oh, he knows how this goes. Can't leave til the problem's solved, for one reason or another. Just a matter of finding the right problem.]

[Well, a little, but nothing major enough. He's still, despite his attitude, a troll, and he can handle some pain.

His fingers run slowly through her hair, taking a moment to simply enjoy the sensation. There is so much he should be telling her, about this city, about Rosa being here, about all that he has come to discover, but it is pushed aside for a few moments in favour of enjoying her presence after such a lack of it.]

Don't be silly, love. If there is someone who will always be able to find me, it is you. I've missed you though, so much.

[It's quite a selection they have here; almost anything one might ask for, this library seemed able to provide. Everything, that is, except what Naoto was looking for. Nothing here told her anything about where she was, why she was here, or how she could get out. Perhaps it was wishful thinking that the solution be that obvious, but if it's to be found at all, all avenues need to be explored.

As her focus is occupied on browsing the shelves, however, she fails to notice whoever it is behind her before backing directly into them. The androgynous young detective turns on her heels to face this person and bow apologetically.]

Ah, forgive me, please. I hadn't realized anyone else was here.

{He won't encounter Serah or Mog, but there is a familiar face on the platform. Lightning glances his way when he shouts those names.}

Are you calling for Serah Farron?

Are you okay with Jack flirting or not? Either is cool.

[Jack is scrambling to try to find the familiar, anything he might recognize in this new place. He's thinking along the same terms as the Doctor, only he's looking for local history, some point of reference with the timeline, so he can figure out what he might know about this place.]

[Surprising that the familiar thing doesn't come from inside any book.]

"Blue police box? That can't be a...coincidence."

[Jack looks very carefully at this new man. Is that? He could be wrong. He's racking his brain for the pictures of the other Doctors. The ones from those UNIT files that he was totally allowed to be able to get access to (copying isn't stealing!) They were the ones Jack had to avoid for a hundred and fifty years. Surely he'd remember a face as cute as that one, though.]

"Uh, Captain Jack Harkness. And I haven't seen one, but you're looking for it?"

[ In many ways, the library was large. It had tall shelves and taller ceilings, rows upon rows of books in various shapes and lengths; the entire thing was something of a spectacle, really- a bit unreal for some. Unfortunately, the library was not overly large in some important aspects; after all, when you're 6'9" and have shoulders broader than most, it can be- difficult to maneuver in those tight spaces between rows.

You'll hear some light grunting and some angry mutters as Noa attempts to get to a book on the bottom row, slightly muffled by the bandana covering the lower half of his face. Bending over was impossible for him at this angle (he'd knock over the shelves or something), so he's kind of awkwardly tilting to try and grasp at the book with his singular hand. Behind him, his tail swishes, unamused with all of this.

All he wanted to do was read The Tempest. That's all he wanted. Too bad this library wasn't built for werecats, jeez. ]

*Parasoul has been browsing the shelves with the same goal in mind as Naoto--learning more about this city she's found herself in. And just like Naoto, she's been having noooo luck whatsoever.*

*Lost in thought examining the shelves, she's not paying much attention either, until Naoto bumps into her.*

Ah--not at all. I was being inattentive myself.

Vergil | Devil May Cry

A, Clocktower
[Vergil leans against the wall, first spending several hours looking out at the city. He needs to take in the layout, and simply watch the people, before walking among them. It also seemed the best place to be alone, even the library wasn't quiet enough and there had been a surprising number of people in it. Who else would climb to the top of a tower that serves no real purpose other than its clock.]

B, streets
[Who gives no shits that the rain is practically a monsoon, it's this guy. It's the ideal time for him to come down and venture out, when anyone else should be inside and therefore out of his way. He heads in the direction of the mountains.]

C, Cafe Anglais
[For whatever reason he didn't actually make it very far and has ended up soaked and sitting in the cafe. Likely with a distinct aura of being pissed off, feel very sorry for the waitress. He continuously pushes his hair back, only for it to fall in front of his eyes again, as he hunches over his coffee.]

*So after a while, Parasoul just gives up on the stupid library. It's been of absolutely no help, so she might as well turn her attentions elsewhere . . . say towards getting the lay of the land and trying to size up the locals.*

*That, and a little caffeine would be nice. So, destination: coffee shop!*

*It turns out to be rather crowded, but that suits her purposes just fine. She gets her order and zeroes in on an empty seat at a table occupied by a young woman with horns.*

[See, now this was the face that she recognized the most as her father. She brightly grins as she sees him at the station, and lets him finish talking to the watch before responding.]

You're in Ruby City, and I have to say, it's quite the surprise to see your face around here!

[She leaned up against a sign, her arms cross as she waited for his reaction to her.]

[Out as usual, and just like her father, she made a habit of making runs by the train station to see if there might be anyone new there. This time, it seemed there actually was, and she put on one of her bright smiles as she approached.]

[nope. No clue who you are. But he's getting the feeling this'll be an excellent day for that. He's off to such a good start.]

[Definitely familiar. He turned to the woman, immediately walking to her.]

Lightning! You're here too? Yeah, I'm lookin' for Serah. We were in the gate but somehow she didn't arrive with me. This place doesn't look like Gran Pulse though...

Did we land somewhere else in time?

[Because Lightning always seemed to have the answers, right?]
