DEC. TEST DRIVE

G'day, Ruby City!
Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?
Have no fear, a meme for you is here.
Directions:
- Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
- Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
- If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
- Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.
Locations:
- Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.
- Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?
- The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!
- The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.
- The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.
- The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.
- Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.
Scenarios
- Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.
- Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.
- Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?
- Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!
Have fun, guys!
Ruler (Jeanne d'Arc) - Fate/Apocrypha
[Ruler mutters and rubs at her eyes when she hears the train's whistle.]
Sir, are we at Trifas now?
[Her mind fogged by sleep, Ruler doesn't notice the difference in her surroundings until she steps off the vehicle. Only then does a feeling of unease arise in her stomach. She snaps out of her haze just to see the train drive off.]
No!
[She's not familiar with this style of train, but her instincts tell her that letting it drive away would seriously hamper her mission. She leaps after it...and ends up faceplanting onto the tracks instead.]
Ow...
[She mutters and rubs at her face, then climbs back up the platform. She still has the tiniest sliver of hope that this unfamiliar city might be Trifas, but seeing as how she could not feel the Grail and her transport vehicle had changed, it wasn't likely.]
2. The Library
[In her first life, Ruler had been illiterate. Now, sharing Laeticia's body and memories, she shares the other girl's skills as well, including her reading ability.]
[She's currently sitting at a table flipping though a picture book, as it's one of the few books whose content doesn't make her head spin. (Really, modern day students were expected to learn all that?)]
Dear God how did I not see this- I pick 2
And lo and behold, one is sitting there at a table, reading quietly, all by her lonesome.]
...
[She looks and feels so familiar...but can it be? He's stunned, he can't help but keep staring.]
it's okay! (and I might not app her for a while since I'm already playing someone else in the cast)
[After she's done with the book, she gets up to take another one. That's when she sees the man staring at her.]
...May I help you, sir?
Is cool :3 Francis is just - well, you know. It's Jeanne.
...Jeanne...?
YEP
[Though she had been told that there is no Holy Grail or Grail War here and this man does not feel like a Servant, being recognized by her true name still makes her feel tense.]
no subject
Y-you are Jeanne D'Arc - how can I not know you? Mon ange, ma fille... I am France. Je suis Francais!
[He reaches out, just wanting to place his hands on her shoulders - to know she is real and not some ethereal vision his mind has made up.]
no subject
A-are you joking, sir?
[France was a country. This is one man.]
How can you be France?
no subject
I - where I am from, we exist, one for each country. Ze physical embodiment of our nations. Please, how else could I know it is you?
no subject
[Yet...countries existing as flesh and blood people. It pushes at the edges of even her belief. She stares at him, trying to make sense of it all.]
[The concept of France, embodied by a being...]
[If she thinks of it like that, it's a little easier for her to understand. It would make him a little bit like a Heroic Spirit.]
I...see.
How are you doing now...France?
no subject
Ah, much better~ Especially to see you again, ange.
no subject
[She hesitates. He is supposed to be her homeland, but she is meeting his personification for the first time.]
...Again.

no subject
[Even if it is still almost surreal, she has started feeling happy at not only meeting another French person, but the very embodiment of the homeland she left behind. Though she had found Laeticia in France, she had not stayed long to enjoy the country before heading to Trifas. And while Laeticia's memories provide her with a quick summary of French history, it is still a vague outline, not something she has seen or experienced.]
[On that last matter, she might have many questions for France...]
no subject
[He's very confused. She is Jeanne...oh! Perhaps she was brought to the city from an early part of her life!
But that didn't seem right. As a matter of fact, the more he looked at her, the less familiar her face seemed to be. Could she have been reincarnated?]
Well...
[He smiles, deciding to drop the matter for now.]
Well, I am glad, then.
no subject
So...
[She hesitates, not knowing what sort of honorifics she should give to her country.]
Monsieur France. How long have you been in this place?

2...
At the sight of the young woman with her picture book, he pauses and smiles at her pleasantly. He sets his own pile of volumes down on the far side of the table.]
So, I'm not the only student here today. There's yet another dedicated scholar. Good afternoon, signorina.
Re: 2...
[She looks up from the book and smiles at the robed man.]
Good after noon and thank you for the compliment, sir. But I wouldn't exactly call myself a scholar.
[Laetitia was a student, certainly, but neither of them were scholars as Ruler would understand it.]
This is just something I'm looking through to pass the time.
[A hint of a blush spreads over her face as she admits that.]
no subject
[His own smile remains constant. He's a friendly person.]
But perhaps I was a little glib. I am a scholar myself, but it is not the life for everyone. Reading is a good way to pass the time, when books are so numerous and plentiful. [It's not as much of a casual pastime pre-European printing presses.] And I hope it brings you pleasure?
[He gives her a polite little bow.]
Piero Orlandi.
[He has no reason to believe anyone would know who he is, but it's possible. His order of magi is quite secretive--but he's the resident showboater. It never hurts to be cautious, considering who and what he is.]
no subject
[She had never learned to read much during her lifetime. However, with Laeticia's knowledge, she finds the few books she can understand to be fascinating.]
I'm glad to meet you, Mr. Orlandi.
[She stands up and extends her hand to him so she can shake his hand. It is a reflex that she gets from Laeticia.]
You can call me Jeanne.
