1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.


Scenarios

1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

[being newly arrived, and unperturbed by. Well, just about anything, John felt that he clearly needed to sate this hunger of his before he took to truly exploring the weird city he now found himself in. Now, here was a joint of hard working men, with their wifebeaters, and their weariness from long hard days.

Or those trying to drink off the hardships of a long day of ghost hunting.

Or... it could be sparsely populated and kind of a letdown.

Well, like John was really going to let that stop him from eating a hamburger. He had the boondollars to buy a hundred hamburgers, at this point, and probably other parts of the city would be more interesting.]

One hamburger with everything please!

And an apple juice.

[he was pretty sure that was an option. And if it wasn't, he just made it one.]

[Aradia doesn't necessarily frequent the Black Stallion, but hey, sometimes you just want to indulge in the local cuisine (for certain values of "local") (even though they don't serve bugs). But she is surprised to see a familiar face there when she stops by today, and she waves to him from the doorway as she enters.]

Oh, hi, John!

[John didn’t really have many expectations for this manliest of gathering places when he first requested his food. It seemed like a respectable bar, full of what he could only assume were people with many stories (that he made up in his head on the spot). When he hears someone familiar say hi, he turns to face her… And waves]

Hi, Aradia! I didn’t know you would be here. Is this another dream bubble?

[Aradia shakes her head.] Nope! I am pretty sure it's not.

[She'll just come on over and pull herself up a chair at his table, though. And sit on the back of it, instead of the seat.]

But the proverbial jury is still out on what it is, exactly. And it seems to belong to somebody, but we're not sure who or what they are. It is all a mystery.

[ john were you expecting a a server or something to come over with your food because instead it's some douchebag

who is totally stonefaced. ]

[Worst server. Worst service. No tip. But there was a familiar voice that he hadn’t heard in fucking forever, so of course when he turns and sees him, there is an over-dramatic gasp, and then he looks confused]

You are a terrible waiter. Why are you waiting tables? I don’t get it, this is stretching it, even for irony.

I'm waiting tables because I'm a waiter, obviously. John. Are you knocking my noble profession? Are you racist against waiters? I didn't know you had it in you, dude. You should be ashamed. I'm ashamed of you.

[ Dave drops his food in front of him unceremoniously (it's not actually his food dave whose order did you take) and slides into the seat across from him. ]

By the way, nice to see you too, you breezy jackass.

You can't be racist against waiters, fuckface. [John sounds like he is simply pointing out the obvious fact here: that waiter was not a race. Though maybe there was something you could be an -ist against.

That's what a racist would say. [ Said very deadpan, though there's a quirk at one corner of his mouth. He leans forward to prop his elbow on the table and his chin on his open palm. ]
