Snow Villiers | Final Fantasy 13-2 | 3;2
No, that was a lie. Everything about this place stunk of Cocoon's broken system that had been put in place by the Sanctum fal'Cie. And, unlike back home, he had no one to vent his frustrations to. The benefactors of this place chose to stay out of the limelight, unless it suited them, so that they could use their prisoners for their own entertainment, it felt like.
The pugilist had taken to the patrols of the city like a duck to water. It was just like back home with NORA. Keep the monsters from attacking those who needed defending. Try and have some kind of normalish life until the next crazy thing happened. Make Serah happy and try to stay on Lightning's good side.
But today found him on top of the Clock Tower, looking out over the city, his mind a million miles away from Ruby City. He knew that if anyone who mattered wanted to find him, they'd read the short notes he'd left, or they'd use the pocket watches. It was probably the only thing that he'd picked up since arriving here that even made any kind of warped sense.

"Geez, you're a big one. What the hell are they eatin', where you're from?"
no subject
"I dunno what they fed us as kids. Whatever didn't move, I guess. Most of my friends were larger than those around us, now that I think about it."
no subject
"Right now there's a custom tailor who is makin' a ton of dough from you. Guess you're one of the new guys, then."
no subject
And while the other guy checked him out, Snow was checking him out as well. Not as tall or as buff as he himself was, but the way he moved stated that he could be dangerous. This was an opponent that would cause him some trouble if they had to tangle. Just the thought of it made him a little excited, but he was trying to take his duties here in Ruby City seriously.
Starting a fight with a stranger to see what it would be like was definitely not the way to go about trying to impress Lightning again.
"I thought this place didn't run on money. That's what Serah told me anyway."
no subject
He puts out one hand to him. Might as well start strong.
"Akira Inugami, from the country of Japan, Planet Earth. Nice to meetcha'."

Serah walked up to him, standing behind her fiance. When he had made it to the town, she'd been so happy. Happy, and then she remembered what was going to happen to them. To her, when she got home. But...she couldn't bring herself to tell him. She focused on what was going to happen here, what was going to happen now.
She'd been helping wherever she could, picking up jobs here and there. She wondered if she should start a school, but hadn't discussed it with anyone yet. Maybe there weren't enough kids to start a school for. He had found his niche in the community right away. It would take her a while before she convinced Lightning she could handle herself out there. She still wasn't sure about Snow, her older sister. When she told the woman what had happened, she seemed angry. But, she figured that was for those two to work out. For now, Serah and Snow could be the happy couple they would never get to be in the future.
She moved beside him, lightly reaching for his hand, smiling. He was still the hero she'd always known him to be. "How's my hero?"
no subject
Being with her, while she had Lightning again, was nearly picture-perfect. She smiled again, and that's what really mattered to him the most. Things with his future sister-in-law were dicey, but he kinda expected that when he left New Bodhum to find Lightning and Serah was all alone back in the town.
He knew that she felt listless. It was practically written in every line of her pretty face. She needed something to occupy her time. Lightning and Fang had patrols and their shifts at the flower shop with that Aerith chick. He patrolled like a fiend when he wasn't at home. But Serah was still bumping heads with her older sister about what she could and couldn't do.
When she called him a hero, his smile grew a little crooked, less self-assured. "Same as always, I guess. Just trying to figure out what's really up with this place. Not getting anywhere though."
no subject
She gently rubbed his arm. "We'll get there, though. I know we will. With you and my sister, I don't think the city stands a chance." She meant it. He and her sister were very, very stubborn, and they wouldn't rest until they had discovered a way out. They may not agree on methods, but they would both agree on getting everyone out of here and keeping their shared person safe.
"Should I let you get back to patrolling or are you still on break?"
no subject
Two things that he didn't want to happen. Ever.
So, he'd started trying to temper his enthusiasm for a fight to be the way to free them from this place. No, if they were going to get anywhere, he had to start thinking with his head, not his muscles. And in the meantime, the patrols that generally led to him fighting at least one monster a day helped to burn a lot of the frustration he felt out of his system by the time he returned home.
"Yeah, I guess if anyone can get us out of here, it's me, Lightning and Fang, right? Just like old times." He leaned down to kiss her soft lips gently, happy that she'd come to knock him out of his brooding. "I guess I can take a few minutes longer for my favorite girl."
no subject
While he leaned down, she took his hat from off his head, and smirked, putting it behind her back. "Well, now you'll have to spend a few more minutes, if you want your hat back." she teased, slowly backing up towards the stairs. If she knew anything, a good game would get Snow out of his funk. A little adventure, even if it wasn't much at all, was better than nothing.

