June Test Drive~!

Thinking of apping a character but not sure they'll fit in the city walls?

Have no fear, a meme for you is here.

Directions:
  • Post with your character with their name and canon on top!
  • Choose a location and prompt or wait for someone else to tag.
  • If you'd like, leave contact info for people to get in contact for plotting and other such shenans.
  • Tag around! Make friends. Don't be afraid to chat OOC while tagging.

    Locations:

    1. Train Station: New arrival, or waiting to welcome people? Either way, the train comes in, but you still can't ride it out.

    2. Cathedral: Looking for redemption? Just doing a little sight-seeing? Or just getting a little shelter?

    3. The Clocktower: You can see the whole city from here!

    4. The Black Stallion Saloon: You were told the burgers were great here-- but maybe you just came for the beer.

    5. The Library: You came to do a little research, but it looks like all of the information's just out of your reach. Though, you can always find a way to pass the time here.

    6. The Coffee Joint: A lovely place to have a chat and a bite to eat.

    7. Le Cafe Anglais: A Parisian-British fusion that's as charming as it sounds and serves the best tea around.

    Scenarios

    1. Just walked in: You intended to get here, and you made your way in; but now someone's caught your eye and you'd like to have a chat.

    2. Been here all day: You've been sitting around minding the time. Maybe you didn't notice them at first or maybe you were just working up the courage to talk-- either way, they know you're here and you know it too.

    3. Bad weather: You're here because you've gotten rained in. This wasn't your choice, but at least it's dry-- right?

    4. Wild card: Got something better in mind? Well screw these prompts, try it out yourself!

    Have fun, guys!

It's the sense that something is not quite right that first draws this particular Doctor's attention to Jack. He might certainly know a little of his future (albeit in bits and fragments), but no one's mentioned the idea of there being a fixed point in time quite like this. But he's willing enough to shake it off as simply being some quirk of the future, right up until the mention of the TARDIS. And that is something that is all but guaranteed to catch the rest of his attention.

So really, it probably shouldn't be a surprise that he makes his way over to Jack not too long thereafter. He might not be really certain that he'll be joining in on a drinking, given past events, but conversation he can do.

"Ah, I'm sorry if I'm interrupting anything, but did I hear you say that you caught a ride on the outside of the TARDIS?"

At least it wasn't a blatant trail of pheromones the Doctor found teasing him instead of words. Chances were that no one would have been thrilled if Jack were using those to attract entertainment for the night.

A hand lifted, signaling for another drink as Jack gave the Doctor the once over. Interest was clear there, a blatant picking out of what he liked. Little Lord Byronish for him, but the formal wear had potential. Jack always had liked that or the more modern cut of suits. The hair? Bit poet-like, dreamer. But the eyes. Oh baby. Those eyes. Reminded him of someone although he couldn't put his finger on just who.

Oh right. They had been talking about the TARDIS. Whoops. Had he said that aloud? Experiencing that ride from the outside did scramble the thoughts a little in Jack's view. He was also sure he arrived dead.

"Did I say that?" he asked slyly. The question was if this stranger would rise to the bait.

It is better than a trail of pheromones, yes. Not that he hasn't run into that sort of thing before, but better to have only one thing at a time to deal with. Especially when that one thing is already a little strange besides. But other than the fact that Jack seems to be something that he really shouldn't be, he has to admit that the other man isn't bad-looking. Still, his hearts already belong to someone else, so it's not likely to move into anything more than appreciation.

"It certainly sounded like that's what you said," he answers with a shrug. "I mean, I might not have been listening terribly well, but most people usually manage to travel inside her, and I'm almost positive that it would have been more comfortable that way."

The Time Vortex is hardly the most comfortable of places, after all, and most people wouldn't be able to survive the whole of a trip there, no matter how short the trip might have been in the long run.