He sighed and flopped down on the nearest ledge. He hadn't bothered to check his watch since this morning. He didn't have much to do other than patrols lately. He looked up and over his shoulder. The slender and newest member of NORA had no idea just how strange this place was other than what he had seen.
He stood up and began his trek up the tower. It seemed like a good vantage point. "Yo, Snow! You up here?"
no subject
Frankly, when the younger NORA member had shown up, Snow was conflicted. It was always nice to have friends from home around him, of course, but Lebreau and Gadot had been his best friends since their time in the Sanctum facilities as kids. After a few moments of silent disappointment, the blond had just shoved all his negative feelings down and had welcomed the blue-haired guy back into the fold as if nothing had happened.
"How's it goin' down there? Seems pretty quiet from up here."
no subject
Each step he took was painful. He kept going simply out of that devotion to Snow. He had a feeling that Snow came up here for more than just the view.
"So...what's eating you?" He leaned over the railing at first then turned to face Snow in a half pirouette. One thing that Yuj was good at was distraction.
no subject
To be honest, Snow wasn't sure what was getting to him about this place. He should have been happy, but there was just something off about this place.
"Well, aside from the rest of NORA not being here, it's just... this place is wrong. It's not even like Cocoon where you had Dysley selling his fal'Cie lies every day. There's nothing for long spans of time and then chaos. It's worse than Pulse."

hi
He'd seen Snow before, though they hadn't had a chance to speak. Today he climbed up to the top of the Clock Tower for a rest and a chance to survey the city from above. Going up high wasn't an obsession for him like some superheros, but it did give him a good vantage point to see if there was something he should be checking out.
He tended to go the distance when patrolling, as well - wearing his suit and using his shield to effect. He figured if he was visible, it would be comforting to people. He tended to have that effect. And today was no exception, so he was in full stars-and-stripes complete with cowl.
As he stepped out onto the roof, he stopped as he realized that it was already occupied. "Oh hey. Mind if I join you?"
Yo!
"Nah, this place is pretty much the best place to view the city before going out to protect everyone. I'm just taking a break." He held out his hand for the other man to take. "Snow Villiers."
Blond haired blue eyed buff guys need to stick together amirite
Of course they do. How else is the world gonna stay safe?
"There's some movement in the northern part of the city," Snow said, pointing that way. "But, I know for a fact that the chick with the bike and Elena were out that way too. So, hard to tell. That's why I was hoping to get a better look."
They should form a club
They could invite Cloud. And become the Three Amigos?

But it had been a few days, and she as honestly bored, and there he was on the clock tower looking like such a ridiculous hero it was almost painful.
So there was a shimmer of crystal light and chaos shadow as she appeared, sitting on the edge of of the clock tower railing a few feet from him, her legs swinging out into the empty air. She glanced over at him and smirked over her shoulder.
"Looking for ways to save the day, hero?"
Lumina managed to make hero into an insult somehow...
no subject
"You must be Lumina. Serah told me about you."
He ignored her barb, thinking getting some sort of actual response from her was a positive sign, since he'd heard the stories of what she could do if left to her own devices.
no subject
She had been leaning against the pillar leading up the side of the clock face, arms crossed over her chest as she watched him with a smirk.
"It's about time you showed your face again, Hero."
no subject
Besides, he knew with how small this city seemed that they'd run into each other some day.
"What can I say? I got held up, but I'm here to help now. Any way I can. Gotta keep the people I love safe, right?"
no subject
"You better have said hi to Serah before you came all the way out here."
no subject
"Of course I did. What kind of fiancé do you take me for? I even let her know what I was up to before I headed out this morning. Sheesh."
